GI Joe Classified figures have been having problems since late 2022 with the Tiger Force figures being loose due to low quality plastic and Zarana and Cover Girl having bad paint applications and their arms fall off with the slightest pressure applied to simply bend the joints.
Really like the Clark Kent custom idea! I’ve had QC issues with many Classified figures over the past year (Zartan, BAT, and Viper three pack with stuck hips, Zarana and Cover Girl with arms falling off, Stalker with a left leg that’s loose and falls off at the hip joint, floppy bent weapons galore). What you’ve described are not isolated incidents, as QC issues have risen across all Hasbro figure lines. You can’t raise prices on customers, drop the quality of the products and expect positive feedback… Hasbro, like any other company, deserves the criticism.
When something is mass produced at a lower price point I give leeway to the idea that not every figure is going to come out perfect. However the quality in the Classified line seemed to begin to dip and become more widespread with Zaranna, Dusty, and Cover Girl. The issue with those figures was mainly the arms falling, or coming off easily. There were also reports that Cover Girls lower torso was put on upside down. I was fortunate, and dodged many of those issues with the figures I received, but I was beginning to get concerned with how widespread these QC issues were becoming. Hasbro seemed to do a good job at rebounding and improving their QC with the Copperhead, Shipwreck, Rock N Roll, Bazooka wave. But now we’re back to what’s happening with this wave. If a figure is defective, but you can easily get a replacement that isn’t going to have the same issues, then to me it’s not a big deal. However what is happening with this Firefly wave seems to be very common and is some of the worst QC I’ve seen in this line yet. My Firefly had the same issue as yours. My Tunnel Rat came with its proper accessories, but it’s neck is a little wobbly. Though not as bad as yours, but that might also be a byproduct of having mine all geared up, so maybe it’s just the gear keeping it from moving around as much. I haven’t received my Low Light yet, but my expectations are currently set very…I’d better stop before I inadvertent make a stupid pun. I just hope Hasbro becomes aware that some of the products they are putting out right now are subpar in quality and care enough to prevent them from reoccurring. This roller coaster of poor QC wave, followed by good quality wave, followed by poor QC wave, will get old fast.
I received my Tunnel Rat replacement today and he had the correct accessories this time. My Low Light was good, but my second Crimson Viper has extremely loose, wobbly hips
@@comix1017 I’m glad you got Tunnel Rat as intended the second go around. That’s nuts that it came with Crimson Vipers accessories. I saw someone else post about the same issue on Facebook, so unless that was also you, you aren’t the only one that has had that happen to. I ordered two Crimson Vipers, but have only got around to opening one. The one I opened is good. I decided to order a second Firefly to see if I have better luck. He’s my favorite G.I. Joe character. I haven’t decided whether or not I want to contact Hasbro Pulse about the faulty one yet to see about a refund. Part of me doesn’t want to bother, but on the other hand I don’t think Hasbro should have released a figure with such a common widespread issue. I guess my thinking is the more people that contact them requesting a refund or replacement, the more aware they become about a glaring QC issue. Which will hopefully deter similar things in the line moving forward.
Wow that sucks! Anyways my rock n roll figure came with a fused knee joint so his knee on the left leg was basically one piece.... I have had issues constantly with my joes! Many!
The answer is simple. They are charging us more money, and the toys are looking worse and worse. The packages are garbage and the molds are terrible. Broken parts should not shock you. Heck the figures can barely stand on their own.
Nothing broken for mine luckily, but people should not receive broken products period. I understand that things won't be perfect, I'm just concerned about how many issues there have been with this wave in particular
My Firefly has the exact same issue. If I hold him by the chest upside down completely vertical, the legs will pivot all the way in the direction if you tilt it at all. It will going through all the ab crunch detents until it hits the maximum range on the crunch, which is definitely a QC issue. The worst part is Target technically doesn't take returns on opened figures even if they're defective and Hasbros customer support is awful. I've had at least two or three other QC issues over the last year and EVERY time I had to contact Hasbro they first try to get away with sending a random figure as a make good, so they won't even send you a replacement of what you actually bought. Then if you tell them that their method of solving the issue isn't a satisfactory solution at all, which it isn't, they give you a shipping label and ask you to ship the figure to them to get a check. A few times though the check, which takes weeks to arrive, doesn't even cover tax so you end up getting back less than what you actually spent.
Another instance of low quality plastic was shown with the D&D cartoon characters action figures. Nearly every single action figure in the first wave broke in people's hands.
Hasbro changed to a lower quality plastic that couldn't stand up to the normal and expected stresses of bending joints, twisting joints, swapping hands, and swapping heads. From September of 2022 with the first WINDOWLESS boxes wave of Power Rangers Lightning Collection figures the figures boke when trying to pull off the human heads that were put on the figures. People wanted the helmeted heads so of course they pulled off the heads to swap them and the entire figure broke!
Got a crimson viper with a very warped elbow joint and I've just sent the Deadpool 2 pack back to pulse because the peg that goes through the pelvis isn't fused properly in the middle. I hope classified doesn't end up like Hasbro's other lines with downward spiralling value and effort. They could either improve the plastic on the weapons, improve QC and be the reigning champion of budget figure lines or they could kill their cash cow by insulting the collectors with the "that will do" approach.
