Which would be so stupid as they're doing two whole different Jokers and two Batmen in the movies, but TV will somehow confuse us. All so Gunn can try to have the same actor doing the movie, game and any animated related project. They will never learn, the stupid Bat embargo of the 90s hurt more than it helped.

First, they force the writers to make a pointless retcon that it was never part of the Arrowverse despite multiple Diggle cameos and references to Oliver's death and the Crisis for TWO WHOLE SEASONS!!!!! And now this crap? I wish the characters from most of the DCTV shows came back for another multiverse crossover since many of these shows didn't get a proper ending and have it end with most of those shows retconned in the same universe just like the Crisis did with the CW DC shows at the time!

It kinda did have an ending the Arrowverse Crossover comic and yes that wasn't actually an ending either accept they showed us what happened to the Legends despite the shows showing us that in the finale season they were sent to prison but yeah the crossover comic was the ending for that for some strange reason

This is the opposite of what happened to the last Superman related show. Krypton was canceled by the channel Syfy despite WB really liking the show and wanting it to continue. And Gunn did kind of hint at him wanting the show to end before Superman Legacy. He said the show might continue for another season last year when asked about it. Why would he say that if he didn't want the show to be completed by the time the movie releases?

Because WB and James Gunn have no power over this show. The Lois getting cancer proved that. They literally destroyed the entire point of Superman and his powers. He literally could vaporize her cancer with his heat vision. Completely destroying it. It would take milliseconds. He could pull it out of her body by phasing his hand in and removing it. Yes Superman can Eobard Thawne someone. "Forgive me but to my point of view you have been dead for centuries." He could give her his powers temporarily. Etc. He could storm Heaven and punch God in the face to fix her. I'm just saying. God would let him too because why not let your replacement punch you in the face? Lol.

WTF WB? Superman & Lois is one of the best modern Superman live action takes in years it deserved at least one more Season. WB for years when to came to the DC Comics brand never wanted a Superman , Batman , Wonder Woman project animated or tv on at the same time as the movies. History repeating itself yet again. Hopefully this gets fixed with The DCU.

I knew they canceled the show because of the movie. Superman Legacy and Superman and lois are completely different stories. We won't see Superman son's on the movie for crying out loud. And the next Superman movie after Superman Legacy will probably take 3 or 4 years to see the new one in theaters. By then Superman and lois would have had 8 or 9 seasons. It would give them the chance to wrap up the series for a proper ending but it looks like we are not going to get that.

Most likely this is both a WBD company wide decision along with Zaslav mostlikely. WB in general seems to always be on the fence of having multiple universes going on at once, which is why we are having A SECOND ADAPTATION OF CRISIS OF INFINITE EARTH'S but on the animation universes side of things. Marvel and Disney for years have allowed multiple universes in animation to go on at once but for some strange reason, WB NO MATTER WHO IS IN CHARGE cant handle multiple universes go on at once, especially odd to consider WE JUST HAD A DC MOVIE TO FEATURE MULTIPLE VERSIONS OF THE SAME CHARACTER AT ONCE ON THE BIG SCREEN!

Are you really surprised about the show being cancelled?. I mean DC did the same thing with Stargirl which was an amazing show. That series could've most definitely been part of the new DC universe. I am bummed about that show being cancelled it ended with Jay Garrick preparing heroes or metas for something big I know it was in the Arrowverse crossover comic but still bad form that Stargirl was cancelled Anyways Superman and Lois will be missed

To be fair, zaslav did mention awhile ago that he would want for the brand to focus on not having 3 or four versions of the same character running around. I’m gonna guess that this is them trying to control that if they can. Although, they mentioned this was ending a while ago.

@@michaelkaggwa4915 in a perfect world that would be neat but, actors get canceled or they quit or even in the worse case scenario they die. Redundancy is safest idea for the studios. Multiple actors playing the same character gives the audience the most stories in the least amount of time. But, I’ll ask did u watch the flash or blue beetle movies? One failing to use the full potential of the multiverse trope the other compressing or even ignoring canon. James Gunn is introducing untested “wild storm” characters. In the past he may have been successful with introducing the guardians of the galaxy rooster but, those characters have appeared in other media prior to the film. One could hope 4 the new Superman movie to make bank but, I don’t believe in JG.

