Was it the best week for women's wrestling fan? We saw 6 matches over the HUGE SummerSlam weekend. 3 matches that stole the events. We discuss the final match of the legendary Trish Stratus, passing the torch to Charlotte Flair. Match of the Year contender match between Io Shirai and Candice Lerae, and the wig-snatching return of The Boss, Sasha Banks.
For the returning spill the tea segment, we discuss why we lack the star power in the current women's locker room. Thank you Roberto Canu for the amazing question.

Fun fact: In both of Trish’s retirement matches, her matches were both followed by Randy Orton matches. In Unforgiven 2006 it was Randy vs Carlito and now, Kofi vs Randy. Lol

I loved Paloma’s insight in this review. Don’t get me wrong I love Lola but she’s still green as a wrestler and still has a “I’m a fan” approach to how she feels about matches & wrestlers, while Paloma has a more of a “I’m an experienced wrestler” mindset when it comes to her thoughts on matches.

Sasha snatching her own wig was the visual representation of me watching Io vs Candice 😂😂. Edit: Also the biggest reason there isn’t a lot of stars is because WWE won’t really push anyone besides the 4HW. At least with Alexa it’s someone different. I like them all but I’m tired of seeing them be the main focus.

Pain Is God Naomi, Ember, Asuka, Kairi, Ruby, Carmella and Sonya have all shown that they can be top stars in the ring and go with the best of them but they are never full given a chance to fully show that or there booking is overshadowed. Then you had girls like Liv and Dana who have gotten so much better in the ring and have gotten fans to be interested in them. WWE has the talent to have a multitude of stars but they only focus on the 4H leaving everyone behind.... unfortunately.

The Kabuki Warriors should split up. Asuka can be a bad ass heel and Kairi a phenomenal underdog babyface. Paige can be used to manage AOP, using the Book of Pain and all like Paul Ellering did. It suits well her character.

We've only seen flashes in WWE of Kairi playing the underdog role she excells at with Shayna Baszler. The more I watch of her Stardom work the more I feel like she's being wasted, She's an exceptional seller and storyteller there's no one else who can generate sympathy as well as her.

It hurts seeing Kairi take pins ( even worse when you know what she's truly capable off ) especially for Alexa 😦😦😦 not that Asuka should be taking them either 😧 but the fact is I think that they should'nt be a tag team, they have very different fighting styles snd they dont really mesh together imo. Upside is Asuka's contract is supposedly ending this year so hopefully she goes back to Japan ( or hopefully another promotion ), become Kana again and dominate like she used to😆

@Quake: Destroyer of worlds but how are they supposed to capture the fans' interest when not given a chance to show their skills on TV or to flesh out their character. One needs to invest in them to really make profit with them. Naomi has many fans and could be a top babyface, Dana was one of the fan favorites at MitB and her underdog "I need to prove that I belong here" was a really good one, Sonya is often considered the woman who best transitioned from MMA to wrestling. They already have an amazing arsenal of stars but they just dropped the ball every single time and gave all the attention to the Four Horsewomen, Ronda and Alexa

It is truly so hard! One person does a backflip while the other does a front flip while standing on the top rope and keeping your balance AND timing has to be right. Plus you have to make sure you don’t land on top of each other and still sell the move...phew! It’s hard! But I think Charlotte is just a natural athlete and would probably be good at any sport she tries

I wouldn’t say that today we don’t have stars but there’s a difference between this current roster and the past one. All women from previous eras found their gimmick, Maria was the dizzy girl, Mickie the psycho fan, Maryse used her French and was overly bitchy, Kelly came across as young & innocent, Lita was the Punk girl, Trish was the country girl, Jazz was the scary dominant one, Victoria was the very jealous diva, Stacy was fiery while Torrie was the all American girl. I mean you could tell their backgrounds but these are literally dressed up as something and we don’t know nothing; example... Ember.

The only thing that really annoys me is how easily upset the fans of Asuka and Kairi get when they lose. They couldn't lose the title so early so they had to win but the fans still hated it and blame Alexa for Asuka and Kairi not getting chances

DS hit the nail on the head. The problem with today’s wrestlers even the dudes is that they all feel the same. Nobody comes in with a unique storyline or character. They all start as wrestlers from the performance center who eventually find a character that fits, but is never explained properly or delve into.

The last Question was a good one and I agree with the answer. But if we think... Back in the day the women wrestling wasnt that good.... So we had Kelly Kelly... Maria... Eve... And other girls who doesnt know how to wrestle but looked good, and started to progress... It was a good thing to conect with... But now, this kind of thing doesnt fix the era we are in.... If we have a girl who looks good, but sucks in the ring, we wont be around her waiting she gets better, cause now women wrestling demands good matches at the PPVs and shows... So it wouldnt fix because people cant stand a girl who wrestles like Kelly Kelly did at the beginning of her career. Its a different time so our minds are diferent too.

I think Sasha was forced into being a face because in 2015 She was getting cheered so much. Charlotte was the face and Sasha was the heel but just like with becky the crowd wasn't behind Charlotte.
