The owner watches the security camera and manually opens and closes the door so he doesn't have to sit at the front desk or pay anyone. I think he's just bored with life and gets a kick out of trying to catch criminals by baiting them with the expensive merchandise and watching the camera. This opened my eyes to how terribly NSW cops can treat people. Even seeing your cameraman get harassed at vivid just because someone else left a water bottle unattended. Also hate that this computer store owner can keep screwing people over without consequence.

You should press charges against the owner for unlawful detainment by a citizen or unlawful citizen's arrest. You can probably get some compensation in civil law (like tort), potentially criminal if your lawyer is good enough. Definition of unlawful arrest: "When a person is arrested unlawfully, they may take civil action against the arrestor. This may include suing for damages for a tort such as assault, false imprisonment or negligence. When an unlawful arrest occurs, criminal charges such as a charge of assault or deprivation or liberty may also follow."
Get some legal advice as he unlawfully detained you imagine you had a medical episode during that hour of being locked in. He would have needed to provide you with atleast water and other necessities im pretty sure what he is doing is illegal.
And by locking the store, the owner compromised spanian's safety and violated regulations requiring accessible exits in case of emergencies like fire for one example.

After dealing with MSY in Sydney many times in the past, I stopped buying direct from physical stores in Sydney and only buy off PC Case Gear and I have spend over 20 grand with them and had better service even with their website bot. These computer stores in Sydney are out of control rude and unhelpful
As some one who works in the industry with computer stores, the customer services at PC case gear is one of the worst. If you have spent 20k with them you would be in the industry and know this aswell.

You should sue them …speak to a lawyer and your case about that matter….me as a security guard…it is not a theft if you are still in the store and plus you got evidence…get their name and date and time and ask for CCTV FOOTAGE ON THAT DAY..they wrongly charged you with no intent to steal so sue them and get those police name on the day…pulling gun on you …they’re not allowed as you didn’t have a weapon on you…take legal action

About a month or two ago I seen a pile of junk out the front of a house on fire. I called the fire brigade and started looking for a hose or a bucket or a tap you know whatever. A cop comes first and says I've been spotted hanging around, ran a check and searches me, all that. Luckily I showed em my call history and was let go, fucken makes me think fuck doing a good things no more. There's more to this story I shouldn't say but yeah.

yeah! i think everybody should experience how it feels like to be inside the aquarium. Send 1-2 lads in next time to buy some computer parts for real with enough money on them, with Gopro attached on them to get the POV footage inside the store. Someone should make sure they get the footage of the boys goin in n how the door starts closing. When the cops Arrive, we need the footage of how they handle the situation from both POV AND outside view and then start the legal process after that. By reading the comments, looks like SPANIAN is not the only one Victim here. Police are also probably part of this scheme. This needs to be Exposed. Hope, people don't do stupid things to the store, making things worse and cause more problems.

heres a different take, probably wont be popular but its possible the chinese guy exits out the back after pressing the close roller door button and sees you in the shop and shits his pants or leaves and sees you in the shop from his phone or from home and shits his pants when he sees you and calls the cops because he doesnt know whats going on. I doubt he was trying to trap you in there and I hope your viewers dont go and destroy his shop.
Also if the doors half down that's a social hint that the shops shut and any customers inside can still get out. It sux what happened to you but I don't think it was anything other than an accident

I used to run a computer store in Brisbane with my cousins. Looking at that joint and hearing your story, it's highly unlikely that it's profitable, but it's still there, so seems dodgy as. Probably a front for money laundering. I found some info on the owner, lets just say he has his finger in a lot of pies.
