I heard the word "hydration" at a conference once and everyone seemed to know exactly what it is, but me.

hey Ondrabus,, Lovely and to the point explanation. Instant Subscribe!. I need to use a framework with hydration for a new project . My team is not that comfortable on react, what other frameworks DO support hydration? (strictly client side framework, back-end is not node (or any JS).

Hi Kevin, thanks :) if your team is not experienced with JS frameworks, I'd recommend starting with Vue.js. It's easier than React and still has a ton of resources online (articles, videos, etc.). The v3 was released just at the end of last year and is a very good fit for almost all-sized projects.

@@Ondrabus Thank you so much for replying. So the idea is to use it only for front end. Does Vue (Vue3) support hydration? Also, going through the docs, it seems there are multiple versions of vue, not sure which to use for front-end only stuff. Do we need only runtime OR do we use global one which has "compilation". Totally going crazy over the documentation.

@@kevinshah_tv Yes, any JS framework features ways to get remote data on the front-end, thus supports hydration. You can use any version of Vue for front-end only functionality. You can start very small (v3.vuejs.org/guide/introduction.html#getting-started) with one Vue instance or use a starter with a build tool (v3.vuejs.org/guide/installation.html) which then compiles your build. The docs are very good, but try to take one step at a time to make sure it's not overwhelming 🙂
