Maui's dolphins are the rarest marine dolphins in the world. This short film clip was produced in 2005, when WWF-New Zealand and Otago University conducted an aerial survey of Maui's dolphins' population.
Today, the most recent population survey released in March 2012 estimated there are around 55 Maui's dolphins over the age of one.
The New Zealand government is preparing to make decisions that could determine the fate of Maui's dolphins.
