Writing Vlog Part 1: Writers Block

I'm working on my second novel and I thought it would be interesting to document the ups and downs that go along with writing a novel. Some days the words flow and other days writers block is paralyzing. It went long so I'm posting it in two parts. To be continued....

I'm so glad I've found your channel! All of the highs and lows of confidence and motivation that you describe are so familiar. I love what you said about how reading books can be a motivation, whether they're bad or good, because it's so true. I'll read a bad book and think, 'Wait a second...I could do way better than this!', but equally if I read a great book it inspires me to want to reach to that skill level.

I’m glad you found it too! It’s so nice to know that others can relate to this roller coaster that writing is. It can really mess with your mind and it takes so much just to want to stick with it anyway.

It's the worst when you want to write but you just can't seem to get it done. I think (I hope) I've found my way out of it for now at least. Hope you get your groove back too!

Good job on the video. Writers block hardly drags me down. I like to swap projects to keep my world fresh.

Thanks! That’s awesome that you don’t get stuck like that and switching projects helps. I probably would be more productive if I did. I tend I feel like I can’t move on until I’m done.

@@mahoganydrive yeah. I do too if I stay one thing. I make crafty Stuff, models and such so I switch to that when I get bogged down. But I always make sure it refers to the same world.