The reason movies aren't making money in many cases is: - Bloated Budgets - Bad Scripts - Most people can't afford to go out to the movies anymore on a regular basis. It has nothing to do with having a TV version and a movie version. That makes no sense. Stop acting like we're so dumb that we can't focus on more then one thing at a time.

This is better this way. Unless you establish a proper multiverse or a proper foundation you water down the characters when you have multiple iterations. Another thing is that shows not being able to use certain characters. There needs to be a limit on shows and movies connectivity and also having multiple versions.

This entire situation sucks because I loved this show and it drives me crazy that this show was dead because of Warner bros bullshit agenda of not having two Superman’s make no sense whatsoever, which personally for me really sucks even more because what the hell why can't this show superman and lois be around to go 5 seasons and superman legacy can come out at the same time and have superman go forward. Like its not that hard its easy but nope those assholes say we can't do that because they believe they can't have two supermen which i say bullshit because you can have two supermen at the same time though and nobody would get confused at least in my opinion.

Not going to lie I'm abit confused as to why this is such an issue. I enjoy Superman & Lois but it's already been stated how theyve had to cut half the main cast to limited roles for Season 4 due to budget cuts. Im not really sure how this show continues into Season 5... Also whilst the story was good pretty much all CW shows fell off after season 4 due to poor writing so Id hate to see this do the same. End the show on a high rather than drag it out.

James Gunn is an existential threat to DC and I wouldn't put it past him approaching the actors in Superman and Lois and threatening them that if they don't leave the show he would ruin their careers forever. James Gunn and the Schwartz character are both nuts and Warner Bros. is even more crazier than ever for listening to these people. Because here's a question that everyone should be asking. Why did James Gonell leave marvel? According to James Gunn he was doing really well with Marvel and he left a high-paying job to go work at DC?!? It doesn't make sense and I'm willing to bet Marvel was ready to fire James Gunn because of his past constantly following him.

In this case, we know it's James Gunn that's directly or indirectly forcing the TV series to fold. Otherwise, why not greenlight and shoot a season-5 and then air the season after the movie's run is done????

I actually like Superman and Lois and seen every episode without missing one and was looking forward to more seasons but sadly it does happen sadly, all shows must end but they get rid of the good ones and keep shows like Simpsons for over 30 years which is past old as hell and should be cancelled. They want to blame Warner when the fact is they didn't have the money to produce a season worth of episodes of this show. Look at how the quality of Supergirl went down after it came from CBS. Look at the evolution of his costume. It went from movie quality to a padded muscle suit with a airbrushed symbol. Also, the storylines were getting weak and uninteresting.

Why is this surprising to anybody? Anyone who did not expect this to happen the moment that James Gunn wanted to cut Henry Cavill and have the entire dceu to himself and redo it all to himself has neither followed James Gunn's career nor followed anything that's been happening regarding characters either. I mean you saw what happened to marvel and guardians of the Galaxy 3 when they cut James Gunn out for that one year because of a tweet he put out almost 20 f****** years ago, but that just showed the kind of control he had over those characters. I'm just wishing Superman and Lois a decent 4th season to end on, I'm grateful for what I got to see and what a lead actor and probably my favourite tv superman where tom welling my og guy from smallville, since Supergirl, Tyler has held his own and delivered well, in terms of cancellation, it will be WB, they own the character they agree the license, the end decision and control of the character ultimately lies with WB.

Plus, it's smart marketing as you don't want the average movie goer to be confused. What's the point of Gunn's Elseworlds under which The Batman falls if Superman and Lois could not fall under i as well? The answer is that Gunn is blowing smoke when he touts WB Elseworlds. Gunn claimed recently he is in total control of DC Studios and that WBD can't override him. Maybe he'll address this on Threads? Or not as it will be hard for him to wiggle out of this. Smallville was allowed to continue despite Superman Returns coming out. SR bombed and Smallville ran for four more years. There are doubts about Superman Legacy. It has been getting negative buzz and Gunn/Zaslav may fear SL would look not so epic if S&L was still going and turning in a season like season 3. Remember, the rumored plot for SL sounds like it's more for a streaming film than a theatre film. The Batman 2 is being slow walked. Why? Gunn wants it to be part of his DCU but Reeves refuses to fold his Batman into Gunn's universe. I doubt Gunn cancels The Batman - he can't afford to before SL comes out as he will turn another fanbase against him and perhaps turn Superman Legacy into a referendum on Gunn - the last thing that WBD needs.
