WTF Maverick is Going On: How to Get One and What to Know. Don't Get Fooled! 

It amazes me people put up with all the nonsense you have to go through to get a maverick. We tried to buy one in 2022. We ordered it, and when it came in, the dealer slapped a 10 grand markup on it. They eventually dropped it down to 6 grand markup. However, we just refused out of principal. Then it took a phone call from our attorney to get our deposit back! Now, in 2023, you can technically order one again without markups ,however, they have jacked the prices up. So basically, a well equipped one cost over 30 grand! It's no longer a deal! If I'm going to pay over 30 grand, I'm going to buy a better vehicle. It just doesn't make sense anymore. It started out as a good idea. It's an affordable cheap little truck. Now it's turned into some kind of weird status thing to have one. Lol! It's simply absurd....😂

I got my Maverick recently after waiting 1 year and 1 month. I chose to not get the spray-in bed liner because of reports it would delay my order. I decided to let my Ford dealer apply the liner after I got it. I was so worried that the after-market spray in liner wouldn't be as good as the factory liner I saw in a friend's Maverick before I ordered mine, but guess what: the after-market liner is way better! My dealer had a company called Patriot do mine, and it's thicker and darker black and seems tougher. I'm happy I got the after-market liner.

I ordered my Maverick in October of 22 and received it in January of 23. It’s a lariat hybrid with the 360 assist packages and it ended up being about $31k. I love this truck!! I love driving this truck in the city and on the highway. This truck is amazing at hauling 4x8 sheets and 8 foot boards plus all the other yard stuff I use. This truck easily gets 43 mpg in the city and 36-38 on the highway. For me it was well worth the wait and I’d do it all over again. I’m not surprised that you’re getting calls on Maverick trucks.

Johnny I ordered a Maverick XLT hybrid, catucus gray. September 15 2022 from Marcotte Ford in Holyoke Ma. I followed your recommendations about accessories, however, I did leave the hitch on. I picked it up October 20, 2023. Price was protected, in fact I received 12.00 to my credit! My dealer was great to work with, I plan on having my vehicle serviced with them. Thanks to you and Mattie for all the advice. You certainly know your cars!

My car was dying. Clutch going, brakes shot, hole in the muffler. Ford has priced me out on new. I got a 2022 maverick lariat with heated leather steering wheel, plastic bed liner, ecoboost, 4K tow package. With 40k mileage. Still a year on warranty.

I ordered an XLT on 7/17, Hybrid. No build date yet per the dealer. I'll wait a little bit more but then I'm moving on. Ford needs to get their move on. And the dealers with markups on '23s can suck it.

Dude I feel and hear your pain. I've watched and waited and hunted this damn trucklet since end of 2021. Between ADMs of $5-10K, trucks listed as "for sale" that weren't even on lot / were customer orders / or trying to actually ORDER one from Ford website and wait 6-12 months / and the list of BS goes on and on........Number 1 issue is the ADM. I looked at this vehicle from the perspective of "cool looking and good MPG with a reasonable amount of options if I wanna go that route" and end up with a cool trucklet that I would enjoy. Well - two full years later - I was still getting the runaround. I just bought a 2023 Mav with Tremor and XLT Lux package USED with 1,579 miles on it. A LOT of searching. Still paid $1,000 over what MSRP was, but it's sitting in MY DRIVEWAY. Did NOT pay $5-10k over MSRP for new that may or may not be delivered. These are indeed stupid crazy times. I - like youself - am not exactly happy with this fiasco, but I will say this - it's definitely worth pursuing. It was worth all my hours of scouring the net. And the unfortunate fact is - dealers KNOW what a hot commodity it is. And are gouging every step ofthe way. I really thinkj it's worth over what MSRP is, and I paid accordingly. But NOT $5-10 k over MSRP

My order is 397 days old for an XL Ecoboost with only full size spare and tow hitch receiver. Dealer says order is confirmed and a priority 3. I am getting tired of waiting. Not even scheduled yet and it is a 23 rollover to 24.

