Feel free to disagree with my simple solutions, they are after all, simple. Literally anyone can (and has) thought of the these solutions, but Jagex can't even discuss or poll solutions after 2 years? Ridiculous.
This is a terrible idea. People grinded 1000's of hours for the fomo capes and your ideas make 1000's of hours of work useless. You just want em cause ur protoxx. Do you realize how long 120 in so e of the skills like cooking took? There's only 80 players who even achieved 120 in the 6 months.
This is absolutely why they refuse to add them as gameplay rewards. They wanted to add them to Hero pass, realised that would have caused too much reputational damage and canned the idea, and are now waiting for the moment to add them as MTX purchases. I have zero doubt about this. If they wanted to make them obtainable via gameplay they would have done it already
Reward for 200m xp in a skill seems for me to be the best solution for sure. Its a huge milestone with no reward atm. So the cape could fill that empty achievement
Option D: hit lvl 99, you have access to skill cape. once you've gained enough xp for 99 again, so ~27m xp, you get opportunity to buy (or have as a drop) the inverted skillcape. same for 120, although, you'd end up with it being at 200m. Or with the recent 110 update. tie it to lvl 110 skills (99 inverted that is)
that's not the full history of the launch disaster of FSW, in the first hour of fsw going live, people were able to smuggle items into FSW from the main game through the clan citadel world. update was to patch the bug
Iirc someone got 120 Prayer in the first 24 hours via that glitch which was hilarious. It also completely ruined the FSW economy for the rest of the event because a lot of the smuggled items weren't removed/were sold forward and Jagex didn't want to punish innocent players. What a mess
@@exantiuse497 it was 99 prayer in the first 24 hours, thats correct. They used bones that were smuggled from the main game. The smuggle wasn't too massive, mostly some buy limits of whatever they could get off the GE in a short time, but the issue was with the fact that these were some high-level resources that entered in a low-level/early stage eco, which really messed stuff up. I remember seeing screenshots of it, the smugglers had like 5k of each dragon bone, a bunch of bars/ores/logs etc, but nothing past a GE buy limit. They were selling these items for maingame GP at ~100-200X their main game value, just for the whales who really wanted to get a lead or do some stupid stuff. relative to the current stage of the economy, it was insanely impactful, but relative to the actual main game economy, it was basically nothing in terms of resources/items. still a really wacky mess up.
@@exantiuse497 i stopped even playing when i saw the RWT people advertising in buthroupe to go to some site to buy FSW gold and they had billions already in like 5 hours, cause they smuggled in. people getting 99s in a day or so cause they brought in stuff from maingame also got to me.
I believe Mod Hooli's comment from a few weeks ago originally mentioned that Jagex were holding off reintroducing inverted skillcapes because it had taken them so long that they felt it needed to be done in a big way. In essence, Jagex have delayed for so long that they feel they can't just reintroduce inverted skillcapes as-is, which is a terrible argument. By that logic, they can just wait another year, and argue that reintroducing inverted skillcapes would necessitate an even bigger event in order to live up to some imagined need for grandeur.
I have one of those capes (construction, one of the rarer ones) and I absolutely approve of the idea of adding them in the game. The idea of not adding them so as to not "devalue" the FSW grind is absurd because the tokens could be sold and probably the majority of the capes now in use were purchased
@@exantiuse497exactly. Most people I ask who have them just bought them. I played fsw to get 120 thieving for my main. I’m guessing these people who bought them are now having buyers remorse because they realize it may have been a waste of gp. Personally I was one of the first(Although I’m pretty I was the first) people to buy and own the glacies robes drop from nex aod. I sold 2 santa hats to afford it. Was it a waste of money? Yes. Do I regret it? No because I knew exactly what I was doing when I did it. I’m not going to sit and whine because now you can get them for like 50m. Get a grip people.
Inverted skillcapes should NEVER have been in FSW to begin with. FSW should have been for new or returning players only. Adding inverted skillcapes to something aimed at new or returning players is nothing but a shameless cash grab. The only way to get inverted skillcapes was to waste money on an account I am never going to use again after FSW and while playing that account neglect my main account wasting the membership I bought for that account.
