You guys should really watch "No Rules" - Finland's entry to Eurovision this year. Specifically you need to watch the live performance from UMK. You're gonna love it!

The outfits are protecting against the hatred they are getting, and the alienesque faces make them look less like human to the online trolls.

I have been learning Finnish because I like Finnish shows, movies, and music. It is a hard language, but I love it. The way it sounds and letter combinations are just addictive to me. I have been surprised to find that I have immediately been able to apply it when watching movies and such. My first time listening to this song I was able to pull out words and phrases. I love languages and suggest trying new ones for music you connect to.

As a finnish person I felt so bad about Finland being robbed at ESC 2023 (and he was robbed), but the fact he is maintaining his influence makes me happy.

Also, for context, Käärijä has talked in interviews about how he was in a very low place during covid. He lost gigs, lost his jobs and his girlfriend left him. He said that the lowest point was when he left a mean comment for another artist. He got up from the computer and started crying. That was when he realized he needed help.

Käärijä was almost the only thing on radio when Cha Cha Cha dropped, but normally Finland is known as the metal headquarter of the world having most metal bands per capita, other Nordics following close. Melodic death metal is especially good.

He was an interval act but was better than the actual contesters.The winners of the previous years always perform again as an interval act but with bigger budget and you can see the experience that one year and Eurovision makes in an artist.

She once submitted a song to UMK (and Eurovision) a 80s dance synth-pop about Cicciolina which was a very famous porn star that became elected as a European Deputy for Italy. I don't know if I've already said this, but as a big Eurovision fan, it's so much fun to watch you guys watch these videos. I love that you are so open and attentive when you watch, and even though you might be coming at this with not much (but growing!) knowledge of the show or the artists, your instincts are great (yes, dancers appear out of nowhere; yes, there are a lot of key changes; yes, Finns make a lot of metal/rock...). You also notice a lot of details about the songs, the camerawork, the stage, etc. I noticed that especially in the recent Sergey Lazarev and Conchita videos. I wish this was all the music that was allowed to be played in Finland. I can't stop this music repeating in my mind even when picking mushrooms in the forest. Mates, in Finnish every word in the following phrase 'this beautiful flower' has THIRTY different forms. And let's not talk about the verbs... The only thing Finnish is easier in is that it does not have the future tense, no articles and no gender specific words (like he/she, him/her etc.). Learning Finnish is tough!!! We have 15 cases so the words change depending on what you say. The pronunciation is relatively easy once you understand it (everything is pronounced the way the word is written, like every letter, and there are only very small exceptions). But the grammar 😰! Even the word 'no' changes depending on the situation.
