Take a look at my review of a nice, quality reproduction German WW2 Ration. It's a pretty interesting ration and it was worth the money because the contents were top notch. At the end of the video I included some education slides that I found while doing research for the video, that I thought some people might find interesting so make sure you watch all the way to the end.
Please take a second to like, subscribe or comment. All feedback is greatly appreciated. Also feel free to leave a comment with video suggestions, I am willing to at least look into most ideas. Also if you have any questions please feel free to leave them in the comments. I like to hear from viewers and hear what they though and even accept some constructive criticism (nothing vulgar, obscene, or anything of the sort). And check us out on Facebook by clicking the link on our Channel Page.
Make sure to hit that subscribe button before you leave my channel. Thanks so much for your time.

If you put the stewed beef and the soup together and crumbled up the crisp bread in it, it would probably be pretty good. Thanks for sharing 👊

And of course always find someone who actually speaks German and understands the instructions. For crying out loud, German is about the 10th most spoken language on the planet. German speakers are not a scarce resource, There's plenty of us! The pea soup comes with some very specific instructions on how to prepare it, in one of the world's major languages. Just follow it. If you don't understand it, find someone who does. Same goes for everything else.

That's a 24 hours combat ration, Halbieserne or “Iron Ration” that contained one 300-gram tin of meat and one 125- or 150-gram unit of hard bread. The canned meat could be Schmalzfleisch (a pork product), Rinderbraten (roast beef), Truthahnbraten (turkey), or Hahnchenfleisch (chicken). In addition, there was canned Fleischkonserve, its contents generically, and thus ambiguously, labeled “canned meat,” which allowed for a number of interpretations. Very good review 👌

There's a big difference between the Nazi Army (SS) and the Wehrmacht (Regular Army).

@@mariuszcieslak3667 One is simply the regular National Army, while the other one was a private Personal Army called Leibstandarte SS. It later branched into more specialized Divisions.

How did I miss this upload!!!! Been happening a few time with other channels I subscribe to. RU-vid forgets to send me notification. This is proper cool and another excellent review. I suppose they would quarter the soup block and spread it out over the whole day, maybe? As always respect from England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🤗

As a German speaker I will translate 3 packets of fake coffee rye crackers pea soup and one can of pork mystery meat. Enjoy

Did the Nazis have to provide their own homoeroticism or was that in the rations?

I must say that I love how you untie the string rather than cut it with a knife. A long piece of string may be very useful in the field, so preserving its length this way is a very clever move.

You could put the meat in the 'soup' liquid... I mentioned in a reply here somewhere that the German Army had a lot of field kitchens on a trailer. They also had a bread ration for each trooper. They had a bread pouch on the back of their combat belt. But they also put other things in them though. Probably food related items. The spoon and fork folding utensil. Their mess tins and such. Plus the bread ration.

Oops, I forgot to mention this, my brother told me a story about a captured German soldier who was given a box of rations to eat. He looked at it and asked the American soldier where was the hot food?

This was really interesting to see. Some of these old rations are so tiny it makes you wonder how they actually fought so hungry.
@jamesnicholson3658

they probably supplemented it by "living off the land" or stealing other peoples crops tbh

when you fight you have an adrenaline rush and the last thing you want is food, plus the stress makes you not want it

The Germans had a lot of field kitchens on a trailer. I'm not sure what they cooked in them though. They had a ration of bread, which was supposed to be placed in the bread pouch on the back of their combat belt. How often they would get the bread ration I don't know.
