The most impressive part is not the jump, but the landing. Landing without a safety role from that height that too multiple times, with that calm look, man he must have legs of steel or body as lite as feather!👏🏻👏🏻
@@donaldmahaya2689 Nah. Raymond Belle could take a 30ft drop as easily as a drop from a chair in his 60s! He's the father of the founder of Parkour David Belle.
Parkour learned from Kongfu movies of Jackie Chan...Jackie Chan learned his Kongfu as a student of Beijing Opera...the Kongfu of Beijing Opera came from Hubei Han Opera. Han Opera learned Kongfu from Wudang Kongfu. all Kongfu originated from Wudang and Shaolin.
Wasn’t this filmed in 2009? That was not 20 years ago. The Office had an episode in 2009 where they did “hardcore parkour”. Also I remember a famous parkour (Parkourist? Parkourer?) being included in the film Casino Royale way back ‘06. So yes, parkour was definitely in the public consciousness.
4 point or "cat drop"? Easy, but like dude said I'd rather breakfall, keeps momentum and throws off the kinetic energy absorption that homeboy in the vid is surely feeling with those flat ass soles.
Read where in this art "Qing Gong" they like to train a person when very young because having possessed more flexibility. One of the training methods were to run up a plank against a wall around 10 feet high then you would make the plank angle steeper and steeper until straight no longer needing the plank then just run straight up a 10 foot wall naturally as your Achilles tendon would be so flexible developing to where your toes could touch your shin. Another training exercise was putting like round or flat rocks about the size of your palm in a large round deep pot like for plants and walk around its rim and slowly removing one rock at a time as you get more and more use to getting better balance until there is no ricks in the pot
I used to jump off house's and keep running , run up trees and jumped off landing quietly now I wouldn't even dare jumping off a 3ft counter all the shock absorbers are worn out , but I can tell when the weather will change now 😃
Use the old Chinese call that parkour thief name "flying thief" king will find some parkour policeman too catch them & some kung fu people Parlour call "watet walker" Old japan call Nanja" that is a old technical of Asian. Parkour not from china but it is same idea .some western said idea come from jacky chan film.
Very inspiring to see these results from training and skill from experience. Not only the body, but the mind needs its exercise and conditioning. Amazing to see, thank you for sharing this
sifu chen xixing ....glad to see him again after 13 years....i spent a month at his school.... not all fancy stuff...this guy can puunch through 2 bricks...
same here buddy, I spent a month studying with him 11 years ago. He did the kickboxing so he's not the type of kungfu guy you wanna mess with XD Cheers from the US!
@@EnesLOTRChina would work better for AC because it has way denser cities and much more rich history. However Japan would work better for the new “AC” games that are big open world rpgs.
You should check out some 70s and 80s kung fu movies. Same as what this guy is doing, but they have to use ropes and nets and stunt takes to make it look bigger.
@@elieteoliveira-janus2416 Definitely not downplaying this guy. On a human level, thats pretty impressive. I'm not sure, but some freerunners may be doing that too.
@@MCSPARTAN501 The reason without a roll is because according to Chen Shixing himself, back in days this was not called light body skill or sth, this is called runaway body skill. It was used mostly when you are facing multiple enemies at the same time and cannot win easily, so yes, to escape. Thus, you cannot roll when you jump across a high wall or something very high because due to the nature of combat, you will never know what will hit you when you are rolling and getting up, which will expose your full body to your potential ambush. Thus, Kungfu masters found ways to lose the incredible force of dropping with a simple squat.
they say it looklike parkour, yet this old dude, doesnt even roll to absorb the impact, his body really light, i never seen a parkour where a guy run by stepping his friend bodies, and fast too
Not a parkour type but light body skills.it's much harder not because it's better but bcoz of the techniques and different usage. If u use force on running over the others shoulders, you will fall or hurt their shoulders
it's magnificent to see his skill. I hope with all that jumping he will not damage his knees, unless they have a technique to prevent it. the singer Prince used to jump so much in his performances, over the years, he was suffering from terrible pain. we can't compare the height of the master of kung Fu, with the one Prince used to jump
not just our knee and ankle, it will shock all our own at our body, not to mention our internal organ to absorb the impact. So he must be very light too. If he depend only to his strong leg, his foot will get into the soil.
Wall running climb has been around for a long time. I did the equivalent distance as a child in 3rd grade (meaning that my height vs the wall's height was approximately the same as the first one he did) because our ball had gotten stuck on top. It never occurred to me to keep doing it, so I never did succeed again. It's pretty cool but requires attention to physics as well as strength and dexterity. If you accelerate too slowly, you won't have enough momentum to keep your forward momentum pushing your mass against the wall until you reach the top. The forward momentum is the key to using your mass to allow you to run up like that., but slow legs and/or weak legs will also defeat you. As mentioned by others (some of whom mistakenly call it parkour instead of a skill used in parkour), this is used in parkour.
I love those places, away from the civilization, if I have the chance to know China I wanna visit those temples, so many knowledge and ancient culture, China is the future.
@@promaxiphone1349 im ok with that, because means the government is allowing to get incomes .to maintain they infrastructure and the master.can have students to teach, then people like us who lives abroad actually can appreciate this art even if we cant visit it ever.
well guess he can run away so fast with his qing gong that xu xiaodong cannot catch him! plus what if he is allowed to go to the show with his sword or knife vs xu’s bare fist???
I don't know that wall was a bit higher than I've seen parkour guys go up in the videos, unless they are using another wall to push off of. Also he lands the jumps without rolling. It's a bit different. No disrespect to the fantastic skills of parkour practitioners BTW
His hat deserves fuller respect for choosing not to be compromised, enduring training session after session up until this point.. separate training haaad to have been given for his hat behaviour alone.. he's just using his hat's talent to highlight, showcase then market his own agenda.. very, very selfish. Hm, shaolin..
For untrained eyes :) his movements are just like normal parkour. However, if you observe carefully, e.g. the wall climbing you can see some differences. BTW the video is about qigong and not about parkour.
It cause these guy practice the horse stance (squat position) standing in the stance half a day. They already hurt enough that they dont hurt no more I can only do it for 20 secs lmao
@@will-qu5en healthy like when Bruce Wayne goes to the doctor and the doc says that he doesn't see any damage... When Bruce says "it's a good thing then"... The doc says something like "because there isn't any cartilage to have damage on"?
I've watched many non-practitioners do these same kinds of feats...but want to see one of these guys fly through the air like in the kung fu movies!...LOL or run/skip on water!

HK cinema fans will recognize the theme song to Tai Chi Master starring Alex Man Chi Leung. :) Now if Parkour people start to combine their skills with Kung Fu, they can rule the world!
