I've had trouble getting excited about hockey since covid, but seeing the Jets do so well this season has gotten me back into it!

MY JETS ARE 1ST OVERALL IN THE LEAGUE. NEVER HAVE I EVER FELT MORE EXCITED FOR THIS TEAM SINCE 2018

Bringing in Rick Bowness, and then addressing their locker room issues has been key. Adam Lowry was the perfect choice to wear the C, because he's a no-nonsense straight forward hard working guy that doesn't need to stand on the teeter-totter of scoring goals in order to make an impact. Reminds me a bit of Craig Conroy's Flames when they went to the cup. A team that was working together and willing to work hard.

Jets have the depth they haven't had since 2019 thanks to Chevy. Acquiring Niederreitter and Namestnikov for 2nd and 4th round picks last year was the start and then the haul he got for Dubois in June being Vilardi, Iafallo and Kupari have provided solid depth to the core that was already in place. Forwards are deep and the D pairings work well together, combine that with elite goaltending and buy in from everyone and you get these results. Jets absolutely should be viewed as serious contenders.

Glad Bones is back behind the bench,love how they rallied around Coach & his ailing Wife. The Jets are scary good!

as an edmontonian, the jets have always been my favourite canadian team. love the team identity, fan base and players! the culture here in etwon can be pretty toxic but the jets seem to put in honest blue collar work time and time again with only a fraction of the star power.

Not sure the Jets got owned by Vegas in round 1 like everyone seems to remember. They had a dominant win in game 1 and then lost in OT in game 2. I think if they had managed a 2-0 series lead going back to Winnipeg the end result could have been quite different. After losing game 3 is when players like Dubois and Wheeler slow quit on the season, and it's obvious now that unloading them was good for the culture. But it was mostly the same squad and they had the right system with less than 100% buy in. I'm glad Cheveldayoff saw what he had and ignored all the media narratives.

So the Pierre-Luc Dubois was traded to the Los Angeles Kings by the Winnipeg Jets for forwards Gabriel Vilardi (7 goals 15 points 18 games), Alex Iafallo (7 goals 17 points -32 games), and Rasmus Kupari (0 goals 1 point 15 points excellent PK player}, and a second-round pick (Montreal's) in the 2024 NHL Draft. All of these players fit into the system they are playing. Chevy has done a remarkable job. Resigning Nino Niederreiter for 3 more years, Vladislav Namestnikov for 2 more years, Mark Scheifele for 7 more years and Connor Vesinabuck for 7 more years. Remarkable work! Adam Lowry as the new captain who been great. They have the best 3rd line (Iafallo, Lowry and Appleton) in the leauge and they are killing it. Lastly this team hasn't allowed more than 3 goals against in 26 games! There's much more but...

I'm so happy with our season so far, but I know things can change quickly. Go Jets Go! ✈️

Last year going into the break they were up there at the top of the central as well. But like I said elsewhere, they were STEALING games last year. Either via Hellebuyck or lucky breakdowns and the other teams mistakes allowing us to outscore our poor defense. Every win felt like a dodged bullet. This year they are earning every single game, smothering everyone defensively. Very happy for all the guys on that team who seem to be really enjoying hockey this year. Looking forward to healthy Kyle Connor. And I have to say, Nino and Namestnikov are invaluable. For a 2nd round and 4th round pick... every game that passes Chevy looks like more of a genius.

Been here in Winnipeg since 2014, have been to more games than I can count, and im excited to see more white out parties this spring! Excited to see how Perfetti finishes out the season.

I love how Valiardi is outplaying Pierre-Luc Dubois by a wide margin. Exactly why I was thrilled that the Habs didn't go after PLD. He's a middling talent.

Kyle Connor has been one of my favourite players to watch these last few seasons as a Flyers fan.

Thanks Johnny Hawkey, I have been looking all day, not kidding, for some recognition for my Jets, and you were the first one to do so. Yes a year ago at this time they actually led the western conference for a short time. Then they fell off a cliff, I know, I know. Why is it different this time? Because last season every game was a teeth clenching, armchair squeezing stress fest. They were winning but winning all wrong. This season it’s actually enjoyable watching them win. They can keep a lead, score when behind too. Probably the best 2.0 team I’ve seen

As a bolts fan, I can’t help but be happy for the jets

With three scoring lines, Vezina level goaltending, and a very reliable backend, it's hard not to assume the Jets look to be the team to beat in the western conference. Makes me happy they don't play Vancouver at all until the end of the season as a die hard Canucks fan lol

The Jets are entertaining and playing smart, committed hockey. Big breath of fresh air after the past few seasons.

I am beyond excited for both Winnipeg and Vancouver. Both teams are so exciting to watch.

1 point back of first in the central, 2 points back of first in the league. I'd also like to note that the Canucks, another team lots of people expected to miss the playoffs, are also very much in the hunt for the President's Trophy. I don't know if I can remember a year where the top 8 teams were all within 4 points of 1st place, though that might be because I haven't had much reason to care. It's a great year for hockey fans in Western Canada.

Since November 24 the Jets are 12-4-2, for a total of 26 points in 18 games. 1.44 points per game, for a points% of 72.22. They're the second hottest team in the league over this span, second only to Edmonton.

