Really helpful episode, the "Sharpen Your Songwriting" series is one of my favourites. It took me a while to figure out a lot of these things on my own, so it's great that the kids watching this will hopefully not have to go through as much trial and error as I did...
The only time I would have both guitars play the same thing, is when I want a huge sound. You can get a really thick wall of sound that way. There are very subtle ways to make it sound awesome as well. For example to have one guitar play on bridge pick ups and the other on the neck. Also, although both guitars play the same chords, you can have a slightly different accentuation of the rythm. This retains the thickness of the sound, and provides several more layers to dissect for the listener, rythmically speaking.
Also i would love if you could make a video showing how you EQ each guitar and set up, and if you could add the Bass drums and keyboard EQ that'll be great aswell
Hi, I so I really wanna get into the music industry but I don't know where to start. I I'm at stage one and I have written my song now what do I do....
I suppose it depends what your aim is, Is it to write great songs and share it with people, watch our videos they're aimed at people like you! Is it to be a famous musician earning millions, give up now, its not about the money! If your 'song' is your first song, write more, a lot more! Good luck with it!
Dude in the back takes my attention, had to rewatch some section where you explain some stuff and i wouldnt do it unless i notice im not paying attention to you, i fear most viewers would just move on to your next point without realizing it, anyway great contect im waiting for more..
Thanks for the video will definitely help me out with writing, also is that part of a real full song you’re playing at 0:38 or is it just a part you made up haha? Sounds sick
It's a Vox VT(number), can't remember the exact model but its from the valvetronix series! .. The Vox modelling Amps are currently my favourite that I've ever played!
I think it'd be better if you at least tried to do demonstrations on the things you're talking about from now on, it makes the video more entertaining. That and the banter.
We agree! However sometimes we're talking about ideas or things relating to an entire song or instrumentation, so it's a little hard to demonstrate everything!