You are 100% right. Like protoxx said, new player wouldn't even know where to begin to get 120 in a skill. It was always about forcing current player to pay for a new membership by giving a unique reward. Let's be honest, they have been at this for years with treasure hunter. The non cash grabby thing to do would have been to allow player to go into FSW with their current membership, and then have some sort of reward that you could transfer back to the main game, like they do in OSRS with leagues and stuff. But hey, fuck RS3 player base i guess.
They're going to come back as part of an RNG event like the BPH where spinning TH gives you more currency to buy the capes, letting them milk the players while saying "they're not on TH!"
Phase 1: Remove TH Phase 2: Reintroduce Squeal of fortune now with mocking goblin voice over for shit spins Phase 3: wait for backlash Phase 4: Inverted capes released... In squee of fortune Phase 5: Rake the cash
Jagex to Protoxx solutions Jagex: We like your solutions and they seem fair... but we are going to ignore it for another unfair unfun way to achieve the inverted skillcapes.
Option 2 was the best where you can unlock it after 120. Getting 200m in a skill should def be rewarded in my opinion. Thats coming from someone with no skills at 200m :P... Also make them non-tradeable.
Jagex have a giant problem of hiring lazy developers along with lack of direction. this update for instance would take 1 man a few hours to do yet here we are
I disagree with needing another rng method of obtaining these tokens. Many of us might be maxed and comped but there’s also a majority of players who aren’t and maybe some of them would want an untrimmed inverted 99 Mastercape to show off, maybe it will be their only 99 ever. If we added an RNG element to it, by the time those players potentially unlocked the one they actually wanted, it could be far too late. It’s like you said, these ought to be available outright to purchase. The people who grinded got their 2+ years of recognition and the people with massive banks got their early access. It’s time that these be readily available to the rest of the players who couldn’t afford a 2nd account or didn’t have the time to play.
Leagues or separate game mode that takes just as much time to get them or never re release them again. They should never be implemented into the live game in any way and always be attached to a separate game mode in some way.
Idea: new island for ScapeRune - Uninformative Island. Here, you can UNTRAIN your stats from 99 to 1. Yes, 99 is a hard requirement for it like the max guild. The XP drain rates are the same speed as the XP gain rates from FSW. Once you get level 1 stats you get an inverted skillcape token for untraining your stats at various locations, and a VERY small chance to get another token afterward while training. Disclaimer: your levels are not ACTUALLY untrained here. It's represented by a minigame tab, not your actual level tab.
I used to play back when this happened before the battle pass, The fact that they have not released those capes yet is both shocking, and also not at all surprising. Best of luck with the game!
tHey could introduce a new type of clue and add them to the drop tables. I hope they make it simple and have a token that you can redeem for an inverted skillcape of your choice instead of having a token for each individual skill cape.
Thank you for voicing this issue! the reason most players did not play fsw was because they said they were releasing inverted capes to main game with no mtx. Here we are 2 years later, with Jmods on reddit saying that they were going to do a fsw2 :')
They literally said they have no timeline on when they would bring them back. I don't know why people complaining. They should have played a FSW if they wanted them.
I don't own one and think they shouldn't be reintroduced. If you don't have one, so what? There was plenty of opportunity to get one. It's a damn cosmetic.
A better solution is true inversion capes at 200m xp with an option for classic inversion. True inversion is actual color inversion where red becomes blue, green becomes pink, etc. reaching 200m should be seen as game breaking so glitching the color would be sweet. The classic inversion capes from FSW can get a nod as a discontinued item via examine or name text (inverted x cape (2022))
I reckon the capes should be obtained with 200mxp, pet, and all the relevant skill achievements completed for it. And then pay a certain amount of GP for it.
