For this video, we are looking into a basic impression of a German soldier during the Normandy campaign in June of 1944. This impression is based on many photos of Germany Heer soldiers in the few days/weeks of the Normandy landings. This is basic because it does not follow any specific unit, which could have some unique features to the impression.
I do not show a rifle here because I simply do not own one, but normally a soldier like this would carry a standard Mauser K98.
Some things to note:
-Jack boots were seen alongside with lowboots, so both are correct.
-The M42 Feldbluse appears to be the most common uniform seen during the Normandy campaign, but the M40 and M43 were also commonly seen as well. Which makes either uniform correct to use, unless you are portraying a specific unit.
-The M40 side cap was still seen as well, but not as common as the M43 fieldcap. If you wish to use the M40, you would have to remove the Soutach, as it was commonly remove sometime around 1940-1941, if I recall correctly. I did not remove mine because I use it for early impressions as well.
