Thanks for sharing this awesome video. I like that you actually wrote the letters at normal speed (and fluently) instead of "drawing" every stroke really slowly. It's such an enjoyment to watch it over and over. I wish I would write like you do some day.
I love it! Haven't tried sumi ink, but it looks like it writes better than normal ink! I hope you won't mind, but I'll try to attempt this calligraphy style later :)
Have you got any tips on how to get the Brause Rose to work ? I bought one and I can't get it to write (just gaps open) If anyone can help me it must be you, you make it look so easy. Brilliant video !!!
+Ewe Jin Tee Thanks! Yes, I dilute the sumi with a little bit of water. Without it I feel it is too 'dry' to write with, but it is just a personal preference.
amazing writing could I have been looking for ages for someone that can frestyle writing such as you do im looking to get my little ones name tattood on me could you please write cynthia :)
Oh man, I miss watching these vids! Just found this one today, and I realized how much I enjoyed watching other people's calligraphy, haha. Thanks, Schin, and hope to see more someday! XD P.S. I just got a bottle of Dr Martin's Bleed Proof White and, well, it looks really solid. I'm guessing you dilute it?
I would love to learn Spencerian. Can you give me some advise as to where online I can get instruction? Do you have an online course? Your work is mesmerizing and beautiful. Been a calligrapher for 35 years but never had the pleasure or opportunity to learn formal script. Thanks.
+The Person With A Very Long Account Name Practice. Talent is one thing, but skill is another, and skill must be developed. I think too many people use "lack of talent" as an excuse to not even try.
