If you're a writer, please please keep going. Nothing worth having is easy.

Writing is tough, but the best advice every writer ever will tell you is: do the work. Just sit down and write every day, even if it's garbage. If you spend all your time just thinking like a writer and thinking about being a writer, you're already dead as a writer. Sit down and do the work, end of story. Stephen King doesn't believe in writer's block; neither should you. For many would-be writers, this is merely something they tell themselves exists as an easy way out for not writing, and so they can play the tortured writer cliche. Don't be this person. Get a routine, and just do the work. "I only write when inspiration strikes. Fortunately it strikes at nine every morning.”

A lot of writers say not to watch T.V. or movies because it is poison. I don't believe this at all. Reading will definitely show you ways to write and give you inspiration, but T.V. can give just as many great ideas and inspiration. It's all about the lessons in the stories, no matter the platform.

its not about being the "next" anyone. its about being the first you. but this is motivating i do give it that.

I'm not sure how to explain it, but something about this video just... CLICKS. Once you watch it for the first time, you feel your determination just swell to get something done... Then you find yourself coming back to watch and hear and FEEL it again. It just... brings forth a sense of purpose, you know?

The mark of a truly talented author is when they find themselves writing badly, that they still manage to sift through it all to find a single golden nugget of great writing. Even if it's only a sentence. Don't stop writing, even if it's bad. The very act of writing makes you better.

I come back to this video, from time to time. I've been working on my novel for six years. I worked out it through alcohol and pill recovery. And, though I haven't completely kicked alcohol, I am now 7 years clean of abusing pills. My novel is now done. 119k words. 320 pages. I never thought it would end, but it did. Because I kept moving those keys. Rewriting. Smoothing. Digging deeper until I thought it was bedrock, and even then, beneath, it was only infinite stars. I am grateful for this video. I now begin book 2 of my duology.

Damn. This gave me chills. Finishing my second novel. Here's hoping it's up to snuff!

I'm almost at 50,000 words and to be honest I'm proud. I've attempted so many first drafts and only got to a few thousand words, hopefully this time I'll finish!

I think writing has been my best cure, it is a blesssing that I can write every day, it is also a burden that I have to write every day. But it always makes me feel like making progress every day after enriching my mind and sorting out a little bit more of the truth about humanity.

I realized nearly every writer has some sort of ritual that they do either before, during, or after they write. I think from now on, before I start writing, I'll watch this, because it always gets me motivated. I cant get enough of this video! Please, make more like this! I'm fired up at 3:34am - punching the keys in 4 hours

I'm fourteen and I've been determined since I was six and in first grade. I vividly remember my determination and insistence to write, and I've never let go of that. I am going to write a published novel and it'll be on the bookshelves of many libraries, they might even need two copies so they don't run out. I could go to bookstores that sell my books and secretly autograph them. I'll know when I get there, but until then, I'll just keep writing.

I must say that I lost count of how many times I watch this. I love writing,but sometimes I loose hope and feel like no one will ever read it. But it's the end that really gets me, the listing the "Join them" the everything, Put on the boxing gloves and show me. Thank you for making this

Ever since I was about 4 or 5 years old, my dream has always been to be a writer. I stopped writing six or seven years ago and found all my motivation was gone for a long long time. But now, at a time in my life where I am feeling very lost and in pain, I somehow realised that in my head I've been piecing together a world to escape to when I'm sad and lately I've had the urge to write it down again. Thanks for helping me remember who I have always been.

As a writer who has been going through a pretty grouch time sitting down at the machine to bleed, I thank you for making this video. It came to me when I needed it most. I watch it whenever I feel I have lost my way and I then sit down to my typewriter, or my computer to bleed. Because that is what writing is, as Hemingway said: "There's nothing to writing...all you do is sit at your typewriter and bleed." I've had a rough time of creativity since I wrote my last book and have struggled with what to do next but I have a clear idea of what to do now. So thank you; thank you very much

Started writing online at twelve years old and after numerous years of practicing, I’m now eighteen and halfway through my first novelle. Got a second book in my mind. However, I was forgetting the power of words, but this video was really inspiring.

I found this video either some time last year or the year before that, I can’t truly remember since I’ve watched it more times than I can count and it’s done wonders. There’s something about this video, seeing the writers we so admire struggling and telling us it’s all about sitting down and DOING the work, the music, the touch of insanity in every scene, that makes one filled with the energy to explore all the vast areas of their own imagination at 2 am. Every time I need that boost in motivation, I come and watch this, thank you so much for making this❤️

Thanks man .. I got up from my bed and started writting...it's painful....all I want is to write ....but as soon as I stop I feel miserable...

What helps me is that I usually write the ending or key parts in my stories first and figure out how to connect them. If I start at the beginning I overthink things and never get started.

Well a poetry competition was the excuse for my beginning in poetry.I write poems almost every day.But the love rejection that broke my heart last year made me to write hundreds of poems about love,life and other ....when i started my first book before poetry some people from my family did not believe in me......i will die if i dont write ...

my greatest motivator for writing came from anime when I was a kid. I was amazed at how much more open anime was to complex stories at the time compared to the TV I was presented. Comics, manga and anime provided a window into adventure where most American shows either sold you a toy or wanted you to be a good citizen which isn't bad but it sometimes felt flat and emotionless but those who did inspire me left a lasting impact on my life. As I am now my biggest push to be a writer comes from My little pony friendship is magic. There's a line Rarity says that resonates with creators she is a designer pony who works to achieve her dream of being the best tailor in the world but she has to battle a lack of inspiration. Rules Of Rarity is a song that any creative should hear because it shows you that the writers of the show know exactly what that's like and it pushes you to seek out not only encouragement but to push yourself and free yourself from the weight of expectations.

Writing is not easy. It's really a serious struggle.

Writing is creating a new life, it's addictive and take a lot of time from the day and it's need to be fixed again and again until it will come as good as you believe in it to be. it's a lonely road for whoever decides to take it but all of that worth if you are really ready for all the ups and downs you will be going through until you will actually get to have the book you were working on for so long in your hands
