On sunday, the 23rd of june, I showed my little Lazarett to the public during the WW2 reenactment event 'Museum comes to life', in Melderslo, The Netherlands.
The organizer put a lot of effort in this small, but very high standard event !
A lot of original WW2 vehicles were attending this event !
I also had the chance to ride a long a German Sd.Kfz. 251 German Halftrack !
Make sure you watch the whole video !!

Why haven't the repo helmet makers got the helmet skirts right yet, always looks they've took the hem of the skirt up, the way you do with a real skirt, even the m42 skirt looks shorter even with the raw edge, they always seem to be 5 or 10 mil shorter than the original, i think they're taking the size of the original skirt, without taking into consideration there's a few mil of the original finished size folded into a rim, and this extra few mils is taken off the original size, making the skirting to short, not enough flair etc, but maybe if the collecting, hobby world etc, wasn't controlled by the money men, everything over priced big time, i remember back in the 70s when the only real collecting outlet was the exchange and mart magazine, when you get original iron crosses, class two about £40, and the class one not much dearer,or a k98 bayonet, you could get for £20, at some of the local antique shops, but it's all under control of the money men who between them keep the prices high, and German helmets, even the local pretend hells angel bikers all had german helmets, picklehaubs, and medels etc, the early and mid 70s was an Aladdin's cave for the military collecting world, and especially third Reich millitaria.

@@thepraetorianguardchannel sorry mate I wasn't in the least comparing your groups helmets or equipment, I've always liked the German stuff, and especially the helmets, which I had a couple of in my younger day, including an M16 shell when I was in my early teens back in the early 70w when there was still a lot of stuff available, even the local pretend hells angels with their 100cc bikes had helmets, loads of insignia etc, but what I'm trying to say is that the manufacturers of even the best repos, are still not getting the skirting correct, they're using the original outside finished sizes of the skirts, and then folding the rim size from this, and not taking into consideration that the inside rim size should be added to the outside size and then folded, or outwards for the m42s, and that's always going the problem with the manufacturers, they're omitting the rim size, and then folding the rim off the original finished skirt, like I said mate, youse have got a great wee hobby, and you're gears well presented, but just a pity the genuine stuff wasn't priced out of the normal guys range, and to be truthful, it's well over priced, when you realise how much of it is out there, I've even seen rusty bits of skirting being advertised for over a £100 on e,bay, that tells all you need to know mate, anyway hopefully one day you'll be wearing a nice original restored helmet of you're of your own, me I'd love a nice m42 helmet,I think the m42, is the jewel in crown of M16 design and evolution, it's perfect haha, anyway mate, good luck with you're re'enacting , and honestly none my original comment aimed at any of your,or you're groups helmets,it was the manufacturing people i was on about mate.