Imagine if PLD had signed in Winnipeg, they’d be out of the playoffs right now.

im so happy to see the jets doing so good, ive grown up with them as my household's team (im a kraken fan now tho haha) and theyve always had potential imo! i cant wait to see them back in full force with kyle connor back and healthy

Maybe they are playing a bit above expected but for the first time in a long time, they are playing to their potential and have actual structure to their game. Their defence might be better than expected but they have always had depth at forward.

Are the Jets for real? Depends what criteria you judge them by. If you go by integrity and buy in to a system and adherence to the old adage that there is no “I” in team, they are top in the league. Winnipeg is a humble little city and this is a humble little team. None of the players have individual agendas, they all to a man play as part of a team and are 100% on board with their coaching staff. Each member of the ream is in the place they want to be in, geographically and psychologically. They are well poised to take on their challenges one at a time and they have a great next of the season ahead of them. It’s a great time to be a Jets fan.

It’s the buy in. Once the organization moved the pieces that needed to be moved, we have a band of brothers that will go put in the effort when they play. I know the beginning of last season looked good then it switched after the all star break so I’m hopeful they can stay healthy and keep the momentum for that deep play off run! Go Jets Go!

Pens will be comfortably in by game 60 I think. They are only 4 points out of second place and their metrics are top tier. Somehow they were mediocre in record for 25 games despite it but hockey finds a way to make sense of the numbers in the end

The Jets are deep like the Marianas trench. In previous years having their top scorer sidelined would have relegated them to .500 hockey, but not this year.

jets have been too loyal for too long, thats what led to their mediocrity. It took Paul Maurice having to leave on his own for changes for this organization. Wheeler definitely needed to go. Dubois is not a player you can lean on and Jets got back huge depth with Vilardi and Iafallo playing great.

As a Jets fan I'm just happy to see them have a year that matches their level of talent. They usually do great but then "fall of the wagon", the only difference this season is that they're consistently showing up. Go Jets Go!!! I wouldn't say they're having a particularly great year but moreso the previous years weren't so good for them cuz they're truly an amazing team

This team only gets better, Rutger Mcgroaty will slot perfectly into this line-up to. Lowry Mcgroaty Nino next year

They are solid on all levels. Deep at forward, defence and in goal. The coach has also got every guy to buy into the system. If this team could win a few more draws and get out of their own way on the PP, they could go a long way.

Ngl, even though I'm pulling for the Avs, it's nice to see a team be like "That's not how it's going to go down" even if they're in the division.

Winnipeg is still paying for Wheeler for the next 2 seasons. One of those many long term deals that don't pan out. Lowry is a underated captain no doubt

They are for real, Wheeler (bullied Laine) and Dubois (team?) contributed to the dressing room malaise. With them gone, and the 3 for 1 with LA, great depth.

Chevy and Bones should be taking home hardware, along with a lengthy Stanley Cup run

If Winnipeg and Vancouver win their divisions and if Edmonton and Calgary manage to get in via Wild Card, then definitely looking forward to an all Canadian 1st Rd Playoff match between those 4 teams!

Why is nobody talking about how much synergy and crazy depth vilardi, neitteriter, and iafalo have near the net? Especially neitteriter where he is an absolute master at manipulating the puck in tight situations

Jets are for real this season, plenty of depth, best 5on5 in the league, very solid D, Helle playing lights out, decent backup. Top contender for sure.

I used to be a loyal jets fan, But I since I wasn't allowed to go to a game because I chose my health over the fauchi ouchie.... I can't be bothered caring, or supporting them(or any other team) They didn't want my money and support then, so they sure ain't getting it now..

They have depth scoring, their best offensive players have bought into the Bone’s defence first system, and they are playing as a team not a collection of individuals. Their PP sucks, and their PK is weak. But 5 x 5 their numbers are stunning and their D, who looked weak, are steady. This is very different than last year. So I don’t expect them to win every game but with stunning goaltending and a new level of commitment and confidence- I can’t wait for each and every game. Bravo coaching staff and GM. Bravo to all of the players.

Still waiting for the wheels to fall-off them and the Canucks - I've seen this movie before, and I know how it ends by now. Either with a 1st round 'upset' or a game 7 kick to the five-hole in the Finals.

This is why I love the Jets. They are not a one or two star team. All players are sharing the load and acting like a team!

jets been great all year.. even when they were losing at the start, and ppl moaned -- for no reason ---, they were playing tough hard hockey.

I am not a PLD fan, never have been. I thought it was a good idea for Winnipeg to get rid of him, but there is no way I thought they would get half of what they got from LA. The Jets dump a total diva and get a haul in return! That to me has been the difference. Good on them for doing as well as they have so far, and a lot of it lately without Connor.

A huge part of the Jets success is their ability to get the puck out of their own end quickly and efficiently. This season they just don't play in their own zone very much. opposition shots are from the outside for the most part and both of their goalies look solid. I think the Jets goal keepers actually trust their defensemen which allows them to play better..

I’ve been saying this for last few seasons already, Jets are the best team on paper in the Nhl. From goaltending to D to FWDs, they got both top end talent and depth. At their best, they can skate with EVERY team, at EVERY position. The thing lacking too often is the drive and passion. If they decide to not just throw in the towel, then yes they are very legit, and very capable of atleast a confetence finals appearance

If some how VAN and WPG make it to a final together, one of those cities it getting burned to the ground if they lose. Lol
