Lee Adams ("Bye, Bye, Birdie, "All American," "Golden Boy"), one of the first lyricists of the modern theatrical era, chats with Brian Yorkey for this episode of "Legacy Project," presented by the Dramatists Guild Foundation. Produced by the Dramatists Guild Foundation, the Legacy Project is a series of interviews featuring prominent contemporary American playwrights, lyricists, and composers. Each interview offers an intimate look into the lives and creative process of these writers of the theater. @@RichardCareyFordComposer There's a picture of Brian from the premiere of 13 Reasons why at the intro and that's from 2017. I'm sorry but I wrote that comment a year ago, and i don't remeber why lol, but thanks for the answer!

Enjoyable and informative but I totally disagree with Adams about "Young at Heart" - it's a great, clever lyric! Crabbing that hardly anyone survives to 105 is absurd - it's the vague dream of almost everybody to iive to be 100. I have more of a problem with "The Christmas Song" that celebrates "kids from one to ninety-two" as if you're ninety-three or older, you're don't exist to the singer LOL!
