He is talking how he grew up. He is with his mates from the same area so that’s how it is. When people with certain accents or dialects meet their family and friends they speak even stronger. Growing up in a multi cultural South West London inner city school I still speak like that sometimes with mates but obviously different in a professional environment to an extent because I still am who I am.
