The space marines are augmented in their teens with 19 extra organs and they become 7-8 feet tall and super humanly fast and strong. Their guns are called bolters and they basically shoot mini rockets that’s why it’s so explosive. There’s too much to explain in one comment but now you know about the main characters in this video
The Astartes are literally walking tanks weighing up to 1 ton when armored… or more in some cases. Most regular humans will never see an Astartes their entire life. If they happen to show up where you live you might as well kiss your butt goodbye because something really bad is about to go down and you’re collateral.

Enjoyed your reaction sir! Funny you should mention the movie Event Horizon, very few people recognize the similarities! That movie was originally written to be about this universe and they could not agree on the contract terms to use all of the 'proper names'... so the movie got made just without being attached to the Warhammer universe. The place they were transpirted to is know as 'The Warp', And you are absolutely right that it is like this universe's version of Hell!
star wars is like fantasy/scify for kids. warhammer is fantasy/scify for adults. the power of friendship does nothing in the world of 40k. there are no heros, only people who commit atrocity in the name of the imperium, sometimes against a greater evil, but not always.

When they were sucked into the orb they were brought into the Warp, the Warp is a Hellish dimension that is home to Warp entities, demons and the Chaos gods. Its basically hell not the planet with giant skeleton statues at the end. Space, time and laws of physics don't apply there, the Warp is the realm souls and is connected to almost every living person in real space all your emotions are connected there too both positive and negative that's how people can be easily corrupted by Warp demons and get possessed.

Watched quiet a few reaction videos regarding Astartes and you are one of the very few that caught many of the minute details from the size of Astartes to communication of the two objects and the role of the psycher. It took me a while to understand what's going on. Also, I learned from this video about the connection with Event Horizon which I was blissfully unaware growing up in the 90s. The first reactor I’ve EVER seen who actually noticed how small the normal humans are compared to the Astartes. Thank you! It’s been driving me crazy that I’d never heard it commented on before.
Basically the giant golden-like dude is an entity that was supposed to be a shell or an avatar for that being in the ball. As warp entities cannot stay long or just appear in real world without some tricky fuckery, they posess people or other races and build up cults, start rebellions and shit. It's very likely that these BALLS were found by humans on some planet and slowly corrupted people. Also you were confused when this warp entity that sucked astartes inside the ball just blew up and screamed in pain. It was that guy who was corrupted and then gunned down. His body was possessed, but "soul" was left in another dimension. Somehow it found an entity and attacked it. You can see his black smoky aura when he enters warp and same aura attacking the creature.

FYI - you are right they had a point defense in Robotech, which was the American name. But here is the thing - that was a cut-up of 3 different anime series called Macross. If you have not seen them before man are you in for a treat. Oh and safe to assume you also watched Star Blazers and would agree it had the best theme song of all time.