I 0rdered my new 2024 Maverick on July 17th and have confirmation and a vin number for production the week of November 11/06/23. I ordered the XLT with awd a full size spare tire and engine block heater. And that was it for options.

Wow that pepper red sharpest color of all of them. the white 2nd sharpest looking. 3rd velocity blue. Alto blue looks black don't pop. area 51 the worst color then cyber orange which is school bus yellow. Just an opinion 😊

Does the turbo 2.0 need premium fuel? A lot of turbos do. That really affects the operating costs.

The great Scotty Kilmer just reccomended the Maverick Eco Boost only. It's the only Ford I would buy at the moment. Great channel Johnny!

lol..I got VERY lucky...someone ordered one a year ago and then turned it down when it came in..I was standing at the dealer when they put it on the front line and snatched it up before the porter got out of the truck...bought it for MSRP (i have never paid MSRP EVER in my life but whatever)..got very lucky

The reason i would still order the remote starter option is the keyfob range. on our two ecosports without remote start the keyfobs only get about 50-75 feet. when u are trying to blink ur lights to find your car in a big parking lot its not very helpful. with my f250 with remote start i can just about reach across the whole parking lot. its significantly better. i suspect the remote start fobs have higher output power.

I ordered my Ford maverick XLT July 17. Got a notice it was going to be built the week of October 30. Then recently got another notice saying it was delayed till week of November 13. I’m getting anxious!

Are Dealers giving any discounts on special order Mavericks in 2023 now?

Ordered an Ecoboost back in september 2022. It was built last june, arrived in Montreal in late august. It stayed there until last week (nearly two months) and now its stuck in Quebec city, my seller has no idea why and has no views of when its gonna be delivered just across the St-Laurent to my dealer... My Maverick has now been in transport for 4 monthts and I tought getting it builts was the hard part LOL.

I ordered a 23 XLT Hybrid. It was order Sept 22. It arrived at the Portland Ore rail yard in April 23. The truck has been sitting there ever since. They found the hybrid battery had been removed (stolen) and the power cords cut. They finally said it was delivered, but it wasn’t. So now I can’t track the order because the vin number is not correct any more. Fortunately, the Ford people call me telling me they are trying to contact the shipping company to figure out what went wrong. Ford people have been good, but it’s still frustrating.

there aren't any awds in stock anywhere near me. there are a few "in transit," but dealerships cant even see them on their system yet .

Just curious when you order the Maverick 2024. When does your monthly payment start? When your truck got delivered or right away?

I’m sure it’s the same story with Lightnings. I ordered a Pro early August 2023 with nothing added except the red color which costs extra :/. The website advertised October delivery or production but of course I didnt believe it. If I get it in 2023 I’ll still qualify for the tax credit but not in 2024 😢. If I get it in 24 at least I’ll have more time to save money for the down payment 🤷🏻‍♀️. I’ll be trading in my hybrid Maverick which I really like but in California it does not qualify to drive in the carpool lane which I need, only EV or PHEV qualifies.

Johnny if you have a hybrid with lux and 360 I will drive out and buy from ya😊

placed my order on back in July this on open day for 2024 Ford Maverick. placed a $500 deposit with a sign contract from floor manger I will pay MSRP only with no add ons from the dealership. The day I arrived to place my oder they don't me one day before open bank that Ford is going to allocate certain hybrids to Ford dealership due to hi demands for the hybrid version actually me being from Southern California Hybrids Maverick is almost impossible to get without paying upwards 10K over MSRP. Lucky for me I oder from a very hi selling volume store. I got locked it. as many others received around 80-150 pre order Hybrid VS Turbo and lot of dealerships had advised the customers were unable to fulfill your order on Hybrid. but if you want Turbo engine no problem. A vehicle is currently in production and I'm sure I will receive it sometime in December that's approximately five months from order date to delivery.

I order my XLT hybrid Maverick in September '22. Got a build date for October 30, but it got pushed to November 20 now. In fairness, I did add accessories like hitch and spare tire. When I did the rollover, I also added the roll top bed cover 😬
