4:22 pretty sure with trainer battles they're trying to make the trainer appear in the same way the sprites did in the original games since it is a faithful remaster. It's a cool touch but does kinda look bad
I've played the pre-release alpha of pokemon Unite like a year ago and Blastoise was in it and was the strongest by far with Hydro Pump that shit was crazy, they probably cant find a way to balance him enough lol
Legends Arceus looks sick imo definitely getting it when it releases. The diamond and pearl remakes look alright, I'm probably only going to get them as it's the only generation I never played.
@@suziebelle3738 Yeh, I can see that. Personally I'm not hard to impress, I just see pokemon games as fun little games to collect pokemon and to waste some time.
The only thing I’m not big on about Legends is how the Pokémon are textured and shaded compared to the environment around them. They feel a bit out of place compared to the more natural looking environments they are in. Otherwise the game doesn’t look too bad and I’m interested in it and BDSP.
I think Legends looks pretty good tbh. The graphics are bad but if the gameplay is good and the frame rate isn’t completely garbage I feel like it’ll be an enjoyable experience
i know saying this is beating a dead horse but you’d really think the game would be a little prettier from the most commercially successful brand on earth. i’m keeping my hopes up that it’ll improve but the trailer isn’t doing it any favors lol. they should just steal botws lighting i won’t tell i promise
@@primalknight I think the quality is good enough to the point where it’s a reasonable purchase but not so high that it’s the big revolution Pokémon has been needing. However I feel if legends sells poorly game freak won’t experiment with Pokémon in the next 4-6 years
Ok cool, I wasn't going crazy. I really like the art style. That combined with the shading gives it a feel somewhere between SwSh and New Snap and I think it looks really nice.
I watched this live, and really enjoyed the aspects of you doing it later so you could pause and see most of the takes on it, really good stream thumbs up from me!!
They added more Depth of View, a blur effect. A completely different lighting system, and changed lots of textures to make them pop more in BDSP. They didn't just change contrast. I still think it looks a little funky but it's a little foolish to say they barely changed anything
in my personal opinion i like a lot of people love Pokémon but i realized when i was 10 that its essentially the same game, the latest Pokémon game i played was pokén tournament and even though not a lot off people liked it i did i thought it was a fresh way to look at the combat system and i think i would enjoy the games and pick them up again if they changed the combat system a bit even if its a option in the controls menu where you can choose turn based or not i feel like a lot of people would go back to playing it because its not the same thing with THIS TIME NEW BIG POKEMON AND ALSO NEW POKEMON CLASS CHAIR all these minor changes that don't do much for it being playable
As an older Pokémon fan who hasn’t bought a Nintendo product since black and white 2, do you boys think the gen 4 remakes are gonna be worth it? Cuz if so I have to buy a new console too and I don’t want to throw that money away
it just looks like a 3d re-skin of the tile grid environment from the ds, and i dont think the little features they added (clothes, contest minigame, following pokemon) make it worth buying. if you've played diamond/pearl already, probably not worth it
If you really enjoyed the original Sinnoh games, feel free to buy it. Legends will definitely be the bigger release though. If Pokémon is your only interest, a 3DS is likely the smarter buy. However you could play MK8 Deluxe, BOTW, Odyssey, ACNH and many more. I’d say it’s worth it, although I prefer the 3DS console over the Switch.
Legends Arceus has areas that look beautiful and then some areas that look terrible and just empty. The "boss" pokemon don't look that intimidating. The lighting on the pokemon models looks out of place in some areas Animations could be tweaked a bit on some pokemon Maybe more like animations and like graphics during like boss fights to make them seem cooler Overall it just needs ALOT more work put into it i don't even really care if it get's delayed i just want a actual good pokemon game
I think the only things that are too bad are like the fucking mountains/rocks and like the grass and trees. Its like a fucking playstation 2 game, why are they so cheap
The frame-rate in this trailer is definitely better than the previous trailer, but they’ve clearly had to sacrifice a-lot to get it to run smoothly. I really hope they delay it so that It can meet expectations.
The chat is filled with so many fucking pepegas holy shit. Pokemon Legends Arceus has 5+ months until it releases. Since the first trailer until this recent trailer, the game has shown significant graphical improvements. The frame rate has definitely improved by a mile. Can the environment be more fleshed out with vegetation and other cool shit? Yeah and I wouldn't doubt the graphical artists are doing that *right now*. There is going to be enough time for the game to see improvements. Just bunker down and relax. Holy shit. Also maybe don't insult people interested in the game or the artists putting their effort into making something that legitimately looks very nice (at least from my perspective.)
