WW2 Bridge Bolt Becomes a Beautiful Shaving Tool

Some time ago i was sent this WW2 Mulberry bridge bolt dated 1943, so i decided i would turn it into a nice little Kamisori Straight Razor.
The bridge was rescued from a field in France and restored for Duxford Imperial War Museum, with some of the bolts having to be replaced and one finding its way to me.

Love this project: gorgeous work as always combined with sourcing the material from a piece of history, THEN you add in annealing little DP in the oven and the outtakes…Brilliant! Hope the life size Deadpool put some ice on that elbow, otherwise he won’t be hitting the next project quite so hard. Keep up the great work my friend! BTW, my kids thought you were saying, “Foot, foot, foot” whenever you messed up a line. 😇

Aw dang, that's a slick razor! I always love seeing the small bits that make up history being repurposed. One of my favourite knives was smithed by a friend out of a large ball-bearing salvaged from a local pulp mill that shut down back in 1998. Holds a hell of an edge, too, that steel.

Gorgeous. Very nice grind, the hollow grind is something I need to get better at, and you just gave me a good shove to do so!. Funny, my friends always know when I have made a new blade because of the large swaths of missing arm or leg hair! Great stuff man

This is comedy relief at its best. A lot of fooking around I see. That bolt sure did draw out easy. I guess cause I wasn’t banging around on it. I’ve never seen any use a 123 block like that. I seriously need to order from you sometime, I love your work, I'm surprised you're not a millionaire yet... I bet you can find more stuff if you like magnet fish in a river or location where a factory was. I've seen people pull out huuuuuuuuuuuge bolts.

One day I will be mate. Magnetic fishing here is rubbish ive tried a few places and nothing good came from it unfortunately
