I wish to see you as president of Nigeria, to deliver us from this demonic government we do have now and then. Congratulations ma'am. God bless you unconditionally 🙏.
Mama ! you need to come back home Run for the president of Nigeria Stop wasting your time at there we need you back home.. Thank you for always make me a proud Nigeria.. God-bless you and all the best
I used to try to talk in same accent in the country where I live but I've long stopped bcos of Mama NOI. I even discovered that once u can speak fluently, the white folks can actually understand
I respect Dr. Ngozi so much from a Jamaican-Canada woman. I am in awe at how she respectfully responded to two very condescending questions. What do you mean she has no trade experience? What do you mean why is it so difficult to get African nominees? There were three nominees mentioned from the very beginning and she was leading the World Bank among other things. Those comments were to undermine her experience, skills, and education.
She is supernaturally talented, well experienced and immensely capable. It's not only about her educational qualifications. Meanwhile, let's hope she isn't sidelined most especially by our AU head who would always prefer the French colonies in power not to talk of the west who always wanna be in power regardless of their qualifications. If we had to do this by votes, I vote madam Okonjo-Iweala for the post.
After the interview, with Madam Ngozi rap sheet in mind, its clear to all and sundry that she dnt need the WTO service but the WTO badly need her service at this crucial covid juncture.
She nailed the last question. You can't devoid trade from development economics. You can only be a trade expert through the study of developmental economics. In fact, there is no better field of study in becoming a trade expert than to be a development economist. Therefore, she is more than qualified for the job and let the critics hold their peace.
@@okezieokezie6677 there is a Nigeria, which world are you living in, so as you say there is no more a Nigeria and I am assuming that you are a Nigerian, what do you call the place where you live?
@@charlesacha7783 NOIweala is operating at a level where the dull minds of the semi illerate political class in Nigeria cannot comprehend. Like many professional Nigerians working in the diaspora, those poor minded politicans will find her too much of a threat to cope with it because vast majority of them cannot understand that in the West integrity and accountability in office is everything.
Please don't include Oby Ezekwesili. She screams integrity in the public but sneaks at night to 'beg money' from the so called corrupt persons. Source: Reno Omokri
Thank you bro why exactly did she do (because someone speak fluently does not make her qualified, this was the same woman involved in the $2.1 billion scandal in 2015)
@@tradingforaliving2982 you must be joking with this your assertion.... Was she ever quizzed ? Was she ever invited and why do you guys keep brandishing figures just because you have sense doesn't mean you can misuse it. She's still the best your country can ever produce so deal with that!
@@emmanuelchibuike3770 why use brandishing (mean you know she was involved in a scandal still) I don't really care we have have had nigerians in international position before and it has not benefitted us in anyway so it doesn't really matter. She also served as the minster of finance for two term and debt increase a lot.
It is just impossible not to love NOI. She is most qualified for this job and there is no doubt she will deliver at the WTO. I wish her all the best every-time.
Sanjay Keita see aboki you very stupid but your bokohari is President a failure, school dropout, a man with no school certificate... oloriburuku somebody
Ngozi meaning blessing has indeed been a blessing in every thing she do and all that she is called upon. Truly the whole world will exponentially prosper beyond expectations if she takes over.
The man is a rtd army general, the lady is an economist by training and career, most of the questions and the position she's contesting for are all related to her field. But feel free to wallow in your stupidity.
But the man in Aso rock u insult nominated and pushing for her to be DG WTO. He also nominated Adeshina for ADB in 2015 and lobbying the US for his renomination He also had Amina Mohammed as Deputy DG for United Nations Also he sent Professor Tijani Bande to UN General Assembly
@@umartayibu1585 because no fulani man or woman is qualified for this position due to the fact it's merit based not fulanization. If you disagree, show or name one fulani who can fill in this position.
This woman is the best. If not that our country is tribalism and political issues this woman is needed in our country. She's very sound and intellectual.
Mummy as we call her or aunty, she carries an aura that places her above all others, don't forget that the father is professor emeritus, and the mother a Proffesor, well read and sound intellectually, well done ma,Gama ni shu,(oba, Nigeria, Ubulu uku) Delta state
There is hope for Nigeria and a woman President for Nigeria in the person of Dr Ngozi may be the solution Nigeria needs for the 2023 election. I hope you run then Ma. May God be with you
@@jayochuko7672 I am not an african and if you are, it is people like you that is the problem in Africa. You are full of self-hate and you are always so negative about others, well if she is not good enough, why don't you do something to make a difference in your country.
Ngozi has the education, required local and global experiences, confidence and capacity to lead WTO. Whom the cap fits let her wear it. You're truly the most qualified candidate for the job.
I'm very happy to see you contesting this position. You have always been a source of pride to your country, women, and the world at large. very proud of you and fervently pray you to get this job to facilitate the enormous change we desperately need in these difficult days and years to come. success all the way.
A thoroughly bred woman! Proudly IGBO...mother- PROFESSOR, father--- Professor and Antie Ngoo--- PHD, A MOTHER, A WIFE AND A PROUD OF HER HUSBAND, VERY KIND, AND A GOOD LISTENER......NO ONE IS TOO SMALL TO HAVE HER EARS.......I LOVE HER....I SWEAR!!!!!!
I always love to listen to her. A woman of excess substance. Presidency will suit her but I fear for the high level of frustration corrupt senior citizens would want to use the ignorant crowd against her government.
Even the man seated next to her knows that she is the best candidate for the job.Flawless responses to all the questions asked.we in Nigeria give her full support.much love from Nigeria.
So awesome indeed. This woman is truly a gift to her country and a true to-type for such a global leadership. You can hear her being vast in giving answers to every journalists' questions without mixing words. I believe no one else could be better than her. Thanks.
