It’s difficult explaining to someone why I paid over $1000 for a pair of shoes that looks like shit as time goes on and saying it’s like art that changes as you wear it. I feel like I’m justifying some BS but there’s a huge difference in mindset between people who buy to resell and have something as a status icon and people who buy to consume and enjoy. When you buy to consume you begin to truly appreciate the materials and how they feel and wear over time and you purchase things to use and enjoy, and I feel that’s something people who buy shoes and wrap them in plastic and try to not crease them will never ever understand. They’ll go on and on about the smell of new shoes and how the leather is supple but they’ll buy in at $120 and say “but resell is $1000!”, but the materials are still crap. Beautiful shoes, they look great with shorts and no socks. But it’s annoying having to explain to people who don’t understand or know what you’re wearing. Great video.
Absolutely right. I think the easy answer is, you don't need to explain or get their approval. If you're happy with your purchase, that's all the approval you need :)
