it's funny how ma long was one of the first players who was called "like a machine" ..compared to nowerdays he is an artist with so much variation and others are much more "machine" :D

The umpire made both players in rage.

Calling Maze's serve illegal (said he hid the ball - looked clear to me.) 2. Calling Ma Long's serve illegal (said he didn't toss the ball enough high - looked like a good 12 inches of height from the video...and it was during a very crucial point) 3. Calling Maze's pre-serve time too long and gave him a yellow card even though Ma Long had not yet arrived to the table. 4. Not even knowing whether or not a serve was let until both players confirmed that it was a let. 5. Screaming out every point and trying to control the game at her own pace. 6. Right in between every game, she would just throw the ball at the table away from the players and force them to go pick it up.

This referee must be fired..shame on the organizers to bring non-professional referees

Most TT-referees are a bit to weak on serve calls. The 12" rule came in the 80ties, as some servers got too much advantage by striking the ball right out of the hand. But there's very clearly nothing wrong with Ma Longs serve in 1m13s. An incredible call.

Maze does throw the ball half a table towards him, which is more than 15 degrees deviation fromvertical, thus an illegal serve, but if ma long is not bothered,the umpire should let it go. Many top players have illagel serves.

That lady umpire was so bad, literally doesn’t know the rules to table tennis. Clearly doesn’t know how to umpire. Literally calling the yellow card on maze was uncalled for since ma long wasn’t ready.

Actually the referee is very good and observant. You simply cannot judge someone just after watching a short recap of a match. Even the foul she called on Ma Long was right. If you watch 01:07, you'll notice that Ma Long's service toss is very low but she excuses him. However, he gets called on his second serve. Table tennis is a game where a good player with good service can have a tremendous advantage in the game. Therefore, the proper rules must be observed properly while playing on competitive field, especially at the international level. Also, I am a great fan of Ma Long myself, and I can say that he's one of the greatest players of all times. However, being a great player doesn't mean that you're not human. And well, "To err is human!"

Michael Maze has no good spirit .

The fact that some referees selectively enforce the rules does not mean that this referee was not correct in making those calls. She went strictly by book, no bad calls there. Yes it was annoying as hell but the correct calls were made nonetheless. Lay the blame on the conservative old men who wrote the rule book for this sport.
