Yes, the exact same as spoken in the book. I love those Bronte siblings so much. The writing is superb, magic and touches the soul of a reader. Not to mention Ralph Fiennes did an excellent job in his portrayal of Heathcliff. He is my favourite amongst all else that acted this part!
@@goddoga5592 Cathy says that “you’ve killed me” earlier in the conversation. And then Heathcliff says I forgive you. I love my murderer. But yours how can I? meaning that as she claims he has killed her so how can he forgive himself?
Cathy will not admit the truth that she broke her own heart and in doing so broke Heathcliff's. She is condemning Heathcliff for leaving when she drove him to leave in the first place. Stupid, selfish cruel woman who drove Heathcliff on the path of destruction! I hope that you are satisfied Cathy for all the lives that you ruined and in doing so indirectly led Heathcliff to ruin lives as well!
@@andreavanhoof6047 She was completely taken in with the privilege and wealth of the Linton family; tragically she realised how superficial it was but by then it was too late.
Yes, I thought he should have been nominated for this...Heathcliff was a terrifying character but he also was the most sympathetic. He was created by years of abuse ....and when the love of his life traded him for an empty marriage based on wealth it destroyed him. Cathy was such a fool...her actions ruined everyone.
Ralph Fiennes have taken my breath away in this movie. I will not tire to watch it again and again. He deserves an Oscar. Such an immense love and heart that bind emotions.
Racism, child abuse, spousal abuse...Emily Bronte's book is astonishing in how it tackled these issues nearly two centuries ago. Truly ahead of its time.
@@tolowokere Yes. Heathcliff was repeatedly ridiculed because he was a Roma. It wasn't just because he was a 'foundling', in the book they called him all kind of insults because he was dark skinned.
@@janesgems7 I don't think so. His Gypsy heritage was brought up because it stood out, but the hatred he had to put up with was mostly due to Hindley's jealousy (and, in later life, because of Heathcliff's own cruelty to others). If anything, Heathcliff was constantly praised as handsome and very gentlemanly in his appearance when he returned to the Earnshaws and Lintons.
@@janesgems7он не был темнокожим, во времена Эмили Бронте «цыганами» называли многих бродяг, которые вообще никак не относились к данной этнической группе. Да и цыгане, по происхождению своему, больше относятся к Индии)
I've seen this actor play cold hearted roles and he was so believable.. To see him in this, all fiery passion - deep intense emotion whilst bleeding with abandonment wounds and heartbreak. 😍
"For thy request the eyes not lie and thus my heart died." Katherine died she let her love die... What an amazing scene the book is so much better (i cried for hours reading this in the book) it is put in such resonance in todays date.
Later on, his nephew did another character in harry potter as young Voldemort and did a movie called after, which the writer was in love and obsessed with wuthering heights...
WOW, that is an emotionally powerful scene between the two of them, and very sad too ! I REALLY love the music you used . Ralph Fienes is so good here. Great actor. I wish I could find this online.
I'm sure you'll love this version.Ralph Fiennes is excellent in the role of Heathcliff and the best of all the others i've seen so far in this part. The music i used is from the background theme from the russian tv series,"Poor Nastya",i've been telling you about.Glad you liked this video,i like that scene too both in the book and in the particular version!!!
I'm not crazy about Juliette Binoche as Cathy, but would watch it for the story & Fiennes anyway. I think that theme music is either the classical piece Adagio in G minor or from Scheherazade by Rimsky-Korsakov ?
megahappy2beme No the musical piece is just a little version of the title song of the series, nothing to do with adagio or Scheherazade. You can listen to the original song in my video "Bednaya Nastya cast and tribute".I think i had sent it for you to listen when i first made the particular video.
Yes you did send me that video on the that series (which looked good too) . I forgot that that was the same music, I guess I was too busy looking at the actors in it. : : )
People are saying Cathy is cruel. Yes, she does have a cruel streak for sure. She said and did some awful things. But please be aware that she had good reason to spurn him. Note his cruelty. He is cruel to the very core of his being. To those who have experience with sociopaths it’s as clear as day. He tried to guilt trip her, and she was having none of it. He is abusive and diabolical. And no, she did not drive him to do those mean things. He did evil of his own volition. She merely provided the excuse.
I totally agree. Remember the scene where he mentions the baby birds and the calendar where he kept a list of the days she spent with him and the Lintons to compare? Most people would say he became a villain but there were indications of his dark side from the beginning. If he truly loved her he would have made peace with her decision to marry Edgar because he would want her to be happy even if she loved another man.
@@lukasmiller486 , yes there were hints all through the book from the very beginning. The baby birds was particularly chilling. He also killed Ms. Linton's cat before he married her.
I think there was also the fact that he spent his early childhood without any loving parents until Mr Earnshaw found him and adopted him, and that must have impaired his development of compassion and ethics.
Por favor, você poderia postar este filme completo! Filme maravilhoso, desempenho fantástico de Ralph Fienes. "O morro dos ventos" com Ralph Fienes e Juliette Binoche é maravilhoso, apesar de ser uma história triste.
No offense to Juliette Binoche but Winona Ryder would have been an outstanding Cathy. She plays feisty and strong willed so well in Little Women and The Crucible and I think she would have been able to balance out Cathy’s ladylike exterior with her darker more neurotic side. Binoche is okay but you can tell in this scene, her tears are artificially produced while Ralph Fiennes is really on the verge of tears from his wide eyes, trembling lips and the way he carries himself overall. I would have cast Winona as the mother and let Juliette play the daughter and then the film would have been a lot better.
Huh, no offense but no. Juliette is fine on this role, not perfect because Cathy is by the way a very hard super complex and difficult character to play, but of all the “Cathys” I watched I thought Juliette’s version was a pleasant one to watch. Winona does not have that much range as an actress to play this character, she always seemed the same in every move I watched her, Little Women, Dracula, The Age of Innocence, good Lord, no!
Well, I get what you’re saying this is Juliet’s very first English-speaking role if I’m not mistaken. I feel like she’s an excellent actress, but I feel like there’s also a lot of emotion that got lost in translation. Also as we’ve seen, Winona Ryder is horrible at British accents lol. Love her as an actress though.
😔💔 P.M.S R.I.P
Right guess,it is Joaquin and Kate Winslet from the 2000 period film Quills.I consider this performance one of his greatest if not the greatest of his entire career.Have you seen it?
+Minatos check out my tribute video "Joaquin Phoenix in Quills", it's my tribute to his performance in this film.I am a huge fan of Joaquin's too and quills is responsible for my Joaquinmania!!!!!!
Everyone seems to like Ralph Fiennes, but I find him repulsive to watch. Something about his face, the way he holds his mouth, the way he speaks. He makes my skin crawl. I love Juliette Binoche as Cathy, but I wish someone else had been cast as Heathcliff.