I get what Connor is saying about the previous saturated graphics in the BDSP. I also liked it but majority of he people hated it for that because it looked like a mobile game. People that hate the present unsaturated version are very less, so I guess it is a W
The reason a lot of peopke think bdsp looks better now is because the colour palette is more in line with the original and the textures for thd grass looks better. Plus the trees dont look as plastic as before. It was all too bright
I agree for the most part that arceus doesn't look very good graphicly lmao, but i think for the most part people really just want a new breath of fresh air in the core pokémon gameplay. The arguments about gamefreak and the pokemon company's horrible business strategies didn't really become a huge mainstream issue until pokemon sword and shield was revealed along with the realization that the national dex wasn't going to be included, to "improve game animations, and to deal with game balance," only to include features such as dynamax which directly contradicts arguments such as improving game balance. not to mention the complete lie that improving game animations was, but that's frankly a whole other situation derived from the same issues plaguing pokemon currently. I don't argue at all with the point that gamefreak/ the pokemon company are shitty at their jobs and could 100% do better, but i think a lot of people forget that pokemon games bring in the smallest amount of revenue compared to their other sources, such as the trading cards, anime/movies, and other merchandise. the money from the pokemon games is like a drop in the ocean compared to literally every other source of revenue in the entire company. people often complain about how quickly the pokemon company develop and release games, but the entire infrastructure of the company relies on these games to be released on time. frankly, gamefreak or the pokemon company dont give a single shit about the main games anymore (or any of them lmao) but they are necessary to keep every other part of the company running. Yes, they could, and should, just extend their yearly or whatever how long cycle of releasing new games and cards ect ect but looking at the whole situation from a economic lens: why would they? The games are essentially a stepping stone to actual profits so why would they spend all their time on the most insignificant part of their own revenue stream? For example, the pokemon company sold nearly 4 billion pokemon cards from 2020-2021, while only 12 million games where sold within the same time. 12 million is a lot, dont get me wrong, but 4 billion is WAY more. the games cant even dream to be as financially viable as the cards alone; the pokemon company has sold a total of 380 million games during their entire company's lifespan and it doesnt even come close to the amount of cards sold in ONE YEAR. I'm not defending their shitty business practices because they are profitable, but im showing that because it IS profitable, there's really no reason for them to change what they are doing. What im trying to say in this giant ass tangent is that you are fully in the right to criticize the games for their shitty graphics and gamefreak/ the pokemon company's horrible business model, and i even encourage it. the only way for the games to improve it to criticize them. But at the same time i do think people get way to frustrated with game freak for the wrong things, and i also feel like people build their expectations up only for them to be tumbled down. Sure, the game looks like shit. I agree but I think gamefreak REALLY needs to focus on the core gameplay which frankly if you ask me has been slowly getting worse and worse up until gen 8 when they lit it up in flames. and I do think (while it does kind of look like a BOTW knockoff) arceus is that correct step in the right direction. We obviously need to wait and see the full game, because it could very well be a walk around an empty field simulator, but in my opinion its the most promising thing we've seen from them in years. ultimately, please shit on gamefreak and pokemon, but please prioritize the things that desperately need to be criticized, such as horrible game balance and horrible gimmicks or removing fun gimmicks, instead of things that (are valid arguments, pokemon IS the highest grossing franchise ever,) are ultimately very surface level criticisms. I do agree that the games could look better, and it would be very cool to see a super awesome looking pokemon game, but I, personally, can never EVER see them in a million years doing that, for all the reasons described above. It just isn't worth it to them at all. the games as they are sell fine and i think people who legitimately think that pokemon is gonna step up their games graphically is just setting themselves up for defeat. ultimately, shit on gameplay, then graphics. thank you for reading my ted talk (also if you think either of these games r going to look better graphically on launch ur clowning urself 🤡🤡🤡)
i agree with the arguments connor brought up. We shouldn't settle for less this is a multi billion dollar franchise and this is what they are pumping out in terms of graphics. Not to mention the style of brilliant diamond and shining pearl is just plain lazy (Even SWSH looked better imo). We now have the means to have 3d anime like models and buildings and we get a game that's just a textured recreation of a sprite game. Games are not remade to match the original, they are made to reimagine the original had they no graphic limitations. (Give Arceus a delay we can wait and fix the graphics for SP and BD.)
i will not be purchasing pokemon brilliant diamond or pokemon shining pearl or pokemon legends arceus for they are not available on any huawei device, connor!
having never played gen 4, i’m hyped for the storyline, soundtrack, and the other side features they had for the trailer (the rhythm game, mining, etc) but at the same time, still not sold on the graphics. the overworld still just sorta looks like an oversaturated, cheap, roblox game. meh.
i just don't understand why they can't get better TEXTURES. The Pokémon and the player both look great but the rocks, grass and trees look like a fucking playstation 2 game on meth. ITS INFURIATING. still gonna buy and play that shit tho ngl
i love pokemon so much but god i want them to actually finish fleshing out the game before releasing it, and it sucks that i know i’ll probably buy them 😐
Gonna be honest neither game seems too bad. Graphics are rough but as long as they’re fun and have a good amount of content I won’t mind too much. Oshawott supremacy
the problem is gamefreak is incompetent so they need a stronger console as a crutch to get the games to run well - and the switch is a weak piece of trash. literally every pokemon game since XY has had spots where the fps drops to unacceptable levels, and this game (arceus) looks like it's going to permanently run at those levels. like BOTW was locked to 30fps, but at least it looks decent and almost always stayed at 30 fps, this trash looks x5 worse and will probably only be at 30fps in very constricted areas
