A few years ago when I was really broke I borrowed the Mad Men CDs at the library and fell in love with Jon Hamm. Marc, I think what you have for Jon is man love. And, hey, Marc, your pod cast fans--including me--love you, too.
Well, it was nice spending Christmas listening to & watching Marc all day. This is the closest I've come to having a Christmas ham this year. It was great. Ho ho ho.
9/2023.........Yeah,..Jon Hamm,...I like the guy, good actor. I saw the movie "Freaks" in 1970 when I was in high school and again in college,...mid 1970s,.......the perfect movie to see stoned on weed. Then in 1977 I went to a small town county fair in Ohio,.....where they had a real Freak Show, my first time witnessing that, and it was REAL. The whole affair depressed me,....made me question the choices people make or the dire situations that force people to find employment showing off their deformities,....though my friends said, Don't be depressed these weirdos enjoy the "Circus Life",...."they found their friends and their people",....they are probably not depressed but extremely pleased their deformity landed them in "show business". There was the tiniest woman,....not so much of a deformity,....I'm a short dude, and my own sister wasn't much taller than that very tiny woman. The Alligator man,......I kept thinking he just needed to be seen by a professional dermatologist,....maybe some salve, or skin grafts would fix him right up. The Ape Woman,...needed hormone treatments and she could work at K-Mart. The Lobster boy and his dad,....plastic surgery would improve their claw-like hands. "The human worm",....an armless, legless a human tragedy caused by a birth defect when his mom was exposed to the chemical poison, "Thalidomide". Then by a real fluke I met a Thalidomide dude, a guy who was my exact age, who attended my college, and was extremely deformed. He earned his degree as did I, at the same time, (1976) and ended up living less than a block from me, a few years later. I would see him at the video rental store, and we talked about movies. He was barely 3 foot tall, he had a normal head, but was missing his fore arms, and 90% of his legs, but had feet that stuck out, at the bottom and he waddled when he walked. Every day I was worried he'd get run over as he was no taller than 3 feet. He was on his own with no aids, or helpers. (What the fuck was I complaining about,...ever?!) I was short, but normal, basically though only being 5 foot-six inches tall,........made the women I wanted to date,....think I was cute,....and not "dating material". Too short to attract the taller women. I found a short woman, eventually and we've been a couple for nearly 40 years.
Hah! Hamm listened to the Poeler interview and makes Marc eat it! You the man Hamm! Maron is constantly trying to find a position to look down his nose at his guests. You really can't do that with someone like Hamm dude. Paid his dues, awesome looking...what angle you gonna get on that shit? Way smarter than you too. This was perfect.