I came back after 7 years. Saw them on players and fell in love with them, finished my first skill to 120 (thieving, was 117 before break) only to find out, that there is no option for me to get one 😢
I don't agree with mods saying they want to be respectful with FSW players. I am a FSW player, and i have a couple of inverted cape, and i don't care since like the mods said, the cape were gonna be release later in the main game. I always expected other people to have capes outside FSW game since the very beginning. Honestly the main perk of getting the cape earlier was to sell them in the main game since they were so rare. Once the token became untradable, i 100% expected the cape to be released then.
make them 120m buyable if you have the skill at 120 virtual level. and unlocks the cosmetic in your wardrobe so you dont own it physically. still less than 1 bond. WORTH.
So, let’s keep it real. This is a clear conflict of interest between the producer team, merchandise team, and development team. I believe most of it is being repaired ever since CVC bought Jagex. Talking about new ways to get these capes, temporary modes, like trailblazers happening every year or so, would be a great opportunity for those who didn’t get the first time to get it now.
They wanted to add inverted capes and halo pets in something like Hero Pass of other MTX and probably still want. That is why they won't add them as gameplay rewards
Before I watch the video I think capes should either drop like pets after 99 or 120 or better... Make skilling achievements to unlock them post 99 and post 120. Would make you a true master of the skill showing off inverted cape.
skilling boss from a different world/timeline that drops a shard/scrap item like the igneous stone from zuk, use it with a normal 120 cape to invert it, not the best idea, but it has to be earned and untradeable in this set up, maybe you need to sacrifice 10 of the normal 120 capes? make it a gold sink.
Jagex should only release these capes in a similar fsw/leagues scenario. Why should you people who didnt even play get something we spent hundreds of hours on without putting in similar effort?
actually even more than inverted skillcapes i actually would like that hybrid armor set along with the weapon that does up to level 80 for alle three styles that is shown in the video tumbnail
I'm glad that you took my ideas into consideration, but I still think that it would make the most sense for a given inverted 120 skillcape to be given upon reaching 200m in its respective skill (and the regular version to be unlocked after having unlocked the skilling pet) It gives players more of a reason to grind for 200m, especially in a time and age now when thousands of players already have maxed out their accounts.
I think they should introduce prestige levels to all skills. Once you hit 200M in a skill you have the option to reset and gain a prestige level and when you hit 120 in the skill again you can unlock the inverted cape.
I think it's too steep of a task. Maybe once you get 200m, or even just 120 in the main game. Remember, to get the original inverted cape, you only had to get 120 in a mod where you had like 20x the xp rate. I don't think it's fair to then ask people in the main game to grind 1000x more for the same reward.
@@JordsplayHow dumb are you there wasn't no 20x XP rates in competitive. If it was so easy why did most hard skills that rely on players collecting items like crafting, cooking, summoning etc have only 100 ish players achieve 120 on each lolol. Your just a noob with no 120's your opinion doesn't matter.
i reset my defense to 1 a long time ago, and i lost all the quests that required it. it was fine as i did for the lolz and didn't even have a quest cape yet, but now that i got a trimmed comp, i have no desire to restart my account. it would be too complicated
Hey Protoxx! I actually like a combination of Option C and Option A. Have the player reach 99 and have the respective skilling pet, then pay 5-10M to the skill master to unlock the new look. This would reward the player for both the effort of time put in as well as the luck needed to get the skilling pet, while also having a small money sink : )
A money sink of 5-10m per skill is not going to matter at all. It should be like 500m-1b/skill to have a material impact. Remember that according to Jagex RS3 has gold inflation of over 80 billion per day (i.e. 80b is generated more than is removed), so even if a thousand players paid 1b each that's just 2 weeks of inflation, one off deal
@@exantiuse497 Yeah I wasn't aiming for it to be an actual money sink, more so just a cost to alter the look that way it isn't entirely "free". Unfortunately the gold economy is just too far gone, and anything that could "correct" it would just be to extreme.
