One minor thing that I've been asking for for years is add a 'crowd intensity' option for superstars where you can control how loud the crowd pops/boos a superstar. CAWs always come out to silence, and someone like Dominick shouldn't come out to a pop similar to that of The Rock. Give us a slider and let us adjust the pop.
Crowd reaction should be based on the match star rating and by the popularity they have in their attributes . the start of the match the fans are not loud and by then end they get louder and react more
It was always kind of irritating me that it seemed that certain superstars come out which I assumed were the developer's favorites, had louder entrance noise than Stone Cold Steve Austin. 🤣🤣
@@mikedagostino8509 That’s always going to be an issue when people take advantage of creative freedoms. I honestly don’t think that was the issue. It was most likely due to optimization issues. The game already took ages to load simple cutscenes and matches. Create A Story was notorious for its absurd load times in previous games; and with the graphical updates of the current and next gen era WWE games, the game would take 2 minutes to load 30 second scenes.

3:30 really hope this is an optional change and the old kick out system is still there. Take out your nostalgia glasses and you'll realize how unfair button mashing is, since you're just hoping the game will let the match go on. If the game decides *that's it*, there's nothing you'll be able to do about it. With the timing system you always have a chance of kicking out.
I agree this sounds awful! This isn't supposed to be street fighter. The controls was the only thing that really didn't need updates outside of maybe a better submission mechanics. All this ducking dodging stuff as well. How often do you see wrestlers making boxing dodges almost never.
Questions were some of the most thought out and detailed I’ve seen in a sports game interview. Kudos to Brian here for the information we were able to get.

But he forgot talk about if there was any improvements to backstage brawl such as new areas and new objects and stuffs to interact with!! try and bring back the HCTP backstage brawl as that had so many object interactions!! I'm sure everyone wants to know including me!! 🤔 this will also make the game "Hit different"
I love the sound of Superstar mode, sounds like a season/mini career mode , I like controlling just one Superstar at a time and playing through separate matches/stories, sounds really fun, can't wait, 6 weeks to go woo
I really enjoyed this interview! I feel like compared to past interviews for these games, this one seemed more open and honest about which things are good, what needs improvement, things they can't do right now but might in the future, etc. also really good questions were asked. After the way 2K20 turned out, I'm definitely feeling optimistic about this game!
Man Brian, I hope thr creation suite isn't cut too much. I was hoping it's even more ha. I would literally spend at times, 3hrs making a character. It's one of the things I enjoy the most :(
Wwe 2k games are already solid (bugs aside) imo, the only thing missing is a fire pro wrestling type logic system for better A.I. and a move/finisher creator added to the game to make it a great wrestling game.
This actually gives me hope so thanks homie! I just really wish they'd stop putting a year on it. We DO NOT need a new wrestling Sim every year. It's simply not enough time for developers to make significant changes and improvements
Believe me 2k wants more then a year but WWE doesn't allow it they just allowed it this time after the issue with 2k20 and I'm pretty sure 2k had to beg them for it
@@Bigjay88888 yes especially from the ground up WWE doesn't care they just want a game out so they can get they money's worth I'm not saying 2k does either, but alot of the issues is bc the deadline in the contract WWE has with 2k.
Well, the button-mashing concerns me, hopefully there's an option to alternate between the button-mashing and the timing-system.. At least with the timing-system, there's a fighting chance to actually comeback.. Late in the match it's not certain, sometimes I miss that little green mark, but when I do hit that little green mark, it's just a great feeling that you can get back into the match, and you're telling me that's gone? For sweaty button-mashing, where if you just take a certain amount of damage, there's nothing you can do, you're just done? I sincerely hope not, but allow us to pick whether we want button-mashing or the timing-system.
@@truindividual Exactly! I can only suggest "get good" when people cry so much about the timing-system... Had a guy recently tell me he lost early in the match, green bars, at the first pin attempt, because he felt so early in the match it should just automatically kickout... These are the lunatics who are crying the most, I asked him, "you couldn't even hit that wide-ass bar, that early in the match, bro?" He said, nah, it's stupid that he has to do anything to kickout that early... Then WTF do they think button-mashing is?!?! I recall back then, playing No Mercy and Day of Reckoning, people had to go nuts, go apeshit, and nearly break the controller just to kickout.. People complained about that, and we were relieved that button-mashing was gone, or at least now it's optional... Now, these fools want it back, I would be pissed if they just removed the timing-system, because people suck.
@@ShoNuffKMW they’re doing it so brand new players can jump in without a learning curve, which is good since the things that need a learning curve is like the combos which make you better. I think something as fundamental as kicking out shouldn’t have a learning curve.
I agree %. I sucks having 300+ caws, split between alt profiles. 😭😭😭 People would request matches on my RU-vid page, only for me to tell them the caw they're asking for, are on separate profiles.
Just found your channel and subbed! Great interview. Also... I haven't bought a WWE game since 2k18. I wasn't impressed with it at all. I'm definitely interested in this one tho. It sounds like everything I've been wanting.
I wonder if you pick that option to only play as one person in Universe mode if you can still watch other matches or if you don't feel like playing as one character if you can switch off from it and keep your progress. I would have asked that to follow up with the initial Universe mode question.
AKI's No Mercy and Virtual Pro Wrestling 2 are still king in my book, because despite all the so-called improvements made in the last 20 years, the games haven't been fun to play. No matter how many mini-games, QTE, abilities to over design and gamifying things that don't need to be gamified. AKI games even their Def Jam and Ulitmate Muscle ones had innate controls and simple but deep gameplay that had nothing coming between me and like RJ City says "doing the moves." Video game journalist and game developers gaslighting gamers telling us what "we think we want" is not cute and sells you exactly 0 games. Smackdown games imitated AKI style gameplay (grappling, pace, counters with shoulder buttons) and modern versions of features with the benifit of having more disc space like in HCTP, DOR, SVR '06, etc where in a nice pocket for what I like. AKI was was great at designing a wrestling game from a gameplay perspective. If 2K has found out how to do that I would be impressed, but, I think if that were true, there woul be some in-ring gameplay footage by now. Not close ups on moves or entrance screenshots with the game is coming out in two months.
2k is a great studio full of great developers.. try this same interview with EA it would be full of scripted generic responses and riddled with lies and features that aren't going to appear in the game or be incorporated wrong and broken at launch .. Salute to 2k hopefully they get the rights for sim football games soon
@1life1love I did play 2k20 it was horrible but 2k did the right thing by issuing refunds and taking a year off to focus and correct their game. Madden has been broken since forever. You think EA is going to take a year off to fix it. Or just keep placing band-aids on recurring issues and releasing a trash broken product
10:35 speaking of clipping can y’all PLEASE fix the clipping issue with belts I know it’ll probably never be perfect but it seemed like y’all were doing decent like a few years ago and then things fell apart with that.
The art direction is good. The colours are spot on. 2k18 -2k20 while it they looked good were way to saturated and didn't look like the real product. Honestly don't care about the extra stuff. All I care about is the new gameplay which I'm hoping is gonna be good and not boring like the past 10 years. Also my boy GM mode is back 🔥🔥🔥
Off the top of my head I wish you asked if they removed or added any match types if women can bleed and I’m Really worried about them removing things from the creation suite
What would be a deal breaker for you to be removed? There are hairstyles and accessories etc that I would be more than happy never seeing again if we get better things in their stead.

