Super cool. Did they specifically ask for vocals? Almost has a bit of a fantasy vibe to it. The briefs I get are far less specific, sometimes I wish they actually gave me more guidance, lol.

Ya I love a specific and detailed brief! Really helps. They didn't ask for vocals actually, the other 2 tracks are instrumental. One of the refs had similar vocals in it so for this one I just went for it and so far it's worked out.

Great video Steven, I have curious question....let's say you submit this track to Motion Array and it gets rejected and perhaps rejected from most sync libraries. What would you do with the track so you may still have return of income for the time and effort you put it your music? Would you upload it to your music distributor (Spotify, Apple etc)? or upload it to RU-vid and sign up it for content ID?? Looking forward to your answer or anyone else's advice. Josh:)

Yeah I might upload it to Spotify. There's always something I can do with it.. I could upload it to Pond 5 is all else fails. Not every track is a success right away, sometimes very old compositions have been useful to me years later.

@@Steven_Beddall Taking a look at how to score for shows that are more procedural in nature... HGTV, Food Network... shows that use music to fill holes that appear in the absence if dialog. Some music is used to set a mood, while other music is used to simply help the viewer cope with the otherwise lack of dialog. I know that some of those shows use Pond5, but that would also be helpful for those who want to write for Pond5 or other library for placement. Quite frankly, I'd be extremely interested in a course that had a more in depth coverage of writing for reality TV. Cheers!

@@Steven_Beddall There are so many different parts of life in which music is a 'useful accessory'. Learning how to write for them would be enjoyable, even if one did nothing with such knowledge but work to master the skill.

Not sure you are allowed to share the track publicly prior to the show release. If it's exclusive track written specifically for the show. All that content is kept secret until the show release usually. I hope you asked them for permission before making the video, just to be sure :)

Hi Steve. just got a question relating to PRO and Artlist after watching your video on Answering questions about Artlist. If you get your work on Artlist with on a Non-Exclusive basis do you still need to register that work with a PRO? Sorry to have jumped topics😇