If they're going to keep doing alternate game modes with unique rewards that's all the more reason why 1 account should have more than 1 character. So you can have all the rewards you earn on 1 character (shared within the account) and not just a bunch of accounts you don't play anymore, because you can't play them all but they have cool stuff
@sebbydagod3391 WTF is your problem? The idea of the event was to get new players in the game, now douchebags like you mock those new/returning players. smh
Tbh i always liked the idea of a skilling challenges for the inverted capes like maybe burn 10k of each log so you gotta burn logs otw to 120 firemaking that kinda stuff that provides a reason to Train the skill actually as it was intended to a extent and it also provides accomplishment for actually achieving the invert for the 99/120
I would honestly like to see leagues introduced into rs3 like osrs and inverted skillcapes being a reward you can transfer over like some rewards in osrs, you don't even have to make a new account or buy membership, just use same account with membership. It would be fun as hell, get the community together and solve alot of these cosmetic issues.
I didn't end up doing fresh start worlds after the whole login thing and the game forcing me onto a normal world, literally just refunded my bond and moved on with my life lol, would be cool to see the capes come back somehow though
It is 'difficult' because they want to find a way to get money from it and / or boost player count by making people log on and grind for ages to get it. I have an inverted cape, I bought it for GP it was several billion GP. I refuse to make a second account for FSW and with the price bumps I will not be doing so for Group Ironman either. Jagex are too damn greedy and the content updates simply doesn't justify multiple accounts these days.
FSW was a joke and it failed for jagex. I doubt they will ever bring it back but if they promised inverted would come back then they should find something to provide that unlock.
Players over 120 in a skill should have a chance to get an item that unlocks the inverted capes each time they gain xp after hitting 120. (Kinda like a pet drop system but just for post 120) This adds a point to grinding over 120 beyond just hitting 200m for no reason.
Don’t normally comment… This is by far the best video you’ve done. WTH is right… Options A-C are all more than enough of a reason. Dcked the dog long enough Jagex
I appreciate what you are trying to say but some of the points I disagree with. I do not feel like I was "disrespected" because they made the tokens tradable at all. It gave me some way to make money from the tokens, while still having the inverted capes unlocked on the accounts. IMO these should be kept related to temp game modes, like FSW but ideally a Leagues system, or 200m unlock ONLY if there is never future plans to do FSW2 or Leagues again, which if they flat out said they have not plans to do either of those, i would quit tbh.
Jagex claims that they don't want to "devalue" the FSW players, implying that allowing people that didn't play FSW to get the capes would do that. However, they already allowed players that didn't play the mode access to the capes because they were sellable, so if that devalues the capes then they are already devalued. I have an OG FSW 120 construction cape (#10 in the FSW construction hiscores) and I have no issues with the idea of Jagex releasing the inverted capes as gameplay rewards
@@exantiuse497 Yeah I get where others come from, I just disagree and don't feel that way. If it is rewarded in gameplay, has to be at 200m exp at least IMO
I played fsw and got 7 capes and I still want them to just release them. I personally do not care about the grind cause it was a lot faster than normal game mode.
FSW was so much fun compared to the main game, the first 6-8 weeks without MTX was the best rs3 experience I've ever had, it was not at all like a ironman btw you could buy almost anything if you had the right amount of cash / items.
@@Knuffeldraak Yea it was so much fun because if you wanted to make money you did not have to run the most powercrept content in the game, I sold the first pair of cinderbanes on FSW for 1.5b RS3, honestly was crazy.
Honestly, agree with most of the take except for how to re-release. I would love to see these come from Leagues etc, if leagues were frequent enough like OSRS.
I don't really mind it being extraordinarily rare or difficult to obtain. I just want it to be accessible to everyone who puts in the work, whatever the solution ends up being. I personally think there should be a 'skillcape inverter' added to clue caskets that's maybe less rare than dyes. This would make it hard to get and allow it to remain as a status symbol while still being obtainable by all players. It would be a one time use item that inverts a normal skillcape
I want a new FSW so I can get my friends to join and properly try the game, I like the game mode since the character carried over into eternal realm. Seems easy to do for them, I dont see the problem in just seeing the interest in it by doing a version 2.
