The Luxe feels like a rip off for the price compared to the Shoprine, especially considering they have a little bit of a reputation for plates tarnishing much faster than they should. Honestly, the ION being inaccurate isn't much of a problem for me at all. I have the Big Gold Book as well and I love it. I wish WWE would release little books covering the history of belt designs like Winged Eagle, Big Eagle, Undisputed, and the Reggie IC. Great video as always.
I definitely don't feel ripped off. I love my Luxe. Best belt in my collection. Worth $800 imo. But definitely find a Big Gold that fits what you like. That's what's most important.
I saw that you donated $25 to my gofundme. Thank you Stephen! Your health scare made the rounds on Facebook in the belt community. I'm glad your diagnosis came back in a fortunate manor. I'd love to collaborate in the future.
My only nitpicks with the shoprine is the lack of shine on the gold and of course the ION letters, both of which are not deal breakers for me. With that said I still prefer the shoprine since the main plate shape is more accurate and won't tarnish as easily as the luxe
If it doesn't shine enough for you, I have a video of how to buff it to a shine. It's a nice belt but needs a shine and releather. A restone wouldn't hurt either.
I prefer the shop design wise over the fandu. I do like the fandu, it's shinier. If they shined up the shoprine plates like the fandu, it'll be the best thing going today. I get if they were trying to keep it at a certain price point. Damn all that it's the crumrine, give it some respect. WWE put more effort in lesser titles. Put some respect on IMO the greatest world title ever.
Hazardf5 just did a clear coat video, and it looks spectacular!!! It went from a toy looking belt, to a MUST HAVE! I know put the Shoprine in the #1 spot to owning a "crumrine". Value to quality ratio is an auto winner. I honestly dont like Fandu, because its thicker than TV accurate, and reminds me more of a jewelry piece, rather a belt. its like a yellow shine, doesnt look like gold.
I find the ShopRine to be superior to the Luxe, BUT the "ION" issue is an absolute deal breaker for me. So my wait for a Big Gold I'm willing to purchase continues.
I have a Fandu Luxe Edition and I still consider it my best belt. The leather strap is a bit crappy and could definitely be replaced but mine has Flair, Hogan, Sting, Luger and Goldberg autographs on the back so I'm stuck with it. My plates still look as good as they did when I bought it 3 years ago. No fade that I see. Whenever I take it to autograph signings it gets a lot of compliments. There are some good belt makers out there that could make you a decent Big Gold. When it comes to the Big Gold definitely find the one that'll make you the happiest to have in your possession.
Me personally I go with the wwe shop belts. Only cause financially they’re more affordable for me. But both like nice to me and I would be happy with either one if I had a choice.
I have a Pakistan connect on belts. He’s here in the states in West Virginia. I brought a diecast spinner belt from him built from ground on up. It’s a beauty
As far as I know they fixed the ION on the shoprine. You can just spray clear coat on the shoprine and it'll be a lot more shiny. I gotta go with the shoprine for being more accurate.
The only way i would buy a shoprine is if I couldn't afford the Fandu , and even then, I'd just save up the difference, but for its price , its well worth it
No word yet. WWE Shop just likes to surprise everyone. They didn't tell us it was debuting at Wrestlemania weekend and they didn't give us a warning about when they were going to put it on their site. One morning, it was just there.
I've heard it pronounced both ways. "Fondu" is said as often as Fandu is. Watch other Belt videos of Fandu belts and see what I mean. I wish they would just put it out there how to pronounce their company because nobody knows which way is correct.
