2024: Undisputed WWE Universal Champion! Honestly the evolution of Cody is so inspiring. Born the son of a legend, but he didn't have the silver spoon treatment in WWE. He was just like any other wrestler. If I was him, I would've lost hope if I was given the Stardust gimmick at 30 years of age. Leaving WWE at that time was the right decision for Cody. Building himself from the ground up outside the big league really elevated him to be a serious competitor in the game. People started paying attention to the 'Cody' more than the 'Rhodes'. His return to WWE gave that 'ultimate underdog' feel, and look at him now. Fulfilling his father's legacy and being the biggest face in wrestling. He never got the Roman Reigns treatment early on in WWE, but now Cody's the one that ended the most dominant reign in modern times, which is coincidentally held by Roman. I find this story really poetic, from the script to real life. Edge said it true, the age where wrestlers' careers blossom is usually late 30s, as they gained enough wisdom and sense of the business.
