operation tannenberg isn’t a mappable thing so there was no reason to include it, spain joined the axis after the victory in egypt but even if they didn’t it wouldn’t make a difference in this scenario, reichskommisariat belgien was established with that northern part of france irl so its more accurate

This is the best axis victory timeline ive ever seen, the key point is of course the quick fall of china which realistically should be more gradual so the war would last for longer but the concept is completely on spot, could be of heavy inspiration for a future video, if you allow me (with credits of course)

@@Italian_Mapper If you read about the condition of the Chinese forces, they were in bad shape constantly. Even in 1944, when the Japanese Navy, Air Forces, and merchant fleet were at the bottom of the ocean, the Japanese army still carried out a devastating offensive in Southern China. The reason the Japanese were forced to halt their offensives in 1939 was the extended front and poor logistics, particularly in the region affected by the flooding. Knowing that they were now in a long war, the Japanese proceeded to disperse their forces even more by occupying Chinese ports, and later, European colonies, to deprive the Chinese of war materials. That’s why the Japanese couldn’t break the stalemate in China until 1944, when it was too late for Japan to win the war. If the flood never happened, the Japanese advance on Wuhan would have been earlier, with more troops coming from more directions. The Chinese defense would have failed sooner, allowing the Japanese to capitalize on momentum to capture Nanchang, Changde, and Changsha before 1939. Then, instead of wasting time and resources occupying the Chinese ports, Japan would swing north and occupy Xi’an before marching into Sichuan province. The fall of Chongqing might not completely end Chinese resistance, with the Communists continuing to resist in Ganzi, and the warlords continuing to resist in Yunnan, but there would be enough Japanese forces freed up for Japan to consider joining the Axis in late 1940 or early 1941. One thing I didn’t include in my scenario was Lend Lease. Without the Anglo-Soviet invasion of Iran (pointless without Allied control of Iraq, as Italy could simply reinforce Iran), the Lend Lease route there wouldn’t exist. The Vladivostok route would end in 1942 when Japan attacks the Soviets, and the Murmansk-Arkhangelsk route would have less traffic than in our timeline. Eventually, the loss of enough British merchant ships, any section of the major roads or railroads from those ports, or the ports themselves, would end Lend Lease. Both Turkey and Iran would likely attack the Soviets eventually, maybe even Afghanistan, but their contributions would be minimal, and probably the territories they gain minimal also. That said, people underestimate how close some battles can be. Even 10% more or fewer men on either side can make the difference between winning and losing a battle. And that applies to China too, which is also a reason why I think Japan could have been victorious in 1940 without the floods.

@@Italian_Mapper also, please go ahead and make a video. Right now, I myself am working on a mapping video for WWI, a video about how to make German direct territorial gains as big as possible. The idea is, Germany beats France in 3 months, but Russia wins Tannenberg and Przemysl quick and devastating, causing Romania to join Russia and capture Budapest while Germany is still reinforcing Danzig after losing Konigsberg. Italy also joins Russia and Gallipoli results in victory for Britain, causing quick Ottoman collapse and Greek entrance into the Entente. The devastation of Austria-Hungary makes it harder for Germany to beat Britain, Russia, Italy, Serbia, Romania, and Greece, but Germany does win in the end. Normally, you would expect some sort of disunification of Italy, like in Kaiserreich, but since I’m making maximum direct territorial gains for Germany, instead, I have to do something different. After the Russians are pushed back to Minsk, and Serbians pushed back from Belgrade, Italy loses the battle of Caporetto, and Bulgaria joins the Central Powers. When Italy successfully defends at the Piave, Germany offers peace to Italy by offering Savoy, Nice, and Corsica, while Germany keeps the border at the Piave (see? Maximum direct land for Germany against Italy puts the border at the Piave, I think). Eventually, Germany annexes Austria after Hungary leaves the empire, and Germany moves the eastern borders to something resembling TNO.
