Today we went to Kendle's Auto Salvage & Sales to test out the new Kobalt right angle impact wrench. This is a 24v cordless tool from the Kobalt power tools line. It is primarily geared towards automotive use but there are probably many fasteners and tight areas that this could be beneficial depending on your application. We used one single 2.0Ah battery during the 90 minutes that my son and I were at the salvage yard. I feel that the tool worked well and mentioned in the video that Kobalt should investigate the gear drive anvil area for improvements as there was some lubrication leakage around the drive anvil. It also seemed a little disproportional and could’ve been slightly longer ( 1/8” ) to accommodate better socket fitment and torque transfer.
This tool was purchased with my own money and I am not sponsored for this content. I purchased this as a bare tool during the promotional get a free 2.0Ah battery. Hopefully you enjoyed today’s video as I feel it was put head to head with real-world testing!
The Kobalt 24-Volt Max Right Angle Impact Wrench is ideal for all your automotive needs. The brushless motor delivers 180 ft-lbs of torque for easy installation and breakaway of nuts, bolts and fasteners. The tool is designed with a slim and lightweight body to easily use in tight spaces. The impact wrench is compatible with all Kobalt 24-volt batteries and chargers (sold separately), and also comes with a 5-year limited warranty.
The Kobalt 24-volt high efficiency brushless motor generates 180 ft-lbs of torque for effortless tightening and removal of bolts in tight spaces
Variable-speed trigger provides 0-2,000 RPM for maximum control
Designed with impact and chemical resistance for everyday use in the shop
Ergonomic handle with convenient forward/reverse switch
Built-in LED light illuminates work area for better visibility
Compatible with all Kobalt 24-volt max batteries and chargers (sold separately)
Kobalt's 5-year warranty gives you peace of mind

I’ve had the 1/2 drill and 3/8 impact now for 3.5 years. I have literally beat the drill to death and the batteries. Wire wheeled 2 frames and a trailer and seriously it’s one of the best tools I ever purchased. Bought the flashlight over 2 years ago and use it all the time. I have several of the 1.5 and one 2.0 amp. Not a lot of difference in time between the two. I can run the drill nearly non stop for over 20 minutes. These kobalt tools far exceeded my expectations and I don’t say that often.

I bought one today, got a free 2.0 battery, and of course bought a 24 V battery charger since I don't have another Kobalt power tool. Total cost $ 143 plus taxes charger was $ 46 plus taxes. I could've easily purchased the Milwaukee version of this tool but chose Kobalt. Having a hard time getting used to the Length of the tool itself. We'll see what kind of performance I get out of this tool.

Love the vid. I just bought that Kobalt right angle impact two weeks ago and its head is so much shorter than even the Ridgid Stubby. Boy can it fit into some tight places. Got the Tool, they give you the battery as a gift, and got the charger. I walked out paying a hair under $200 total for complete package. Would love to see you do a torque testing vid on it to see if its 180 lb/ft rating is grossly underrated like the other Kobalts 🙃

The kobalt is actually stronger than the M12, kobalt underrates some of their tools and Milwaukee way overrates theirs, torque test channel proves this.
@ado038
@ado038 2 года назад
Interestingly enough Project Farm and In think one other test channeln showed different results, the Milwauke M12 definitely performed better than the Kobalt and I think Project Farm even used a 2AH battery. I use a 6AH on mine and its amazing
@OKTAPHMFAA
@OKTAPHMFAA 11 месяцев назад
Dude Project Farm literally proved the opposite of what you’re saying. The Milwaukee blew the Kobalt out of the water, it wasn’t even close. So the only thing proven is nothing is concrete with power tools.
@Tom--Ace
@Tom--Ace 8 дней назад
@@ado038TTC did a follow up video where they showed the discrepancy. If you use a small battery in the kobalt and the 3/8 version of the Milwaukee, then they are indeed close. Otherwise the kobalt is flat out better with a bigger battery, and the Milwaukee is flat out worse as a 1/2 TTC initially used the 1/2 version and were disappointed

I tried both, Kobalt & Milwaukee made from China stamped with USA names. And not happy. < both are hungry on battery < extremely heavy to use beyond 32 minutes. Most worst with 4Ah or 6Ah battery < lousy paint jobs & dents & marks like being well used after 16 minutes < grease/fluid leaking in less than 9 minutes < anvil head is not user interchangeable < anvil head get extreme hot to the point that it will not live pass 3 years. Heck and good luck if Home Depot or Lowe's will instantly & cheerfully replace it on the spot during the claimed 5 years warranty. Another scam from both stores that sell them but refused to give you a replacement after 30 days like going into ATG/Snap-On/Mac truck. If you are making less than 77K, do you really want to throw out around $450 to $700 for this? If you are a pro like us, you get them free. Beside all those reviews, we found out both are useless when doing a complete brake jobs. Using the shop air impact tools and basic hand tools still work.

Can't find two batteries free? What item number to get two free batteries? Where & when did you get this since this was posted 8/6/20?

It’s ONE free 2Ah battery on select tools. See Lowes for details on selected Kobalt power tools and look for the promotional free gift items www.lowes.com/pd/Kobalt-24V-Right-Angle-Impact-Wrench-Bare/1001864238

@@themadking2501 You've got it almost right, but entirely backwards. It's made by SBD but still under the Mac label. No Yellow version yet.
