million of million german army fought against russian, meanwhile a few thousand on western front, and when the allies lost a few little thousand men then they cried for it, what a shame
I like how guns and explosions are loud and sound realistic. Recent COD games have this “soft” sounds especially the explosions sounds like hitting a pillow.
This was my first COD game, and I was addicted to it like hell.... Old childhood days flashed back through my mind..... I even redownloaded it and am enjoying it once over again......
What was even worse was, Stalingrad first mission. The mission starts as you are on a boat to charge germans on the hill, stuka's bombing vessels left and right, you feel you are lucky to be reach shore and when you get out, stuka bombs the vessel you were in, and if it wasn't enough, you were given 5 bullets. AND YOU DO NOT HAVE A RIFLE.
@@carl-os4603 Although is is unhistorical, the scene you see yourself in was amazing at the time. (And still is). Its COD At its finest, my favorite cod games were some of the most Intense, Which are, to me of course: Cod(w/ United offensive.), World at war, cod 2, BO1, and Mw2 and 1. These are my personal favorites of the COD Series for how intense they are, and I can say while playing them "It may not be 100% Realistic, It does a good job of making me think it is realistic." Now, do I think other CODs are Bad? No. I'm just simply stating why COD dosent always need to be 100% realistic with they're work, and making It intense will do the job. (For me, atleast.)
@@carl-os4603 Now that I do agree with, I would like a realistic ww2 game, but for what the COD Games have done, to me, it's the closest thing to realism I have at the time, so they'll do for now.

@@jasonchia3959 Yeah, I get what you're saying. But my taste in terms of what is pleasing in the graphics department transformed. I'm not impressed by shadows or shiny reflectioo anymore. I am indeed impressed by the composition of the scenarios, the theme, mood and how immersed I can get, even with an old title like this.

I played this as a kid, like 10 years old. And I thought it was the coolest battle ever. I still think that the missions of this game are some of the best I have ever played
@@417Owsy I actually hate the Soviet Union and think it was, for the most part, a dark period in human history. What I do hate even more, however, is shallow historical revision and "le funny meme xdlol?" talking shit about the common soviet soldier.
And in original game, your first russian mission was to be the meat shield for a sniper during Stalingrad Battle. And you only given 5 bullets without rifle.
Only for Call of Duty Classic. None of the other CoDs (before CoD 4 Modern warfare) got any Story Expansions. Not that the newer CoDs ones got any either...
I love the cod ww2 campaign and zombies but this deserves a remaster. It so nostalgic, I played that game back in 2013. Hope they go back and remaster this master piece.

Someone should make a realistic war game in which you spend half the campaign digging trenches and the other half sitting inside them, exchanging fire all day.

I found only one thing really unforgiving in old COD games : soldier models look like dwarves especially while they are running. Its really funny and kills the realism. It's not because its an old game and if we see Medal of honor: Allied Assault then we can clearly see the difference. MoHAA clearly had better animations and models.
What I love about the older COD’s is that we got to see different battles rather than the same ones over and over again. If the devs ever go back to WW2 Eastern front again, I can guarantee we’d only get yet another depiction of Stalingrad.
The Wehrmacht was not evil, the SS were. Big difference between the two. However for the soviets it was the entire red army that committed crimes based on whatever they wanted to do, and the officers ignored or encouraged it. I am not saying the germans were good, in fact they committed some of the worse genocides in history. However they were soldiers following orders and many were conscripted and forced to fight, especially in the later years of the war and if they disobeyed or spared someones life they were often seen as enemies of the state and were beaten and stripped of rank, and some were even sent to concentration camps. The soviets raped, slaughtered and pillaged because they could, and they knew that there would be no punishment for doing so.
This practice was disgusting, however it was uncommon as it took time to create a fully functioning brothel used only by soldiers as the eastern front was always moving making much of what you say physically impossible as they were not as commonplace as you make out.This did happen on the eastern front but it did not happen on the Western front or it was extremely rare, as fighting the slavs was seen as a race war by the Nazis as unfortunately many soldiers (Mainly the SS) saw the eastern front as a race war and a mission to eradicate Bolshevism as expand the plan for lebensraum. I am not saying this justified the disgusting practice it however brothels were common place nearly everywhere in the world. Also did you know during after and during the war, rape in eastern Germany was so commonplace , women would try to find officers to rape them and take them as personal prisoners, to avoid gang rapes by soviet soldiers. Evidence suggests that around about 2 million German women and girls were raped by the red army. Makes you think how the Russians still deny it to this day. Also there are claims that the US army raped about 190 000 german women a well. So in therm of sexual atrocities, the Russians Americans were in a high position as well.
Shadow_wolf66 I do not deny these crimes commited by the red army but the argument that the germans were disciplined soldiers facing rapist undisciplined soviet pillagers is pure fantasy for me, soviet soldiers were to go through months of training with military discipline which did not prevent potential criminals from committing rapes or brutalization. The germans made their way across russia destroying, pillaging and burning down villages killing entire population in rural areas while raping women too and people use the argument «Russians destroyed eastern Europe» but do you realise that they were fighting a war for their own survival, Russia under the nazi regime means slavery for the slavs based on an ideology of racial domination. Yes the russian commited terrible war crimes but saying that the germans at least were disciplined and that the soviets were worst than nazis is a terrible vision of those terrible events.
The germans were more disciplined then the soviets, that is a fact. If you do not believe me just compare the soviet casualties vs the germans. The average soviet soldier was undisciplined as the military high command recognised that the eastern front was a war of attrition, thus they trained there soldiers far less then the germans and decided quantity over quality was the best choice. This was reflected in everything the soviets did, down to almost everything they produced (Just look at the specs for the T-34 vs panzer 5 or 4) The soviets were also very aggressive and the fact that they were fighting for there survival was true, however the soviets were more aggressive then the germans when it compares to ideologies as the Nazis wished for Lebensraum in which they would take large parts of eastern and Northern Europe and also take some parts of Western Europe, while the soviets believed the in the world revolution, where they would take over the entire world. The war between the soviets and the nazis were inevitable as there was soviet plans to invade nazi Germany however hitler invaded them first.Both sides were evil in the war however the soviets killed people indiscriminately while the germans killed Jews, gays, and people of colour as they saw themselves as superior. Both reasons are horrific and sickening to the core.

These Cod games were super hard on veteran difficulty as that time we had HP and we didn't got any health kits in veteran mode but nowadays in cod games there are no HP and also it regenerates..... That's why olden days cod were really hard
Farid they did. If you were Christian or of any other religion, they would send you to gulag or kill you (anyway, in both cases you would die). That's how USSR killed over 20 million innocent people, a lot of them were killed for being Christians. The reasons were probably these: 1. Stalin wanted to be seen almost like a God 2. Religion is expensive and USSR didn't want to spend money on human rights and freedom and religions

It's amazing how little imagination the devs of Call of Duty have when it comes to the Eastern Front, this is literally another Enemy at the Gates Clone, except instead of crossing a river in a boat being shot at by Stuka's, you are crossing a field in a truck being shot at by stukas, instead of blown up buildings and narrow streets your running through blown up vehicles and narrow ravines and trenches.
If i have to be honest i haven't played a better WW2 FPS since i played this like 20 years ago... I still remember defending Pavlov's house... i will never forget that mission and all the comrades that were lost.
