Hello everyone!
For our newest playlist here on the Praying Grantis Channel, the time has come for us to go through the illustrious career of John Cena. More specifically, we'll be focusing on each of his sixteen world title victories. Since John Cena vs JBL was covered in the last video, the time has come for us to examine the man who could go down as Cena's greatest rival; Edge.
On the same night that John Cena won his first WWE Championship, Edge also made history by becoming the first Money in the Bank briefcase holder. Thanks to his win at WrestleMania 21, Edge had a full year to cash-in a world title opportunity whenever he saw fit. That cash-in would occur at New Years Revolution 2006, as Edge chose to capitalize on a wounded John Cena, who had just moments before defended the WWE Championship inside the elimination chamber. It took two spears, but Edge defeated Cena to win his first WWE Championship. A rematch for the belt was then scheduled for the 2006 Royal Rumble, which brings us to our video here today.
Without further ado, let's go back in time and witness Edge vs John Cena at the 2006 Royal Rumble, courtesy of SmackDown vs RAW 2006...
*When this match occurred, Edge was escorted to the ring by none other than WWE Hall of Famer; Lita. However, on SVR 2007 there isn't a single vs someone with a manager option for title matches, so for the sake of maintaining accuracy she was cut from the match. With that being said, her inclusion when this match aired contributed greatly to the match.