She is an icon and she deserves the position of WTO, she has delivered her duties before in the World Bank so she is much qualified for this Job.. thanks
The question: Why is not possible to have one candidate from Africa, interested me a lot. Personally, I think it’s because of the presence of a Nigerian candidate. There’s this unspoken mixture of fear, dislike/hatred, angst etc, mostly undeserved, which informs a certain philosophy that translates into and propels all manner of negative conspiracy theories about Nigeria. It doesn’t help that Nigeria, willy-nilly, suffers bad press, some unfounded, routinely. Most ironic is, the countries largely wanting in this nefarious enterprise, especially in Africa, are those Nigeria have, would, and indeed, most probably, is currently helping officially. Whether in our brightest and darkest moments, Africa has remained the centrepiece of our foreign policy. Undoubtedly, this noble mission means and costs Nigeria a great deal. And far more than we do for ourselves back home, Nigerian government has never trifled with the interest of Africa. But anytime we indicate interest in any position, and momentarily suspend our regular support for a common, unified African candidate from another country, they all gang up against us. Otherwise, why should we be having three African candidates right now. Without meaning to be prejudiced, everybody knows Ngozi Okonjo Iwela is head and shoulders above and more qualified amongst the pack. Why shortchanged or sabotage her? Where’s the unity in Africa? The rest of the world is simply aghast. It’s most wicked and shameful!
Dr Ngozi Okonjo iweala is the most qualified candidate for this job. You really did justice to this interview. I have no doubt you will make a positive impact if chosen to lead WTO. A big congratulations in advance ma'am
It's undisputed that Ngozi Okonjo Iweala with her experience in major Financial Sectors especially at the World Bank, she deserve to steer the Directorship of the WTO, we the members of WTO need her services.
I agree! You are the most qualified. It is good that you gave a confident answer to the last question!!! I trust and hope that WTO member states will realize that you have the present, future and broader skills required to address the current and future needs of the WTO. WTO is in desperate need of reform.. it has so many conflicting members. So, right now, there is an urgency for a leader who is an outsider to reform the organization. It is not about suitability, because all the WTO candidates are qualified. But it is about appointing a DG with international wheeling and dealing abilities and strong political clout to reform the WTO and build trust/consensus amongst the conflicting WTO member nations. You are the right person for the job! I trust that WTO member nations will realize that obvious undisputed fact.
Upright and brilliant. She served under the Obasanjo administration and Jonathan I think. In both cases, she delivered. We need more of her type but unfortunately she's a world class player and she's back to where she belongs. She's not only a leader in her right, but a corporate entity. Unfortunately, many of these sort of brains don't get elected into position of power and the mess Nigeria is in reflects this. NOI is not only a woman, but a strong black woman, educated, intelligent and upright as such. We need people of her calibre to represent Nigeria / africa and change the narrative infesting the world stage.
I think she merits the position but more importantly I think an African merits/deserves the WTO DG position. As much as she is an enigma in international affairs & economics, the fact remains how much of what she do/did when she was in such high position or have certain privileges affects the bulk of the common people? Success or Merit is Not just pinning/flashing achievement medals but accomplishments which affects others positively. In a summit she said the common Nigerian is not interested in economics jargons or economic data but rather better standard of living like affordable transport, regular power supply Etc. How much of that was really achieved during her tenures? Maybe for some people but I didn't benefit or experience it.
She is a great woman irrespective of what happened while she was serving in nigeria. One has to be great with high IQ to aim for top positions in the world. We are cheering for you NOI
Yes! I recommend, trust, and see her as a good candidate for this post with no bias mind She'll do the job earnestly to her ability ,and will represent everyone We need honest, and trustworthy people in leadership that youths will emulate for the world to emulate to the glory of God A lot evil and wickedness are in the world of today I pray she's appointed for the job, also don't think we'll be disappointed
It's funny that EU forgot so fast about how they supported Nigerian over S Korean candidate for WTO secretary then ran so fast to S Korea over Ukraine issue. EU should asked Nigeria before asking help from S Korea. S Korea warned about close relationship between Nigeria and China which EU ignored. Washington made same mistake when S Korea warned about N Korea building nuclear weapons back in 80s but never listened and made problem bigger. US ignored warnings from S Korea that China will try to over take the US lead when their economy gets bigger but gave most favorable trading nation statues so they can build nuclear weapons aimed at the US.
Fantastic...ignore your competition and don't reference who they are in discussion, focus on the price, capitalize on your strength and experience, let the spot light be on you. She deserves the position. Simply amazing
They attempted to shut you down and that was at the microphone. Yes, yes, yes she is perfectly right. Choice was on merit. She has the qualifications, and the support. Realistically, if there were a White Person siting in that chair, I am 100% sure such questions would never have been raised. We need parity, it shall be seen whether she follows through on her talk. The west has taken so much and should benefit from investments yet, without attachment of crippling instruments that send Africa in a downward spiral of poverty and unsustainably
I have a dream that one day, the presidency of Nigeria will not be selected by your religion or your tribe but by the size of your brain. That day, we could see a choice between Adesina and Okonjo Iweala or between Peter Obi and Amina J. Mohammed.
Dr N'Gozi proud to be African woman like you. Brilliant the way you are talking about trade is so amazing its like you re playing. Trade seems so easy with you. Thanks a lot and congrats once again.
She is a rare gem, very fluent, well qualified, has the capacity to handle and solve problems. She is intellectually fit and has every capacity to be the DG of WTO. Congratulations! see you there.
Chris Oghenetega Maloney not really sure what you mean or why you even said I should. Why don’t you try and formulate your comment in such a way that it is polite and that is has an actual message in it instead of mouthing cheap insulting meaningless things