Definitely hoping Classified doesn't go downhill like Power Rangers. I've never been a big Legends collector, but I never expect much out of them. But GI Joe has set the bar really high and they need to not start mistepping, I just want figures with the right accessories, nothing missing, that can stand and move, shouldn't be too much to ask
Another "unexpected" problem (although it doesn't take much brain power to see this potential problem) with the WINDOWLESS boxes is that people get missing, double, or wrong accessories with the action figures. Sometimes even the wrong action figure entirely. This is most likely a problem from the factory and this problem would not exist if proper window boxes were used where literally ANYONE would be able to perform the simple quality control stop of looking in the box to make sure everything is there and in good shape.
The very expensive zords from the Power Rangers Zords Ascension Project has been plagued with problems of breaking in people's hands while transforming the toys - as designed and expected! This is most likely due to low quality plastic being used that can't stand up to the normal and expected use of actually TRANSFORMING the zords.
Hasbro switched to WINDOWLESS boxes to hide the quality control issues they knew they would have. Hasbro got really cheap with paint applications which they hid in WINDOWLESS boxes.
I can pretty much guarantee that your replacement Tunnel Rat will have head-wobble. That seems to be a "feature" that is universal to all releases. However, your Crimson Viper accessory error is not uncommon. I have seen another review that had this issue and that came directly from Hasbro. I don't fully understand the QC issues. If I try to trace back production, the fault has to be with the manufacturer. I seriously doubt they sent Hasbro's GIJOE TEAM a head bobble version to sign off on. Once they agreed to the production sample, the manufacturing company probably shaved quality to make more money off Hasbro. Once produced, there isn't much Hasbro can do about it.
My replacement Tunnel Rat was totally fine. I understand that things happen and that nothing is going to be perfect, especially something as mass produced as this. What's strange to me is this toyline in particular hasn't really seemed to have many major problems until this particular wave, which is pretty troubling
I bought 2 first version Snake Eyes when he first came out. Both are crazy loose on the ab crunch area. I used Kiki Loose joint solution to fix al the squirrely joints. But wow on that Tunnel Rat. That is horrible. My new Firefly is good. He came with his head off and body was all out of whack. feet facing 90 degrees the wrong way. Back was arched as much as it could go. It was like they tried to break him before they shipped him. He somehow survived and is good.

I got my Tunnel Rat from Target, so I just reported it thru the Target website and got a free replacement. Hasbro customer service can be a bit more of a hassle, but I believe you just have to email them, it should be on the hasbro Pulse website
My Crimson Vipers forearms can shake like Tunnel Ratt’s neck and head I returned them that’s the second Firefly I’ve seen with issues I think Ed209’s had major issues with a huge gap at the waist between the belt and the starting of the abdomen area. He literally could put firefly’s remote detonator in the gap. It all started with the cheap gummy guns I’m going to be irate if the Hiss Tank feels cheap.
The one that struck here was the white plastic discoloring on recent Transformers (Siege/Kingdom line). Turning yellow. Even when kept away from sunlight. Yellowing while still in the package on shelves! They "fixed" that ... who knows what the cause was. Most of us are just waiting for something else to discolor on the newest Legacy figures. Plus, the new Nacelle release and its wings show up to many buyers covered in mold spores. Lovely.
Tunnel Rat is one of the worst figures from the Classified line, he has a loose neck, his bandolier doesn’t fit on him, & the worst part he can’t even hold his weapons nor any other weapons from the Joe line I found only one weapon he can hold and that’s from a marvel Legends figure from a long time ago.
MONEY = LIFE. People spend their lives working to make money. That money is people's lives. When people spend money for something that something needs to be worth it. Anyone accepting low quality products is devaluing their own lives. People need to put more thought and care into what they buy.
@@comix1017 Hasbro knew what they were doing. They know the majority of their customers are adults. Hasbro thought most people would keep the figures in the box and leave them unopened. Or Hasbro just didn't care.
Not a new phenomenon- Hasbro quality has been terrible for almost 10 years now. Your first statement in the beginning is concerning, you said you try not to complain. Here’s where I have to challenge you: it’s not complaining when these figures have these problems. You paid for it, regardless of what you paid, especially if it’s a figure in clearance, these will be going up to $30 next year. Stop buying Hasbro figures, and I promise these kinds of problems will stop. Buy valaverse if you want military 6 inch figures that don’t break.
What? I seen lots of issues with Valaverse. With that said, I have some and I am mature enough to like both lines. They can compliment each other. No company is flawless but they should do better.
@@Mrknifeskill he first wave had problems. All that they were transparent about, and offered to fix. There hasn't been any widespread issues like that since then.
@@Chronically0nline That seems to be true. Valaverse admitted the problem and worked to fix it and make sure it didn't happen again. Hasbro tried to hide their problem in WINDOWLESS boxes.

However, people's money would be better spent on Valaverse because Hasbro has known problems that Hasbro refuses to acknowledge or fix. The GI Joe designs are great, but the figure is no good if it breaks in your hand while simply bending a joint as designed and expected.
