Hey! I'm a complete beginner with fountain pens. I wanted to ask how can I not get my fingers dirty while writing. I try to be as conscious as possible while trying but still find ink stains on my fingers. Thank you!
@@arnavayri6045 sorry for being two months late, but try to not hold close to the nib, distance your fingers, and make sure that the ink you're moving fingers over is dry. hope that helps :)
My German teacher in elementary school forced us to use fountain pens (the ones for kids) for all our work so we started hating them to death because we found them messy and uncomfortable since we were also forced to write in cursive when using them. Now I’m 18 and just recently rediscovered my fountain pens and ink so let’s see if I can overcome my “trauma” and find love for them again 😂

I have a collection of fountain pens, I used to obsess over them to the point of acquiring a rare vintage montblanc pen, only to now be at the point where the last fp I used was a cheapo moonman eyedropper, at the end of the day whilst they're cool and all, nothing can really beat the convenience that a good gel pen provides
Idk if fountain pens are worth it considering the potential mess you could make, and some versions are very high maintenance and require constant attention
Disadvantages of a Fountain Pen: If you lose it, It hurts that you wanna die. You need to maintain it and change the cartridge all the time(It's easy) When someone borrows it, It also hurts. If the nib is broken, It hurts for you and the fountain pen.
No it isn't. You can do calligraphy with them with the right kind of a nib but traditional calligraphy is done with dip pens, at least in western countries
As a fountain pen user, we are better than you ballpoint pen users. We don't care what you say. It doesn't matter that our pens cost more rhan yours, that our ink costs a lot and isnt the easiest thing in the world to change; We Are Better!
You have to insert a catridge first, or maybe use an ink converter. If that doesn’t help, replace your nib. If that doesn’t help ,get a better Fountain Pen.
You can still enjoy the hobby every bit as much as a right handed person. It's really more about technique than anything else. You may have to adjust your hand position to make it a bit easier
