SummerSlam is this weekend, and what looked to be the "biggest party" for women's wrestling fans turned into a bitter nightmare when major names expected to have matches got taken off the card. With help of Paloma Starr, we discuss the two women's matches booked on the show and share our predictions. And we goes on to rant about Becky Lynch, Trish Stratus, and World Women's Champion Rhea Ripley not getting booked on SummerSlam.

UPDATE: Fightful just confirmed that Trish Stratus vs Becky Lynch was pulled off of SummerSlam to limit "the number of matches and the runtimes for PLE shows." They added, "both women are healthy and were available for Summerslam."

We really NEED Asuka to retain for the sake of the WWE Women's Championship. Charlotte is a good performer but she's always in the title picture, let her develop her character more. Maybe she can enter in a mental conflict of her own persona. Something deep. It's just title win after title win. It's just too much honestly. PD: Asuka deserves to be treated with RESPECT!

Nope cause that’s the part of Becky’s gimmick and the point of the feud is about Becky not trusting anybody. I mean Trish backstabbed becky and becky said in a interview where she was in her gimmick that she’s not teaming with anybody again because she can’t trust anybody again. She unfollowed everybody on the roster even lita. But that’s for the storyline when she turns hell she’s going to refollow some person back. So this feud is ending at payback or at extreme rules or maybe fatslane.

I feel dreadful for Trish. She came back probably hoping to look proudly on the achievements of her era and soak in some of the brilliant opportunities that the new girls are getting. Only to be met with the same disrespect and brick wall she was 20 years ago. Nothing's really changed at all. The company just occasionally puts the money-making women over now. The women's 'evolution' was all about looking good in an era of equality. They never cared, not one bit. As soon as it's not convenient for them to showcase women, they throw them under the bus. If this is for Trish to stay longer and have more screentime then great. But I don't think that's whats happening. I think they are disrespectful.

⁠⁠⁠@@pedromatias7608eh..debatable, their feud has actually been killing it and it’s great to see two iconic female wrestlers from their respective generations getting this time together to go at it in some cool matches and greatly delivered promos. Also, even though some things have changed, it is true that WWE doesn’t really go all the way when it comes to fulfilling their expectations of the women’s division. You go from like 3 or 4 women’s matches to 2, and the only reasoning as to that is mainly because they needed more time for a men’s match that honestly would’ve been fine as is since Becky vs Trish wasn’t an opener or the main event. Talking about some “be grateful she had a little run” this woman could’ve had a great match at Summerslam with another talented woman to end off her run at a top ppv, but instead people like you just can’t stand when that happens. Like, at this point you need to sit the hell down.

@@pedromatias7608 Okay I'll bite. It's not just about Trish. Becky Lynch has just been pulled from the card. The woman who won the first female WM main event and was their most over star for years. The Women's World Championship isn't being defended. Do you think that Roman or Seth would just be randomly missing from Summerslam? Do you genuinely think there's ever a possibility of a male world champion having to deal with that? Rhea Ripley is currently there to make the men she's in a storyline with more over. They've turned the WWE Women's champion into a sidekick. There's no storyline for Auska's title, just a random triple threat. They are ONLY giving Ronda and Shayna space on the card because Ronda's leaving. The Tag Titles may as well be non-existent considering they are never defended properly. Do you think they'd do any of this to the men? If you do, you're delusional.

I think the reason why certain females cards are pulled from summerslam. Is that they didn’t won’t to many females matches on the card. We would of had if booked right a match with Rhea defending the championship, auska defending her belt, rhonda vs shayna, Trish vs Becky and if done right a womens tag team defense as well. This is why they should of had another wwe evolution. To include all these female matches.

5 womens matches and a potential cash in. I understand why Rhea and the tag titles arent on since there isnt an active story. Smackdown has a bunch of active womens storylines and most of them tie into the title so they couldnt cut that. Im assuming with Rhonda shes leaving soon so they had to get her match with Shayna in before she left. Which meant if they had to cut a womens match for time Trish and Becky would make the most sense especially if Trish is going to be around for longer

I can deeply understand their frustrations. PPVs use to have 9-10 matches back in the day and worked out fine with timing. What's the excuse now? Kid rock gets 10 minutes but becky lynch and trish can't? this what scrapped off the mania 25 tag team unification match in the preshow years ago. Regardless how people feel about Becky Lynch or Trish Stratus, they are still regardless big stars and needed to be treated as one. They have been feuding all summer to end their feud in a random raw? But if this was Charlotte vs trish stratus now it definitely would've fit in the show.

