The Khashoggi murder, the fact that Shawn Michaels ruined his retirement for the payday, and the slap in the face to the Women's Revolution by not promoting Evolution and consistently promoting Crown Jewel make this show an absolute disaster and deserves its place in the deepest depths of hell.

Two other things to note: WWE got in trouble with the Saudis for a promo for Backlash at the Greatest Royal Rumble because the women were in their ring gear and after Khashoggi's death there was no mention of where Crown Jewel was being held.

Very well done video. I still tend to believe that main event was a fever dream and actually never happened. In my mind Shawn Michaels still retired at Wrestlemania 26. And I believe it's for the better we all do and not remember that car crash as his last match he had.

The sad thing is Shawn Michaels looked pretty good. It was everyone around him who ruined it. He should've had a match with Daniel Bryan or AJ Styles around this time if he was going to come out of retirement.

As someone from a country ( Trinidad and Tobago 🇹🇹 population 1.9M😂) that’s too small to likely ever have a live WWE event, I always look at the shows in Saudi Arabia with a bit of sympathy or rather empathy for the crowd, not the ruling family not the WWE who are getting paid handsomely to be there but the people who get to experience some thing that I will likely never get to experience when I think of it like that it’s hard for me to be angry at WWE for taking part in this farcical deal with KSA. Look at how happy WWE being in the UK made a lot of the UK fan base how are we if we’re being fair supposed to deny the citizens of Saudi Arabia that same experience because of things that are beyond their control? It’s a tricky thing and I don’t argue with anyone that chooses not to watch/support it, I understand why but personally I choose to watch, although 😅I do wish I hadn’t seen HBK do ... well yeah THAT match also wish I never saw ANY Goldberg match 😅😢😂🤷🏾‍♀️

That's the one thing that makes me not feel like a complete scumbag for watching some of them. You can tell those crowds are absolutely giddy to be there, and for those people i imagine it means a lot that WWE came to them. Unfortunately, WWE isn't thinking about them and is only thinking about the money, but the result is the same. When did these start? 2018? We are just halfway through that deal, but I don't see these going away that soon unless something catastrophic happens. Well. I guess something catastrophic did happen in COVID so I wonder if that deal has been extended anyway.

I refuse to ever acknowledge that BOD vs DX match, it just never happened. Still think it was disrespectful for Shawn to come out of retirement, but we all know how convincing Vinnie Mac can be, so I have no doubt that had something to do with it. I still think WWE has no business in Saudi Arabia, especially since it’s supposedly in it’s “women’s revolution” era. How can you pretend to be for women in sports, then go to a country that won’t even let them participate, or even attend that show without another male? Blood money is what it is.

This show did so much to ruin the legacy of all involved and confirmed to all the skeptics that Saudi Arabia was a creatively bankrupt series of PPV's fueled by blood money. 4 years on, people do their best to erase this show from their memory just to keep HBK's retirement sacred at Mania 26.

5 reasons why I believe this PPV is the worst ppv of all time, worse than December to Dismembered. Worse than the worse WCW ppv's.... worse than Heroes of Wrestling 1: The burial of Braun Strowman 2: The concept of the World Cup (and it being all American 3: A McMahon winning it through kayfabe reasons just to clarify its all about the McMahon's 4: Ruining the story of Shawn's WM26 retirement 5: it aired on my birthday. If the pre show is the Solid match of the night you know your in a world of trouble....

2018 was just a god awful year for WWE anyways. Despite Danielson returning, Matt Hardy finally being able to do the "broken Matt" gimmick and a few other cool things, most of that year sucked for WWE. Crown Jewel 2018 was pretty much just the icing on the cake.
