@@Kanyewestbiggestfan123ok. what the hell. We have the same video taste. I see you in every channel/video I am subscribed to. I am subscribed to 40+ channels.
I don't know why people act like modern album covers are bad. For every Led Zeppelin 4 there was a million album covers that was just a picture of the artist/band with the title.
I dont know what to think about this video Tittle brings u into thinking "hmm this guy is going to say something about bad covers in new time",but it was actually about history of album covers Of course in any decade u had good and bad album covers and yes,its different now,but thats just because music and marketing is evolving There wasnt a point like why album covers in new times are "bad",and there are some good album covers in recent times like melodic blue by baby keem, forever story by jid and etc
Great video. Just two things: the topic of the video changed so drastically in the second half of the video, I mean you can't start by talking about album covers and finishing by discussing about capitalism (I understood the point, but it seemed like you wanted to talk about something else) The second point is that you made too few examples of bad covers. And you took covers from I believe gucci mane so eh. Still, great video
Hey!! Appreciate the comment. Yes, I agree that the video went loose towards the end. I'm just getting started on RU-vid so it's gonna take a few videos for me to get it right!! Consider subscribing and sticking around. I would love your honest feedback on my new videos as well!!
Damn I mean the album is called Donda but I just don’t really see the focus that you are talking about. Especially because very few songs are actually about donda. Like, how is off the grid related to Kanye’s mom? Praise god? Hurricane? Jail? I know Jay z mentions donda once but that’s it. I just don’t see how someone saying that an album cover is plain black to not distract from the his mother doesn’t make the album more focused. You could have had a picture of donda or a family picture of Kanye as a kid. Something more than just a boring black cover.
@@penofficial_ I dont know how to break it to you but the album is dedicated to her in name. Name doesnt equal theme. Which song on TPAB is about pimiping a butterfly? The name is just a name it doesnt really have anything to do with the music itself. Think about how how movies arent named about their central themes like overcoming adversity, hardship or struggle but just short titles that dont acttualy have anything to do with the themes but more after the protagonist or the setting.
Great vid but, Tbh I feel like you missed the point when you used Donda as an example because Ye was in a moment of darkness and the album cover feels like the music on the album.
Yeah. Some albums also get elevated to another level by having a great cover. Not just in a way that it's iconic, but a popular example like the Kid A cover, already gives you so much immersion before even listening to it. Just listening to Everything In Its Right Place you can already visualize the setting of the song in your head because of the album cover.
Usually a interesting cover can be a good reason to me check it out and listen to an album. Of recent years i really like the cover of Titanic Rising, Melodrama and Currents
The Weeknd got pretty good album covers, but his CDs kinda suck... i own both The Highlights album and Dawn FM, The Highlights only has tracklist on the front cover (which is a poster so i dont even have it in the CD case) and Dawn FM does not have a tracklist at all
I see no issues with covers today honestly but rule 1 a cover of album should be art. If it can be used as a single/ep cover dont use it. Find/make something that is art
I still go after physical albums. Digital in the 2000s was temporary for me, I viewed it as a taster to what brick and mortar stores had, via a sampling booth around the area. What I really wanted the experience of what teens ten years earlier had with hunting for CD's and whatnot at malls. I love the CD inserts besides the album cover and back and what they may hold. You don't get that anymore with MP3 only. With smartphone, I can use Shazam to song ID most songs in public or online, be it youtubers or in documentaries.
@@povsujal mostly the Eminem Show and Encore, the theater theme they have always catches my eye. The colors are very eye-catching and they have contrast with eachother, with the red and blue. Sorry if the comment was a little long 😅!
The Big Day by Chance is a bad album cover, not sure what a clear CD with holes in it means and the wedding band inclusion aged terribly. Pet Sounds by the Beach Boys is a bad album cover packaged on a legendary tracklist, while IANAHB2 by Lil Wayne is a good album cover with a bad album
Anybody can shoot marvellous videos now without having a penny or any talent for it. At long last we don't have to endure the shitty posh videos of the past.
Honestly bro you really need to expand your music taste. It's clear you don't really know that much about modern music as there are so many stunning album covers which are out there. Just such a lazy video.
most from the 2010s where still good but nowdays i see so many wierd shit like on drakes album covers, that shit makes me not wanting to listen to the album