It was probably pulled because of Cody vs. Brock, Seth vs. Finn, Gunther vs. Drew, and Roman vs. Jimmy. There is nowhere to fit it in without it being overshadowed by one of those four matches. Ronda vs. Shayna is a throw-away match that does not matter who wins, and most won't care. Same with Rciohoct vs. Paul.

It was a bad move to pull them. Becky vs Trish deserves a big blowoff PPV match, not some random Raw in Bumblefuck, Canada where Trish isn’t even from. You can cut the Battle Royale. It has no stakes and serves no purpose. I love LA Knight, but there are better ways to push LA Knight than having him win some participation trophy Battle Royale for nothing. He won’t get a US title match, he won’t get an IC title match, he gets basically nothing. If that’s the best they’ve got for him, cut the battle royale, work on giving him a real moment and give Becky and Trish their match.

The triple threat match would overshadow the other two. That would also happen because more people will wonder if Iyo cashes in and wins and then what Bayle does. Then you have four other big matches that more people want to watch. Leaving them with three meh matches that people can use as bathroom breaks.

Lets see. Yes I agree Trish vs Becky and Rhea vs well unknown superstar( Raquel Rodriguez). Could've added more viewers for them to proceed in making Summerslam more epic. These storylines are just not right at all. The two womens matches we have well yes they are great but they dont grab the peoples attention and its what they need right now. I dont get the whole LA Knight battle royal I feel like it was just total disrespect to which cards like that on women who are top tier main eventers. So much more potentials couldve been added to these storylines. Hopefully the matches that are going to be taking place on Raw gets a good long match that last 30 minutes (not gonna happen) and give them the respect and hardwork they have been putting in. Creative in general needs to step up instead of stepping down. Thats all from me😅😂

Just look at Becky's booking since triple H took over. He's never been a fan. She was treated as the black sheep of the horsewomen back in nxt. She never won the nxt women's championship and was almost fired. She was almost taken off of summerslam last year, too. He's been booking her to lose to everybody while his golden girl charlotte still gets everything. It's crazy how she's the highest paid female ever in pro wrestling history, yet they're booking her like crap. What a waste of money.

This woman has never really been able to focus on like actually building other superstars up or even just being in feuds that don’t involve the title or aren’t building up towards the title. Her not winning this match would be a great time for her to actually focus on her in ring talent rather than title runs as she has been looking a bit more shaky recently.

Just another reign to say she held it 15 times and is never letting anyone pass her record for how many times she’s held these titles. She has so much time to go back for a title match as they’re going to give it to her no questions asked, what she really needs to work on is her ability to stand strong in an actual feud that doesn’t involve the title, and maybe one that actually pushes her to build a superstar up.

I just don’t understand canceling Trish vs Becky. Like what good reason is there if they can’t tell us lol. All this year WWE has canceled/postponed women’s matches at the last minute that have gotten people hyped. I’m tired of this shit.

Trish Vs Becky should have made the card. But theres nearly double the men in wwe than there are women but yet we expect 4-5 womens matches on a 8 match summerslam card? They're building two non-title storylines with the women, one of which made the card. So once Ronda is gone, Rhea will probably get that push with Raquel. Her title run has been terrible (which i understand frustration from fans) so expecting her to get a SS match.... no. The only one i think should have made the card is Trish/Becky. I know, as women's wrestling fans, we want more women on TV. But the reality is, there is so many more men sat in catering getting nothing than women. It's not an equality thing... its a playing favourites to get TV time thing.

I think I’m more bothered by the fact Rhea/Raquel isn’t happening, over Trish/Becky. Every title should be defended at SummerSlam. I’d take that over Trish/Becky any day. Hell, they could’ve pulled a WWE and somehow intertwined the storylines and did a fatal four way for the Women’s World Championship.

They should probably go back to brand exclusive PLE's. Smackdowns women division has been great in terms of the amount of current stories being told (even tho they have had time cut a few times on SD recently). Raw has had Becky/Trish and thats really about it with no story even involving the title. If they went back to brand exclusive PLE's the PLE's will have more time for Women matches since it wont be the whole roster
