I think what they really need to do is look at 2k19 and add some stuff from there to 2k24. We need the OMG back in the game. 2K19 is obviously a better game than 2k23, the only thing 2k19 doesn't have is war games. Going to be honest, with all the 2k games I have played except for 2k20, I never change or look at the sliders. 2k22 was the only game where I had to go through the sliders to change something for example wrestlers getting on the top rope, those that aren't supposed to like Andre the giant for example.
19 is WAY better because i want these games for PRO WRESTLING immersion. 23 is an arcade game that gives absolutely no immersion beyond entrances. It's for children. I'm an adult who others sports games to emulate reality
Recently I got both installed again on system. It was hard to pick one. I play 2k19 after 2k23, then it feels slow but actually it feels at the pace a real wrestler may be at. 2k23 can act too fast for real humans at times. There is better feeling in long tough match in 2k19, like after a long hard match the win feels like it, wrestler behaves like he went through hell. In 2k23, it feels like got quite lucky on last shot so I won. I feel I will keep 2k19, and change 23 to 24 when time comes,also because I'm making wrestler in that, like recently I put Solo and LA Knight in there. Anyways, my major concern with 2k23 gameplay is the guessing system, I don't like it. It can take control out of your hands to reverse. Having single reverse button is better I feel.
100% agree with everything you said. I would get rid of the whole button smashing system, am glad we get to choose which system we want for pin and submission. it's like be careful for what you wish for because you just might get it.
@@blackrock316 Yeah, I wish for submission they could bring back system from 2k19, it worked well. There was this element to it, sometimes I could be pinned if I'm not sharp, sometimes even late game escape may happen. In button mashing, late game submission moves are dead end.
@@TheSinLord The submission system from 2K19 was the most realistic, and fair system ever implemented in a wresting game. Guys didn't just release the hold anymore like in previous games. If you did damage to a certain area you could gain an advantage with a bigger meter, but your opponent still had a chance to get out if they were skilled enough. If they combined this with the kind of rope break animations from Here Comes The Pain it would be even closee to perfect.
I did CPU Brock Lesnar vs. CPU Trick Williams In 2K23 and the match took a very long time to finish with Trick winning. 🤦♂️ While in 2K19, I did CPU Brock vs. CPU Mike Kanellis and Brock squashed Mike in a few minutes! 👍
I agree 23 a.i. is better than 19 a.i. because with 23 u keep giants like Braun Strowman and omos from going to the top rope and jumping 2k19 u couldn't do that and was not realistic
For me they go less to no time in 2k19. In 2k23, I have set to 10% and still Roman and Gunther go to top rope. I don't want to put it as zero, they can go in a very rare case but it's not rare
@@TheSinLord the way this game is made for some reason like an arcade style game instead of straight up simulation, there's a reason why they go on the top rope and with 2k19 we didn't have to change sliders
This is absolutely right. If the core gameplay is total ass, and the wrestlers are hopping around like boxers, and there's no chain wrestling or rest holds, sliders dont automatically make u the king. I really shouldnt be playing the crap out of 2K19 still in 2023. Very sad. People only like the new 2K for the graphics. That's the only thing it has going for it. Give me a new 2K19. With Wargames in custom arenas, special referee, and 3 stages of hell. We needed new match types, and GM mode, not combos.
@@shadowsimarchitect9679 Also, don't forget in 19 they have it where when you press x and move the analog stick there's no stupid front facelocks there's only an actual move just like in a real match. I also still play the crap out of 2k19 cuz it's just perfect, the only thing missing is some extra match types and create a ppv, story, and finisher that actually finishes a match (2k14 cough cough). This game LITERALLY has the most moves that I've ever seen in a wrestling video game, and people just act like it's nothing.
@@smoothoperator6726 On top of all that, if you're a Universe guy, and play with crap tons of different wrestlers you pretty much get to know a lot of movesets pretty easily in the New 2K if you decide to utilize combos which I rarely ever do because they look absolutely ridiculous. You have to pause the game to even figure out what move you're going to be attempting. Plus with the way the a.i sells strikes now because of the combos, it looks like crap. In 2K19 strikes looked pretty legit, sometimes the same strike that you didnt go down on before will bring you down to a knee later on. What was 2K thinking. They literally had a good foundation for the wrestling version of their NBA game. Imagine if in the next NBA 2K game they decided that they should implement unrealistic crap from NBA Jam.
Spent more time adjusting sliders and non sense moveset than actually play matches. 2k23 just dont make sense. They just should bring back chain wrestling and stop putting random moveset for everyone and watch matches. And fix animations like rko that look bad. And the reversal that make no sense like shiranui reversal for cutters and snapmares wtf i do a rko on mysterio then he does a strowman powerslam to me. Awfull. I take orton i reverse a floor move i do the enzuiguri to escape. Like stop this crap add basic moves and stop letting children make theses games What makes AEW fight forever better in a way is when you do a reversal you escape from the move. It lets you choose what you do next. And its what 2k should have done like 10 years ago. And please stop to talk about this everyone lie to himself. Wwe 2k19 and 20 are better games for too many reasons and thats the bottom line.
I've probably spent more time adjusting sliders, and setting up Universe modes than actually playing it. But the time I finish setting up the Universe, and play a match I'm so disgusted by the gameplay that I dont even play it anymore.
@@blackrock316 Its just my opinion, but the gameplay is supposed to be grapple based, but instead its combos, and strike based. Its supposed to be a wrestling based. Makes it feel like a fighting game with wrestling moves
@@shadowsimarchitect9679 oh got ya, I agree. to this day I don't understand why they made those changes and it's probably due to listening to the wrong fans online smh. Not only some of the wrester's move set are wrong, but you would notice the AI tends to do the same thing over and over again and it's probably due to the combo system. It's also why certain moves don't look that good. Damn I miss the 2k19 control style.
