Bret was in his prime during his ten year reign from 1987- 1997. He was the greatest tag team wrestler and the greatest singles wrestler. Nobody, not even a single guy was no where near Bret hart. He climbed the pinnacle of wrestling. Even though he made his debut in 1984, he rose to fame in the year 1987.
It’s so cool that I was watching this as an 7 year old on tv and now watching it again at 17 from your perspective. You attended a pretty legendary episode my guy.
Free Bird Dead serious too. Bret Hart took out the entire NWO single handedly back in WCW. He would’ve been bouncing all over the nexus and leave them in a pile. Lol.
It was only during his two year tenure at wcw, Bret lost his momentum. But, still Bret had his moments at wcw. His rivalry with ric flair at souled out, with sting at mayhem, with ddp at world war3, with Chris Benoit ( a tribute to Owen hart) and Goldberg at starrcade are worth remembering.
I’ve been flicking through this upload for about 5 years. Love the pop The Excellence Of Execution got. I haven’t watched this show properly since 2006.
Imagine if Khali got eliminated from the team like he did, but the Nexus didn't attack Mark Henry, preventing him from "auditioning" from the team. Imagine the Worlds Strongest Man in that team, they already got a lot of power with Cena (even though I hate him), Edge and Jericho, plus the agility and speed of Morrison and Truth, plus the experience of Bret, just to put overkill in why not the unstoppable force that is Mark Henry (which is how they would have booked his appearance in the match to be until it came to a brawl between him and Sheffield.) Then again, we wouldn't have had the Goat. Also, Cena didn't realise that Miz was beings smart about his decision to join the team, anyone who spoke and said they'd join were attacked by Nexus. Miz, being a heel 'considered' it so Nexus assumed he wouldn't join, as he is a heel. So Nexus didn't attack him as they didn't have the time too when he did announce his decision.
@omslemming hell, give the kid a break. I'm just glad some wresting fans still have respect for legends. Besides, hart should have gotten the biggest pop of those clowns I saw.
Derek Wiedenheft honestly, looking back on this, i think it was the nostalgia factor for a little 17 year old me. Dont think id give a crap if he was at a show i went to lol. Ive done 30+ more shows since this including 3 Wrestlemanias so ive seen it all now.
