SURPRISE! I have TWO new things to share. I am writing a book! I am writing a memoir about someone else, I think that still counts as a memoir, and it will be all on my father who has lived a life worthy of a Hollywood movie. This is EXTREMELY new territory for me so if you have written anything or have any advice for me, please, please let me know. Goodness knows, I need all the help I can get. Also, if you know of any good memoirs please share them because I love reading them and am always looking for more. I read them like crazy, especially if they come from war or survival stories.

Ha ha, I wish! My youngest rode Rolo when she was really little but goats backs aren’t meant to carry lots of weight so we just let them pull the sleds :)

@@angelocaruso I wish I had video of it! Unfortunately I don’t and now all my kids are too big. My hometown has a group of goats that get rented out for backpacking trips and hauling your camping gear. That would be so fun!

I have never written anything like that, so I cannot offer advice. I can say my favorite memoir was fictional: Stephen King's short story "The Body" from his short story collection "Different Seasons." It is what the movie "Stand by Me" was based on. Congratulations on the new kitten! She is absolutely adorable and so full of kitten energy.

Thank you, Trent! Yes, black cats are so fun and I love that they have a "season," (Halloween), ha ha. Now my favorite holiday has something in common with our sweet kitty! Thanks for your thoughts on my book project. It's quite an undertaking but has been so worth it. I have loved getting to know my dad better and hope to preserve his stories for generations to come.

My mom actually went through WW II. It's a miracle she survived! She has faced certain death 5 times. It's a miracle I'm even here! I want to write a memoir on her. I need help. Very interesting stories!!! But I need to put them on paper!

WOW! That sounds AMAZING! I wish I could meet your mom for sure. It sounds like she would be the perfect subject of a book and there would be no one more suited for the job than her own daughter. I started with just recording all my dad's stories... I used a voice recording app so I didn't have to scramble typing or scribbling, I just wanted to focus on my dad and be able to ask him questions. Then I took classes on how to write memoirs. Write it like a novel, they are so much more captivating when you tell something in the moment. One thing I learned is that readers don't want to be told what happened, they want to feel like they were there with you. I'd love to know how it's going and more about your mom!

It was such a rewarding experience but definitely the hardest one I've ever attempted. I'd love to help make it a bit easier for you, so you can learn from my experience.
