Wurkkos TS23 Transcript:
General thoughts after a week of usage/size comparison/practicality/interesting things:
• The Wurkkos TS23 is what I'd call a medium-sized light, it's around the same size as the Convoy M21B except with a larger head. I'd categorize this one as a tactical-style light due to the tailswitch and shortcut to turbo. Wurkkos rate this one at 5000 lumens and it definitely packs a punch - out of all the larger LEDs out there, the XHP70.3 HI that's included in the TS23 is my favorite. It hits all three checkpoints in terms of high output, a throwy beam + tons of flood. At the lower modes, it's incredibly efficient. After using this light for a week, I've been quite pleased with it's performance but there are a few considerations I want to go through later.
• What's included: you get a double-sided clip, 21700 battery, lanyard, spare o-rings, and USB-C charging cable.
• Comparison with M21B, C8+, L21B, Nextorch TA30C Max, P84.
Overall Construction, LED, lens, bezel and reflector
• Solid construction and machining is high quality, especially at this price point. Deep knurling and thermal cutouts on the head. Anodizing is somewhere between shiny and matt black. It feels a bit slippery, but the knurling helps. Single metal e-switch on the tail. The battery indicator is on the side of the light. Wurkkos has also shifted the charging port there too. The rubber seal feels sturdy and doesn't get in the way of the operation of the light.
• Stainless steel bezel with 3x ceramic glass breaking beads. This is a big upgrade for Wurkkos - I haven't seen any other Wurkkos lights with these two features. XHP70.3HI paired with OP reflector + glass lens. Wurkkos uses a regulated boost driver with the TS23 to power the 6V LED.
UI - modes
• Two groups (outdoor mode and tactical). To switch between them, you turn the light on and press four times. Four clicks from off locks/unlock the light.
• Outdoors mode:
○ Press once to turn on (mode memory). Press and hold to cycle Eco/LMH. Double-click for turbo. Repeat to go to moonlight. Triple click for strobe, SOS, and Beacon (triple click to cycle). Press and hold for ML.
• Tactical mode:
○ One click for turbo/off. From on, press and hold to cycle Med/Turbo. Double click for strobe, SOS, and beacon (double click to cycle). Press and hold off for ML.
Performance - total output, beam profile, longevity, practicality
• Ceiling bounce test, CRI, CCT
• Impressive throw + flood combo. I like the large, diffused hotspot you get. It's nicely focused too.
Considerations
• Larger head, this is not an EDC light. It'd fit comfortably in track or cargo pants though. Or a jacket pocket.
• Steps down quickly - Wurkkos could have pushed this light further. The good news is that the heat is controlled well, and you can also reactivate the turbo again if you need to.
• Slight delay in activation when pressing the tail switch. Not too noticeable but something that's common in some of these e-switch tail switches.
The tint is on the cool end.

Crikey mate, it's about time the Wurkkos TS23 got reviewed here! 🔦☺ I received mine last month and found that the reflector head is too large for my general purpose Wurkkos small sized holster that I had to buy the medium sized one. For added punch, I swapped out the supplied Wurkkos 5000 mAH, 21700 cell for the Molicel P42 which I had ordered separately. This thing is bigger and brighter than my Sofirn SC33! 🔆🔆🔆 Fun fact: This used to be the Aplos T03 flashlight before Wurrkos rebranded it as the TS23. Aplos has since dropped the T03 from their online catalogue, probably as part of their product line restructuring. I have yet to see a 1:1 comparison between the Aplos T03 and the Wurkkos TS23 to see if their operational modes and beam patterns are as identical as their external appearances. 😀

I hear that Aplos, Sofirn and Wurkkos are all made in the same factory 😉 yes, it's a bit too much to carry around in my pocket but a great medium sized light to put in your bag..

@@DarrenYeoYT Agree with you 100%! When I visually compare Wurkkos, Sofirn and to a lesser extent Aplos, it seems like the Jinba Technology Co of Shenzhen crafted all of the body parts and let those three brands mix and match the components of their choice. For instance, Wurkkos came up with the TS11 Mini while Sofirn has something very similar in the form of the IF19. Both models offer the optional 18650 tube although the IF19 doesn't have Anduril. Wurkkos' TD series flashlights also resemble certain Sofirn and Aplos models. Interestingly, Aplos give out modest lumen and distance claims for their products while Sofirn and Wurkkos tend to slightly exaggerate their flashlights' maximum output and beam distance. Still, they're not as bad as those el cheapo torches on Amazon and Aliexpress with ridiculous claims of 100,000 lumens, lol.. 🤣

Nice! Haven't watched yet. Got the L21B yesterday and got to try it out, with the Sft40, theres a slilght offish tint to the center of the beam and maybe the Corona but its not really as blue and cool as i was scared of, the 6500k i imagine it is and not the 5,000 like i was hoping for but i love it! Its Badass , i kind of wish it had momentary on because it would be such a wicked light to keep by the front door of your home, i never monkeyed with the groupsets yet, now i have to order a second light. My plan is to start getting up early to use flashlights eventually lol in the bush. Wonder how this stacks up against the L21B

L21B would smoke this light distance wise. I have two (one with Xhp70.3 Hi and another with the CSLPM1.F1

I think this is decent enough for those who just needs a flashlight. But I believe for an enthusiast, that runtime on turbo needs a little bit more tweaking. I have an Acebeam P17 which head is smaller compare to TS23 but it holds that turbo for about a minute. Also sustains a higher "high" mode. Overall I like this light, this is a good alternative for P17. Awesome review man! More power 🎉

@DarrenYeoYT 21 день назад
Hi Louis, yes I was a little disappointed turbo stepped down so quickly. At least you can reactivate but still. Sustained output on lower modes is good news though. I use most of my lights on those modes. But good to have access to turbo where needed.
@louisarturo5625
@louisarturo5625 21 день назад
@@DarrenYeoYT yeah, good thing that the "high mode" is sustained enough for most tasks. Still a good light IMO

Another Great Light From Wurkkos. But I wish it had a Buck Driver... The tailcap is glued but does unscrew with a bit of force

@@Next96300 I have the Sofirn SP33S XHP70.2, 5000 Lumens, the specs doesn't say what Driver it has but I'm pretty sure that is better performance on turbo 🤷🤷

@@Next96300 Thanks for the comment. I learned something new about buck drivers and the LEDs that they can't use. 🔦👍 Are you certain that the T03's button operations differ that from the TS23? If that's the case then Wurkkos had tweaked the TS23's user interface and the TS23 isn't a quick copy & paste job. 🙂

I'm still looking for my first 21700 batt torch and this one the head is too big for my liking. What do you think about Sofirn SC 33 or do you have smthng better to consider buying? Smaller is better for me! Cheers! Thanks. Bye! 😎

Have you considered any Convoy lights? They have a bunch of 21700 lights at pretty affordable prices. And better than most budget lights out there IMO. Maybe check out the M21B. Head is smaller than this.

I think so, the stepdown pattern I saw was the same as Joseph's. But I'd need to retest in different scenarios to verify.