@@cathycatsville67 no it’s not that. custom arena and title are returning. it’s the features inside those that people use to make the wrestlers arenas and titles that I’m worried about hopefully they replace them rather than remove countless things making it feel like a step backwards or limiting.
It’s clear they aren’t, they’ve rebuilt the game from the ground up and added new modes. There’s no way they added new match types, it’s more likely they removed some though
I wanted voice options for caws and custom music. Literally the only 2 additions I've wanted back for years. Will be disappointed if either one of these aren't added.
Man I wish I could talk to Lynell Jinks directly. I would ask him "So Lynell why do you think Yukes got rid of button mashing pin escapes to begin with? Why do you you think 2K eventually got ride of the Breaking Point submission system? Use your brain here, why do you think that is? It's because players hated button mashing and complained about it. So Mr. Creative Director, in all of your infinite knowledge, in what possible reality did you think it was a good idea to bring button mashing mashing back?" I mean if they wanted to get rid of minigames, fair. Have it so you just HOLD X (PS4) when pinned and you either kick out or you don't. But don't bring back god damn button mashing.
@@jklolnotded9267 I'll use it again. I guess I'm more dumbfounded then anything as to why 2K would add button mashing back. Like hell it's not just me, there are already people on social media disapproving of button mashing. It just makes no sense to add back something seemingly so few enjoy.
@@jklolnotded9267 People can use it to cheat with third party software like turbo controllers and such. It gets uncomfortable on the thumbs after a long play session. It helps wear out controllers faster. There are reasons people didn't like it. So yes, I would have to call button mashing being added back into the games a fairly big deal when we're talking about mechanics and how the game works.
Button mashing is five steps backwards for this series.... Also, anyone else concerned about the hesitation in Jenks voice when asked about what can be customized this year? It seems like the only thing that may be in this year is CAS....... I really hope championship and arena are in but I'm yet to find anything even remotely mentioning it anywhere..
I don’t think button mashing is a bad thing. I mean that makes you feel as if you have to break a sweat to kick out at the last minute. I think that’s a plus, reminds me of the old wresting games such as pro wrestling which was a lot of fun to play
I feel the creative suite as well as the moves sets and moves in general have been nerfed. You can no longer blend body types which sucks. Especially after I finally figured out how to use it in 2k19 to make unique body types. No one has said anything or even asked about the roster size. So I am expecting a nerfed roster as well.
@Gol D Kiz That’s a valid point. I guess to each his own. For me though I never found button mashing to take away from the game. To me it made me feel as if I’m fighting to kick out of a pin by mashing the fastest, which drew me into the game. However I do see your point as far as the motor skills is involved. I guess if they have an option then that would be good for both parties, but if not welp I guess it’ll be a win for people who wanted that feature back

What about editing in game superstars hairstyles, rather than creating another version of that superstar in CAS? That’s a creation feature I’ve wanted for a while now! Having like Seth Rollins with a buzz Cut, or Becky Lynch with a mullet, or Randy Orton with a Justin Bieber type of hairstyle! Those little details would be awesome too

@@Savageking1998 well they said it hits different they need to listen to the people it’s the little stuff that makes the game. War games might be a little tuff but with the gen systems they should be able to push the envelope ✉️ a little and the special referee has been a feature in past games.

You guys gotta play fire pro. The system 2k introduced in previous games was not it. Sounds like they took gameplay influence from fire pro which is miles better in terms of gameplay.
@@ehhhrl The problem is if button mashing is the only option, it's gonna be harder to have to epic matches and hopefully I'm wrong but as soon as you get the damage low and hit a finisher, I have a feeling it's gonna be extremely hard to kick out which I'm not a fan of, I hope it's an option. So gm mode but when it came to the segments be and. Promos are backstage segments they should slid some cut scenes from create a story mode and let you edit it yourself
