smackdown vs raw 2006 was impressive af for its time, PS2 pushed to the limit graphicwise, these wwe 2k series lack a lot despite of using more modern consoles
thats exactly what i was thinking. i was like this looks exactly like SVR2011, its been 11 years.. why does this look the same and look like it feels worse?
I was actually considering buying this game up until I saw how terribly out of sync that was. If they couldn’t even get that one specific detail down right, there’s no telling how many other things they screwed up. Just like EA’s Madden, you have people working on these games who aren’t even real fans and don’t give a damn about the source material. They know they’re going to make bank either way just off of the ‘brand’ alone and so don’t have to try.
@@fairwarning007 agreed I take back what I'd said about it after again 2K 15 this is nothing compared to it Yuke's & THQ did it better than 2K EA of wwe games
They messed up Taker too, when he raises his hands, the lights should dim back to full on, in line with his hands raising. I guess Rockstar would have nailed the details.
What sucks is we got Shawn Michaels and Chyna and Triple H but no DX theme .. and for all the Wwe games past we had differnt versions of Triple H and now with Catus Jack coming we cant get him with long hair to recreate past matches yet we are stuck with his current version .. this really suckss
Hilarious that the match starts with the crowd chanting for HHH. I wonder if he still enforces this stuff in games. I remember years ago when magazines were told that he couldn't be pictured in a compromising position where he looked like he was being defeated.
I always enjoy checking up on the progress of the graphics for these games every few years. And every time they are always about five years behind on graphics and animations. These are the same animations from WWE 2008...
This game looks incredible. I’m a 33 year old male who hasn’t played a WWF game since the early 2000s and it’s safe to say I haven’t followed pro wrestling in like 20yrs but this game is giving the itch to purchase it. I’m conflicted lol
Huge NBA and NFL fan and those sports don’t come back for at least two months so I need something to preoccupy my summer gaming with. If basketball and football season are not on for some reason I can’t play their respective games during the off season. Bores me to pieces. Am I the only one that’s like that? Like I only play 2K when NBA is on and madden during football season once those sports end I cannot pick up the controller.
Same. Last time I followed/played games for Wrestling was during PlayStation 2 era with Here Comes The Pain around 2002/2003. These kids are lucky to have graphics this insane. Then again we thought that back then what we had was great.
@@truthbearer7891 my biggest problem is that this game has rey mysterios career yet its missing all the 2000s arenas, even the smackdown with the fist logo like how can rey mysterio be on the cover and that arenas not in the game
No juego un videojuego de lucha desde def jam for ny. Siempre veía este juego, pero no me parecía agradable. Hasta que ví un video sobre esta última edición y decidí jugarlo por primera vez. Es íncreíble
His whole entrance needs a overhaul with timing issues. They never quite get the camera flash right either. Compare with an actual video of his entrance. They never get it close. Still I love these games and I will still buy them. And the merry go round keeps turning!
In a 30 year span he went from a Wild West mortician, returned as a living dead guy, became a cult leader and then suddenly became a biker, then a fusion of the biker and dead guy gimmick but mainly leaning on the latter. Crazy shit
I've been playing the first SVR game lately, and it beats this game in terms of gameplay. None of the moves in 2K22 have any impact whatsoever. In SVR, every damn move has that impact that makes the moves look like they actually hurt. Unreal how they can't capture that feeling again.
Nice to see Hell in a Cell is a neglected mode once again, I'm past counting how many times this has been the case now. It's also refreshing to see that the wrestlers movesets are in line with what they actually do in real life. In case anyone was wondering, I was being sarcastic. Why is it that the Smackdown series from over a decade ago could get the wrestling movesets and likenesses so right and these games can't manage it now when you've got all this motion capture tech and more processing power on tap? At least put the right moveset with the right wrestlers for crying out loud - when has anyone seen Undertaker snap a leg drop without getting maximum height on his leap? It's the little things in these wrestling games.
Yes I agree with you, move-set def sucks in this game. 619 is Rey Mysterio's signature instead of a finisher (???) Rhea Ripley still have the NXT Moveset despite he moved to Main Roster years ago and use Riptide as the finisher, instead of signature (as in the game default) And there's a lot of wrestler that does moves that they never would done in real life. 2K20 was way better in this.
@@muryllo- @Muryllo Knoxville 2K18 was my last wrestling game and I still play it occasionally. It's the best one since 2K14 and 2K14 was the best one in the entire 2K series in my opinion. OG SmackDown vs Raw is my favourite wrestling game of all time, it's just a shame it took a big hit on the visuals and presentation since SmackDown Here Comes The Pain, but everything else about it was on point. OG SmackDown vs Raw with a graphical update and a couple of tweaks here and there would be a damn near perfect wrestling game. Every one after that just tampered with stuff for tamperings sake and just ended up making each iteration since, worse and worse. Not to mention, the product and the rosters gradually declined in line with its real life TV counterpart to add to the problem.and make matters worse. No Mercy obviously deserves an honourable mention and I really enjoyed that series of wrestling games on the N64, but the problem is it hasn't aged very well. A great game needs to be timeless in my opinion to be called a great game and No Mercy falls too short in certain areas. Looking back now, WCW vs NWO Revenge has actually aged the better of the two in my opinion.
I know right? I mean, they didn't even make Undertakers eyes "white" when he takes off his hat. It looked like he was struggling to turn his eyes back and couldn't.
