As I watch you two on the hunt for history it is still amazing to me what the earth yields up to your metal detector! Sad to think about all the horror the soldiers on both sides experienced in what today is such a peaceful location.

Two intrepid explorers on the hunt once again, thank you both for sharing these finds with, and your knowledge, gained over many years of detecting. It's so nice to see you and EE in the woods on a metal detection adventure, as you so often did in your earlier videos. A lot of it seems like shrapnel, if so I'd expect a lot of fighting in this area and a lot of artifacts till waiting to be discovered. Both of you be well and be safe...

It is good to see HH and EE enjoying time together on a beautiful day. The forest is full of history with all the fox holes. All the bits of shrapnel testify to the battle that was raging around them, the three of you (including BBG) are honorary members of the club by now! The belt buckle piece is a great find. Great work you are doing, reviving history and showing the grim reality of war. It is good to show respect for those that lost their lives. Many were just like you and me, ordinary hardworking people doing their duty for their homeland. Their sacrifice deserves to be remembered via the objects they left behind. I am also enjoying watching the videos on your other channel. Restoration is an interest of mine too.

HH you and your son EE are doing a very important and useful job. Of course, some may think that you're looking only for german relics, as i've been able to read in one of the comments below, but honestly, is it worth asking for it? Every soldier who has fought on these battlefields and locations deserve respect, because none of us knows how we would have react in the turmoil of war times. That said, it's always emotional to come across those relics, and thinking about who was the young man who last touch it, etc ... History Hunter, you are contributing to keep history as the souvenir of these hard times alive, and making your family doing this with you, is exceptional. You certainly are a good man. Stay safe; Keep looking for history. MERCI de nous faire partager cela

Lit intro tunes. Did you choose those EE? Enjoyed your welcoming introduction EE along with your Dad's. Pretty soon he won't be able to catch up with you while chasing after you. It's heartwarming to see you two holding hands while off on another adventure. Many foxholes there. Can't imagine the fear and terror when getting a glimpse of the approaching enemy. The German belt buckle was quite the find. The discovery of the German Iron cartridge, splinters, horse shackle & horseshoe, mortar from machine gun, etc definitely indicated once again a lot of death, defending, and conflict occurred. I imagine you will be returning. Thanks and stay safe you two.

Very successful Father and son adventure. You seemed to be well equipped with some of the best metal detecting tools - the Multi Kruzer and Nokta Pointer. I read the reviews and they are very highly rated. It seemed like a beautiful fall day, perfect for history hunting. Too bad you didn't find anything of interest under the fallen tree, there's always next time. You found enough artifacts indicating the war time activity that went on at that site. Certainly did find many splinters. Are there any benefits associated with being members of the 50"s Splinter Club x2? :) Looks like you really enjoyed your Father and Son time and we enjoyed tagging along with you. I think the tool is for a bike . I've got a similar one in my shed. When you clean it up if it has renak or torpedo written on it , it would be WWII German. Btw torpedo is in a nice cursive script and renak is just stamped in capitals

2:57 WOW those look like mG 151 - 20mm MINE ROUNDS HH. It is a bullet INSIDE a bullet like 2. FLAK shells used by the PAK 38. Those are RARE TO FIND. 9:11 HORSE girth strap buckle definitely. 11:45 you tell us the Germans had MANY troops on bicycles? I have seen the WW2 footage of troops with panzerfaust, MG's and many things. This looks like a tool I have for my mountain bike, a cycle spanner. It has many sizes on it to fix your bike if it breaks down or the chain comes off etc - it looks exactly like this. GREAT VIDEO THUMBS UP EVERYONE for HH & EE.

When you find a relic, do you wonder about the last soldier to touch it and what happened to him? I often wonder about the items in my collection.

I doubt you will see this but was just wondering if you or anyone else has ever found any artifacts from the early 1800s when Nepolan was fighting well everyone in those same area's. As I just watched a amazingly well done documentary on that time period. Anyway great video!

The tool could be a multiwrench for exchange of barrel of an MG. They overheated and each MG squad carried several barrels

Every Item has a story! Like the small pistol cartridge you found in the fox hole. That soldier could have been completely out of ammo and had to resort to his pistol just as swarms of red army soldiers ran towards him.
