Telemundo Chicago announced on July 29, 2013 that they hired Edna Schmidt to co-anchor Noticiero Telemundo Chicago at 5pm and 10pm alongside Alfonso Gutierrez, Maricela Vasquez with weather, and Oscar Guzman with sports. Ironically these promos were airing the day before during the finale of La Voz Kids. Every time there was a commercial one of these three promos aired. She starts anchoring at the end of August.

Una periodista muy profesional. Se vale empezar de nuevo. Admirable mujer. Ejemplo para todas las mujeres. Porque de alguna manera todos hemos tenido un problema, aplausos a las que como ella salen adelante. Dios te bendiga mujer valiente y guerrera, Jesucristo te ama!

Tener un poco de empatía y comprensión no cuesta nada. Estoy seguro que mi compatriota se renovará como el ave fénix, por la gracia del Todopoderoso, porque TODO lo bueno proviene del Padre de las luces.
