With Spider-Man: No Way Home currently breaking records at the box office, we can’t think of a better time to celebrate the character’s animated adventures. Although Spider-Man has appeared in several animated projects throughout his storied career as a web-slinging superhero, it’s Spider-Man: The Animated Series that is perhaps the most beloved by fans. The series aired on Fox Kids Network from 1994-1998 for a total of five seasons comprised of sixty-five episodes. That’s a lot of web-fluid, tons of quips, and plenty of bad guys left hanging upside down from telephone poles.
Naturally, the series follows Peter Parker, who is a college student at Empire State University. As Peter struggles to walk the line between being a diligent student and the city’s Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, he quickly discovers that he’ll have to be more than super if he plans on leading two lives. Thankfully, he won’t be alone in the endeavor, as characters the likes of Doctor Strange, Punisher, Daredevil, Iron Man, Captain America, the Fantastic Four, and even members of the X-Men will be there to lend him a helping hand. He’s going to need it too, what with the Lizard, the Spider-Slayer, Doctor Octopus, Kraven the Hunter, the Hobgoblin, and a version of the Sinister Six looking to make Spider-Man’s life miserable. A hero’s work is never done, and Peter is going to be reminded fairly quickly that with great power comes great responsibility.

Green Goblin, Hobgoblin (Mark Hamill), Venom, Rhino, Kraven, Doc Ock, and Shocker (Jim Cummings) were great! I guess Scorpion too but it would’ve been nice to have continued Venom after the Eddie Brock era.

Don't forget well written. Tried watching the new spiderman series, but it's so packed with stupid tech spiderman never had, pushes avengers teamups, and includes stupid 4th wall breaks with even dumber jokes that ruin the pace and immersion. Kids can handle series storylines, you dont need to put in stupidity and a spiderman themed jumbo jet, giant robot, or "spideymobile". Peter parker is supposed to be a poor kid who made his tech by himself, its part of what made him impressive. spiderman tas was the first show I even remember watching on TV, and the last season ended when I was 9. It's always been my favorite cartoon.

I just finished watching this series last night on Disney+ and man it was great. The storylines, character traits, motivations, life lessons, and the somewhat Avengers storyline where The Maker summons up a board game of chess where the players were based on good and evil. Now I shall start on watching the entire series run of Batman: The Animated Series, Superman: The Animated Series, MIB: The Animated Series, Todd McFarlene’s Spawn: The Animated Series, Young Justice, Static Shock, and many more.

Between Power Rangers, Batman TAS, Spider-Man TAS and X-Men TAS, Fox Kids sure had a powerhouse line-up back in the day. Both Bats and Spidey have always been my favorite superheroes, all thanks to their 90s cartoons. Chris Barnes will always be my go-to Spidey voice, just as Kevin Conroy's Batman is. So yeah, here's hoping they do bring him back somehow for the Spider-Verse sequels. If Tobey can be brought back to play Spidey in live-action, then Chris deserves to voice Spidey again too. I know he did 10 years ago for the Shattered Dimensions and Edge of Time games, but he wasn't OG Spidey in either of those.

This along with Spider-Man & His Amazing Friends are my definitive SM cartoons. Christopher Barnes did a incredible work as Spider-Man my one nitpick though was the clothes style for Peter Parker with the tucked in shirt short sleeve made him look like a dork I much preferred the John Romita inspired look from SM&HAF.

You do NOT want them to bring this back, and you DO NOT want them to bring back the X-Men. I know they were great, but bringing things back now, means they get a left/feminist twist, and they will shit on everything you love. Spiderman will be a fat black woman, venom will be a white man that has no powers but is called venom because he has opinions. The only villians on the show will be specific groups of people with certain views, and the only good guys will be self entitled "victims" that can only see the world through a lens of hate. They only bring things back to make them woke, and everything woke, is shit. Do NOT bring back spiderman, not yet, wait until the pendulum swings the other way.

This show was alright, but as far as I'm concerned X-Men the Animated Series was the benchmark for 90's Marvel cartoons. Actual battles, straight up racist comments, characters using almost adult level language, better storytelling. X-Men and Batman were light years ahead of this series.

All aside from the way Spider-Man was portrayed, in the movies studios mostly only wanted to focus on him as a kid, which is ridiculous. They really need to get over it and stop trying to appeal to a younger generation, it's been done time to move on. Christopher Daniel Barnes has always been the best portrayal of Spider-Man.

While somewhat cheesy it was ahead of its time with a multiverse and crossover with other marvel character. For me Roscoe lee brown remains the definitive kingpin. While others have come and gone his menacing and upper class voice lent an air of menace and sophistication to the character. Although hearing him say spidercarnage was funny

This animated series came out while I was in the Army. I would always watch it when I could catch it, it reminded me in some ways of the animated X-Men series. There was an episode where the X-Men teamed up with Spider-Man.

This was one of the best series of the 90's very much close to the comics. Avi Arad's involvement was a waste. The man seriously had no understanding of storytelling and all he cared about was money like the Salkinds. He is a douchebag.

This was a great series. It's unfortunate that they never got to do that final season where Peter goes on his quest to find Mary Jane. My favorite show was Amazing Friends, but this was a great show too.

I remember seeing that last episode as a kid and just thinking that the story would continue the following week. I stlll remember sitting down to watch Spider-Man...and it was a repeat. I was so disappointed.

I still have the shows background music and theme song stuck in my head after all these years. I almost remember every line spoken in this series. This show made me a lifelong spider-fan. Venom used to scare me and those to be continued episodes did as well depending how the episode ended. Thanks John Semper Jr and all the voice cast and crew of this show. F Avi.

It was my first introduction to spiderman as a kid in the 90's. Watched it on BBC, Saturday mornings in the UK, although it was often shown out of sequence and we didn't get the final series . FUCKING LOVED IT!! Recently did a full re-watch on Disney+.
