Thanks for the review. I currently own the WUUK and for me the item works well. I have it door mounted and I do have to say that the battery life is really decent. I haven't really checked out how long it lasts, but I can say that I never remember the last time I charged it when I do have to charge. The charging time isn't super long which allows me to do it after arriving home from work and putting it up well before I go to sleep. Not having had any of the other devices I have to say I may be prejudiced, but for me the price was much more in my budget for me to obtain in stead of the others on the market. The full length view of the person is also advantageous. Overall, your review was a good one, and I also am looking forward to the improvements that are coming and what other products this company may come out with.
Thanks, I'm glad you found the review helpful :) Yeah I fully charged my review unit whilst making the video and then left everything on the least energy-saving options and it still lasted just over a month before finally dying. I then fully charged it again but I've turned everything down and enabled power saving mode... it's on 90% as of today, I don't expect it to last 6 months but will see how long it does last. And yes, as you say charging doesn't take that long so it's not a huge issue - I'd still recommend anyone hardwire it if they can, though (see this video for details: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ORhUadv2H2Q.html)
Thanks for the review. Good stuff. I am trying to decide between the WUUK and the eufy Video Doorbell 1080p battery powered version. Very similar features and pricing.
Glad you found it useful! Let me know which you end up getting. Further to my comments in the video, I'm currently helping wuuk to Beta test the Google integration, and it's announcing doorbell presses on all my Google Home and Nest speakers in the house now. I don't know when it'll be publicly released but good to see it's in active development.
Very nice, informative video with A well organized and methodical review I have been having problems with my WUUK going off-line inexplicably I can reconnect it, but then that doesn’t last Based on this video, I am going to try moving the chime/receiver closer to my router, Although where it is now seems like it should be OK We will see Thanks again for this good video and I have subscribed
Can this doorbell also be used as a camera to view your neighborhood? And doesn't have sensitivity motion, detective on it. So when someone's walking by the camera will notify you.
Yes, all of the above :) It's worth pointing out that they've brought out newer, much better models since this video was made so check out their website for more info.
@Switched On Network So this Wuuk doorbell cam, does have the ability to record 24/7? Are there any options, like overwriting data after a certain amount of time etc? Thank you.
It doesn't have a 24/7 recording option, it only records video when it detects motion. You can choose the sensitivity of the motion detection on a scale from 1 to 6 and you can also chose Human Only, Smart Alert or All Motion as well as setting a recording clip duration of 10s, 15s or 20s. To give you an idea, I fully charged mine and put a 64GB card in on 11 June (the day I filmed the unboxing element of this video) and today (7 July) the battery's just dropped to 10% charge and I've got 1.8GB of 59.4GB left on the SD card before it starts automatically overwriting the oldest clips. This is without Power Saving Mode enabled (I'll be fully charging it and testing with that enabled once the final 10% has depleted), a Motion Detection Zone set up (to exclude my neighbour's driveway on the left, as you'll see in the video), Detection Sensitivity set to 4 and Detection Type set to Smart Alert with 20s video clips. By recording video whenever you detect motion, you get 99.9% of the benefit of 24/7 recording without actually needing to record 24/7, ie. you can set it to not miss anything. True 24/7 recording would just fill up your SD card unnecessarily with lots of "nothing-happening" clips. My other smart doorbell (a Nest Hello) has the option to record 24/7 (via paid Nest Aware) but I only pay for Event Recording - since there's almost always *something* happening in front my house (cars, people going past etc.) it's pretty much 24/7 anyway! :) I hope that's helpful!
Hey there. Any idea of why the camera works on the app, shows up on alexa but won't display live view on echo show?? The voice says it's not supported. Filmware updated and reboot. Still no luck
Don't know I'm afraid, sorry - your best bet would be to ask their support teams for help but if the voice says it's not supported then you're probably out of luck.
How can I check recordings from the beginning of the month today's 9/24 I wanna see recordings fron the 9/12 which I can't play the video and I don't have a sd card but I payed 199 for seven days but it doesn't go back to the 9/12 how can I review the recordings from there