YOU FORGOT TO ADD THE FUNNY SOUND OR BLEEPS AT THE END AGAIN. You out jagex on the wall for not holding up their word so I’m doing the same with you, since you said you would in the comment section in the last video lol. Also pin this
I'd be mad too if I didn't bust my ass to get a few of them during FSW. If you didn't or cba buying them you can wait 10 years for all I care hahaha Just wait for FSW V2
Sure rerelease them. But you have to do the same for all past rare items too. I worked so hard for my inverted quest cape. If everyone gets to have it then everyone gets to have a party hat. Halloween mask and Santa hat
Well.....rares are still tradeable, the cape tokens arent so its not the same....and if they left them tradeable without re-releasing them you'd see phat prices very quickly and in a few years some would be at christmas cracker price.
Love how there was a giant market for these tokens during fsw and all these people neither wanted to earn it or pay for it but now feel entitled to it. Its honestly sad. Jagex should host another fsw/preferably leagues mode though.
Jagex said at the start they would re-release inverted skillcapes and that they wouldn't be FOMO. Not re-releasing them is massivly dissrespecting the people who genuinly missed out on being able to play FSW keeping in mind that skillcapes of any kind should NEVER be a limited time thing and ANY player with the level or quests done should be able to wear the capes.
If I had to guess, they most likely don't know where to apply these to (easy solution, the skill cape vendors), or... And this is where tinfoil hat comes on... The upper management recognized the exclusivity of owning something like this, and wants to figure out the best way to monetize it. I'm on OSRS player, idk shit about RS3 these days, but that's my wager.
I see that they're releasing new combat achievements, maybe they could add hard achievements to each skill to unlock them alongside with getting 120. Stuff like Attack - Kill a certain high lvl boss in a set time Strength - Keep critting with melee for a set time Defence - Tank a hard boss for a set time Ranged - Kill corp with range, trigger the effects of all bolts and arrows Prayer - Unlock all prayers, wear the best prayer bonus set, tank jad with prayers for a set time Magic - Unlock all spells, use the tune banite ore for each arrow Necromancy - Unlock all abilities, kill rasial in a set time Constitution - Wear the highest lp boost set, get The Survivor title Runecrafting - Get the highest multiplier for air runes, deplete the runesphere, craft superior seasinger Construction - Build every poh room with all the build slots built Dungeoneering - Complete a dungeon in a set time, do all ed's in a row, do all hardmode floors. Archeapology - Unlock all relics, do all achievements Agility - Complete a gnome restaurant task in a set time, do all agility courses in a set time, get agile outfit Herblore - Make a blessed flask Thieving - Unlock all the safes in a set time Crafting - Make the artificer's measure, craft superior death lotus, craft reefwalker's cape, craft leviathan ring Fletching - Make the masterwork bow, fletch every ammo atleast once Slayer - Complete the slayer log, get all souls Hunter - Hunt all BGH dinosaurs without getting caught Divination - Complete all the pillars at memorial of guthix Mining - Make the pickaxe of life and death, get the tagga's corehammer Smithing - Smith a tmw set, smith the 2h masterwork Fishing - Get first place on fish flingers for fishing, do fish frenzy for a set time Cooking - Make a primal feast Firemaking - Make every pyre ship, light all beacons in a set time, complete char achievements Woodcutting - Do every evil tree, get the imcando hatchet Farming - Complete the breeding log, breed a shiny 3t for each animal Summoning - Get all summoning pets, make all the binding contracts familiars Invention - Unlock all blueprints, unlock all machines Quest - Reach 100 floors on endurance mode at dominion tower, post quest achievements
That's crazy dude how dare you even suggest a poll?? It would be wild if such a thing actually worked where jagex could poll its players and get feedback on what we are actually interested in. Oh wait osrs going strong. anyways on a real note yeah just make it a rng drop like a skilling pet who cares about people being mad about rng, whine more they're supposed to be prestigious
i personally like the needing 120 for chance at getting it, then 200m guarantee' drop. or at 200m u can buy it from skillcape person for a large sum of coins for gold sink. id get paying like 20m per cape.
Just add them the the skill cape sellers so you can choose if you want to buy normal or inverted capes. Easy as that, not everything needs to be gatekept or put behind a mtx wall
I want the Dung and smithing inverted capes so badly. I managed to get the inverted magic cape though, but i dont really wear it. I like the master cape + pet idea.
