Here is a set of local commercials broadcast on WTOG 44 from 1986. These were aired during a broadcast of the film "Gorilla At Large." The special logo which is occasionally shown (which says 44 Goes Ape) was a reference to the movie.
I grew up in Wauchula, FL about 1.5 hours southeast of Tampa and was 10 years old in '86. I recall 75% of these commercials. My grandpa was a Captain for Delta and I would often go with him to work in Tampa and fly with him in the cockpit for the day. Can u imagine that with how strict the airlines are today?!? There were still ash trays in the armrest...lol. Nostalgia Overload...lol!
Channel 44 was to go to station back in the day when I was a kid always showed everything I wanted to watch when it came to reruns and the 44 kids club.
Hey! That's me! It's fun to hear some of the Channel 44 station promos I voiced back then. In those days before computer servers that stored everything, I'd go in every day and record dozens of scripts like these and liners that ran over show credits that were used all day long..
I've been referencing the "Much much much much better" from that Old Style commercial for better than half my life. I knew it was from a commercial from my childhood, but never knew which commercial until now. Thank you.
@@whysosyria1 I'll just be safe and say this postmodern world has gotten so uptight that the government's decided to police every single person to a courtroom if they make the smallest of mistages. Things like ash trays in armrests nowadays would be a massive frown, not to mention a fire hazard, to say the least..
